The Committee of the French Remembrance of La Londe les Maures, with the support of the municipality, proposes a free path that recalls the occupation of the village from 1942 to 1944, the commitment and the sacrifice of its inhabitants and its liberation on August 17, 1944. Two panels at the East and West entrances of the city, 5 lecterns and 2 wall plaques located in different places of the town, constitute a memory trail in tribute to the French and American soldiers and the twenty-two Londais "Dead for France" during the Second World War. The project that was inaugurated on August 17, 2019, obtained the label of "75th anniversary of the landing and the Liberation" created for the occasion by the Ministry of the Army.

A walking and cycling route through the heart of the Massif des Maures, exploring hamlets lost amidst the forests and scrubland, where only ruins remain as evidence of past habitation. Le Vallat, meaning ‘ravine’ or ‘ditch’, and La Dérroucade, meaning ‘rock’, are local place-names in the heart of the massif, amidst the maquis, where you can see ruins bearing witness to past habitation. This is a walking trail surrounded by and immersed in Mediterranean vegetation, where you can admire rockroses – the kings of the garrigue – mastic trees and chestnut trees. PRACTICAL INFORMATION: - Start from the car park at the entrance to the Vallon de Tamary – Route de Valcros. ROUTE Start from the car park located at the entrance to the Vallon de Tamary on the Route de Valcros. Follow track B98, then walk alongside the stream on your right, passing close to the Tamary vineyard, then over a ‘Canadian’ bridge. Walk a few steps along the valley, then turn left to begin the climb up to the ridge and join the “Notre Dame des Maures B51” track. Follow the path for around 7 km, taking in the scenery, until you reach the highest point of the route at 432 m. Continue for 2 km along the fairly steep track to the ruins of Mirabelet (on the right). One last little effort is needed for this final small hill before beginning the descent along the Tamary valley back to the car park. Le Rouay de la Cabre or "the valley of the goat", a former stopping place for goats and sheep, describing an ancient agricultural activity. Opposite a building and a Tamary B98 sign. Ignore the track on the right, follow the track slightly to the left, note the red and white barrier which must be raised (in the event of closure make a U-turn as massif prohibited). Continue until you cross the stream again and start to climb on a wider track At a sharp left bend, note an LMS11 tank on the right. At the next right-hand bend, 40 m further on, leave the wide track and take the stony path opposite. At the first crossroads ignore the bridleway and continue straight up, until you reach a junction at the top of the hill. The slope is steep. Here you can see tree heathers, rockroses, rosemary and asphodel. At a clear spot, turn left onto the Notre Dame des Maures B51 track. At this junction, note the "Gaoutabry Dolmen" sign on the right (to visit this site, take a small path on the right, which climbs up to the site in a few minutes). Also note an LMS12 cistern on the right; opposite leave the B51 track. Take the steep, hairpin bend La Valletane B104 track on the left. This track skirts around the "Signal du Favanquet" summit on the left, the rocks of which can be seen. At this junction, ignore the track on the right; go alongside a pond on the right and continue straight ahead. Arrive near the LMS03 cistern on the left. Take the track on the left down to the Valcros road and the car park. On the left is a forest planted by La Londe schoolchildren in 1986 (stele). Your walk starts in the town centre from Avenue Clémenceau, head west to pick up the coastal cycle route over 1 km. Arrive at the Garenne roundabout, cross the road to take the promenade of the same name. Head south towards the sea! You will then walk along the vineyards in the shade of the holm and cork oaks. You can then admire the view of the Vieux Salins d'Hyères and its pink flamingos. Pass along the campsites towards the Bastidon pine forest. There you are, the sea is there! Head east, towards the port and Miramar beach. A small diversions behind the Capitainerie (harbour office) allows you to cross to the other side of the Maravenne rainwater channel. Walk along the quay then follow the seafront to the Argentière pine forest. It's time to head back towards your starting point, via the Annamites promenade, which is particularly shaded under the pines! Discover the Maures mountain range on a mountain bike and enjoy the sensations. From the Croix d'Anselme car park, enjoy a 1 km descent on the RD 14, surrounded by chestnut trees. At the intersection, turn right towards Col des Fourches Gonfaron. At the arrow post "Vallon de Rascas" take the direction of Valescure and prepare your calves to start the climb for about 10 km until the arrow post "Cros de Mouton". On arrival take the direction of La Garde-Freinet, continue for 1 km and turn right at the intersection towards Capelude. Hilly climb for 700 m on a sandy track until you reach the top of Le Défens. Here, take the time to stop and enjoy the panoramic view of the whole Collobrières forest and the sea. Enjoy the next 8 km of descent on a partly dirt and partly stony track surrounded by typical Mediterranean vegetation. On the way you can stop at the Treps reservoir, where picnic tables are available for a break. You can also admire the Chartreuse de la Verne in the distance. At the end of this descent, you will arrive on the RD 14, which you will have to climb for 400m to join the path on the left on the dirt roadside, which will take you to the ascent of the Chartreuse de la Verne on a trail of about 9.5 km with no difficulties or obstacles. On arrival you can visit the monument and enjoy the view towards the Maures massif. Then, follow the arrow post "Chartreuse 1" located at the entrance of the monument towards Plateau Lambert through the undergrowth. This shaded single is relatively technical with some passages on less important stones. Then take the Ragusse track on your right to enjoy a descent on a stony track for about 7 km. Remember to descend below the trail to admire the cedar forest about 2 km from the arrow post. Be careful, this is a very technical trail with a steep descent and a lot of vegetation for experienced mountain bikers. Tip: leave your mountain bike at the top of the track and walk the trail. At the end of this descent, when you reach a small ford, take the RD to the left for 400m and then to the left on the trail parallel to the departmental road. This single track has some small obstacles to overcome (tree roots), and there are 450 m to go before you return to the start car park.

In La Londe les Maures, facing the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros Located at the tip of the rocky spur of the Argentière and Pellegrin beaches, in a totally protected area. The coastal underwater world can be discovered on the surface, with fins, mask and snorkel by anyone who can swim. By following the numbered buoys equipped with handrails you will discover the underwater panels presenting the ecosystem. At depths ranging from 0 to 4 metres, there is a wide variety of underwater landscapes (posidonia meadow, cymodocae, rocks, sand, scree...), inhabited by numerous species of fish, molluscs, crustaceans, starfish... The posidonia meadow: this is not a seaweed but a plant with marine flowers. Posidonia plays a very important role in fixing the sandy bottom, thanks to its roots which form a sort of barrier called the "matte" when they mix with the sediments. A real "lung" of the Mediterranean, this plant has been protected since 1988. The underwater trail can be explored on your own from June to September, following the numbered buoys. This small botanical garden with an area of ​​2400 m² is located at the entrance of the village (facing the Cigalou Park). It gives pride to the southern plants: mimosa, acacia, banksia, eucalyptus, grevillea, hakea, melaleuca, eremophilia ... The Gonzalez Park was labeled "Remarkable Garden" in 2015: this distinction marks the recognition of the work done for several decades by the city of mimosa. This unique park in Europe, a real gem in the heart of the village, is composed of more than 500 species of Australian plants. It was born thanks to the generosity of Vivianne Grimminger and Carmen Martinez who offered this plot of 3000 m2 to seal their story and that of the Gonzalez family in the city, so dear to Roberta Gonzalez, daughter of the sculptor Julio Gonzalez. A generous gesture that made it possible, in 2002, to the Gonzalez Park, to be realized thanks to Gilles Augias, in charge of the Service Espaces Vert and Gérard Cavatore, the mimosa specialist.

Former property of the Jacob Family, this park became a public park owned by the municipality in 1979. Located in the heart of the village, stroll through its alleys lined with eucalyptus, centenarian cedar, palm trees ... Arranged with pergolas, benches and playgrounds for children, this park, of almost one hectare , is a space of relaxation and leisure very appreciated. At 324 meters above sea level, it's a popular theme for hikers. Nice climb along an ancient Way of the Cross dotted with oratories (40-minute walk from the château).

From this position which dominates the village of Bormes and the plain, one can watch for kilometers any terrestrial or maritime movement. The defenses are organized around the Chapel of ND of Constance. In 1943, this point was occupied by four Italian howitzers of the 48th Division "Fanteria" "Taro" of General Gino PEDRAZZOLI, then by artillerymen attached to the 917th grenadier regiment. Troops and ranks occupy the subway which one of the guts gives access to a window of fire. The place was abandoned without a fight, certainly in the night of August 16 to 17, 1944.

The crossroads of '' Gratteloup '' was the scene of a fight between the German troops of the 917th grenadier regiment of Colonel LANGE, and the 1st and 2nd battalion of the 7th infantry regiment, 3rd Division Us. The small blockhouse of the crossroads supported a machine gun who controlled the current D98, coming from Cogolin by La Mole. The American troops, landed on August 15 on Red Beach in Cavalaire, separate to follow one, the coastal road and the other, the forest of Dom. The 1st and 2nd battalions overtake the Mole at the dusk of August 16th. Then on the heights of the pass where the Germans are ambushed in a network of trenches, they are shot. The tanks of the 756th Battalion fought back and the "B" company, assisted by the local Resistance, took the enemy position by the North. The commandos of Africa on the ridges and in the South, the Americans on their heels, the enemy retired at the end of the night. The company "F", sent to Bormes, discovered in the morning of August 17 a desert village and Lavandourains hostages left by their guardians.

Built in 1855 and damaged during world war two, the Saint Louis Church has been transformed throughout the years. The bell tower has been replaced thanks to Father Hélin, local member of the French resistance. The choir has been renovated with handmade fresco painted by the artist Jean-Baptiste Garrigou in 2009.

These blockhouses are part of a strong network of fortifications, built in 43 by Italian troops, then taken over and densified by the German occupiers. They closed the bay of Bormes, with the eastern end, Villa Bourguet, at the end of the port of Le Lavandou. Between the two, and in the center of the beach, have been built a huge blockhouse with cannon, an anti-tank trench excavated in the dunes, minefields, barbed wire and concrete pyramids as underwater obstacles, some of which are trapped by Tellermine of contact. After being shot by destroyers positioned offshore, the defenders will surrender without a fight to the passage of the 3rd commando of Africa.
