This trail allows you to discover the Land of Abbey’s wildlife. Start: Leave Senones in direction of la Petite-Raon and Moussey until the place called "Les Chavons". A documentation is available at the tourist office.

The real link between the three abbeys, the "Green Trail" or "Abbey Road"follows the old railway line which at one time connected Étival and Senones. This trail il 6 miles long and is safe and level. There are 10 information signs which tell you the history of the place: the abbeys of course and the industrial era, the Principality of Salm-Salm and the skills which bear witness to a rare and prestigious past. From the Col de Prayé, this walk takes you to the Vosges side of the massif to discover the Haut du Bon Dieu, but also the cup stones and dolmens that populate these enchanted mountains.

Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Rich in the Gallo-Roman past of Arlon, the museum houses an impressive collection that bears witness to the daily life of this period.One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments.These blocks and the objects from Roman craftsmanship will teach you more about daily life at that time.

The Vosges have kept traces of WWI. The inquisitive and the history-lovers will find a significant collection of items and documents, permanent and temporary exhibitions, cultural activities, conferences and a collection of weapons, uniforms, equipment and documents of World War I. This collection is located in a house that used to belong to Charles Cartier Bresson who was the mayor of Celles sur Plaine during conflicts.

The impressive medieval castle is on a summit that is fraught with cliffs made in pink sandstone and dominates the village of Pierre Percée and the downstream part of the lake. Its name Petra Perceia (Pierre Percée) comes from the very deep water well of 9 metres in circumference. The fortress dates back to the 12th century. The tower which was robust and haughty in the past takes us back to old centuries. It has been protected only by the ivy from the ravages of time! This treasure with silver water is located near Lake Pierre Percée in the Plaine Valley. This 500,000-cubic-metre water supply is used as a watershed. It’s also an amazing outdoor activities centre nestled in a gorgeous green setting. It offers many possibilities such as swimming, walk, playing areas for children and thrills for adults!

The Plaine Valley has kept many traces of the first worldwide conflict hidden in the mountain side. The study of the mountain war is possible thanks to this remembrance site. This area is where a zeppelin has been shot down for the first time because of war and where the greater depth has been reached in the underground war. The Chevrot tunnel in Col de la Chapelotte reaches a depth of 120 metres! Discover outstanding vestiges of the German and French rear fronts with a passionate guide! On either side of the front, real factories have been set up for this underground war in order to supply air and electricity to tunnels. You can also discover a fountain made by French soldiers; a chapel built by the Cartier Bresson family, rocks of “Pierre à Cheval”, the grotto of WWI French soldiers and path of rocks.

This sawmill has been in the Monument Historique classification since 1978. It was built in the 19th century and was commercially exploited until 1976. This local pearl is a strong, patrimonial and sentimental element for the inhabitants of the valley. The site attracts more than 10,000 visitors. It has been entirely rebuilt exactly as it was further to the awful fire which destroyed it in 2001. A 4-metre-diameter waterwheel sets the sawmill in motion. The Memorial of 358th R.I. has been erected in year 1924, in order to remember the soldiers of the 358th Regiment dead in this area between February 1915 and June 1916. This Memorial is located at the place where was the "Village-nègre", it means the french military camp that was near the front during the 1st World War.

Located in Badonviller, the National Cemetery contains the dead bodies of 2 653 french soldiers killed during the 1st World War (2 war memorials) and of 28 french soldiers died between 1939 and 1945. This Cemetery gathers together the dead bodies from war cemeteries of Badonviller, Ancerviller, Angomont, Baccarat, Montigny, Neufmaisons, Pierre-Percée and Saint-Maurice. On the 12th August 1914 the german soldiers sack the village of Badonviller, and several civilians were executed. German soldiers occupy the village from the 23th August to the 12 September 1914, and once again the 24th September 1914. When the french soldiers come in the village, the people of Badonviller were under the threat of the shots and the guns from March 1915 until armistice (November 1918). Inside the National Cemetery of Badonviller you will find a sculpture to remember the killed men at La Chapelotte ; that sculpture, first raised at the pass La Chapelotte, has been moved to this Cemetery. Accessible every days in the year.

The Museum and artist's studio received you for a guided visit about faience works in Pexonne and Badonviller (during the 19th and the 20th century). This guided visit (between 30 minutes and one hour) includes a demonstration of know-how with someone that form a plate. In the faience studio, each day a demonstration. At the showroom and factory shop, you will find articles made of faience, blown glass and fusing.
