Leaving from the departure station of the Lauzière chairlift, go up to the intersection of the «Grande Pierraille». Pass under the «Crête Maxet» (path going down on your left). Reach the track and continue towards the «Lac de la Grande Léchère» following the signs.

[Montgellafrey area] Red level (medium) itinerary. 4km long and around 2h duration. You can park your car at the Preney hamlet, below the Montgellafrey village. The path goes up on the road of the Preney hamlet. Continue on the track on your left, going around the hamlet. Follow it for about 800 meters before turning on your right at the directional marker. Take on your left towards «Le Poizat» and take on the left towards the «Rocher de la Mort». Once you’re at the «Plan des Fées», take a passageway in the woods on your left, overhanging the road. Then continue on the opposite pist. After the «Sapey des Baracons», take on the left when you arrive at a turn of the road. Go back to the path to the «Lac de la Grande Léchère»

From the parking lot at the entrance of the Montgellafrey village, follow the main road to the local bread oven. Take on your left and go up towards the «Chargeux». Continue to go up on the path. You arrive at a crossing with the road. Take the path in front of you. Take the direction of the «Mollaret» and then the «Andrés» hamlets. Then reach the «Vinits» and the «Cartiers». Arrived at the «Cohendets» let them on your left and go up to the lake.

Refuge located in the Lauzière Massif. It offers a unique panoramic view of the Aigueblanche valleys, the Vanoise glaciers and the border range. Between the Tarentaise and Maurienne regions, on the way to the Col de la Madeleine, a pass made famous by the Tour de France, a narrow road winds for 5km through undergrowth and bilberry bushes, taking hikers to the Logis des Fées refuge at an altitude of 1,840m. The refuge is unique in that it is powered by 5 different energy sources: hydro-electricity, photovoltaic, gas, wood and photothermal. The refuge offers many opportunities for walks and hikes. One of the easiest is the two-lake loop (Arpetaz/Branlay). Further up, a small gully (Biolène), dug into the hillside at an even slope, used to supply water to shepherds and formed the small artificial lake of Arpettaz at 1950 altitude. At the refuge, you can enjoy a meal while taking in the breathtaking views of the Vanoise glaciers. 5 bedrooms: 1 with 5 beds and 4 with 4 beds 1/2 board (bed, dinner, breakfast) or full board.

Cable cars enable to access the mountain pastures easily. You will discover our most beautiful views on foot or by MTB. You can access La Lauzière massif without a vehicule. Open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.15am to 12.15am and from 1.30pm to 4.45pm. Passage tickets, 1/2 day or for the day are sold at the departure of cable cars. Dogs can access cable cars, but they must be kept on a leash and muzzled.

Only 15 minutes from the village of Saint-Jean-de-Belleville, Refuge Plan Lombardy is perched at 1 764 m high in the heart of a valley still virgin and wild, at the foot of the majestic Black Horse. We welcome you to experience the night in a refuge, take a meal break or organize an event (birthday, family meal etc ..). For the lunch, menu "a la carte" with a dish of the day (meat, gratin etc ..) or a hearty salad but also desserts and pies of the moment. All homemade with sometimes very local products (some cheeses are from the alpine fruit at 2km). The evening meal consists of an appetizer or soup, a dish and a dessert.

In the commune of Saint-Jean-de-Belleville, above the hamlet of La Sauce in the Platière valley, the refuge of Plan Lombardie is located in a privileged site, at 1764 m altitude. In summer, it is in the flowered meadows that the refuge welcomes you for a snack, a meal at noon or in the evening, or for several nights. Breakfast, half board, full board or picnic baskets. It is also the ideal setting to organize a festive event (birthday ...). Modern and friendly, the refuge has 5 small rooms from 2 to 6 beds, with toilet and hot shower near the rooms. Beyond the many opportunities for day trips, the refuge is also located on the "Grand Tour de Tarentaise". During your stay, on foot, by bike or ski touring, you can have nineteen beds at your disposal (in small rooms up to 6 people) and hot shower. 15 minutes by car from Saint-Jean-de-Belleville, then direction of Deux-Nants, and La Sauce. Access is easy from La Sauce (7 km) : 30 to 40 min walk. You have to park your car at La Sauce, except for people with reduced mobility, who can however go to the refuge by car directly.
