This 3-hour tour will take you through the village of Janailhac and the small heritage of the area: Limousin farm and bread oven. You will walk along the ponds and springs of the river Isle.

In the Haute Vallée de l'Isle, lies the charming village of La Meyze. In the heart of this village, you'll find a church. Two chapels, at Notre-Dame du Rocher and in the hamlet of Champsiaux, add to this heritage.

The trail is named after the serpentine because the subsoil of the moor, through which the trail passes, is made up of serpentine, a low-acid rock unlike the granite of the region. It is a zebra-shaped rock that looks like reptile skin. The trail will take you to the serpentine barrens of Saint-Laurent, which represent very original ecosystems and contain a biological heritage of great rarity. You can discover it, thanks to an interpretation trail whose main theme is pastoralism. Interactive supports allow visitors to discover the natural and historical wealth of the moor. The site is classified Natura 2000.

Visit one of the 4 villages in Haute-Vienne. Hike along the Briance river, which winds its way under the viaduct, an impressive sight from the ground. You'll be amazed by the panorama of the viaducts and the Hermitage bridge.

The 21-kilometre-long Sentier des carrières, which has been awarded the equestrian label, is marked out with orange markers, a registered federal trademark. Riders can use it for equestrian endurance training (outdoor events run at set or free speed over a marked route, with veterinary examinations validating the horse?s ability to cover long distances). Its soil type and gentle gradient make it ideal for all-weather riding. This parish church stands out for its square bell tower, an unusual shape that gives the building a massive appearance. This is a characteristic feature of Romanesque churches, as at the time of its construction (late 13th century), methods were simpler and churches also had the role of protecting the population. That's why it's made of granite, a resistant material. Additions were made in the 15th century and again in 1940. So you'll find elements of Gothic architecture as well as more recent ones. It has been listed as a Monument Historique since 1987. Before you enter, take a look at the door, with its carvings copying those of a Renaissance door. Partly Romanesque, the church features a beautiful 13th-century Limousin portal with three voussoirs, a bell tower-wall perpendicular to the nave with an external staircase, and splendid stained-glass windows. Some are the work of painter Victor Gesta.

The St Laurent moor has been designated as a site of major ecological interest at European level (Natura 2000 program). It is managed by the Conservatoire Régional des Espaces Naturels du Limousin and the Communauté de communes du pays de Saint-Yrieix, in partnership with the commune of La Roche l?Abeille. It is made up of serpentine, a low-acid rock unlike the region's granite. Its highly original ecosystems are home to a rare biological heritage. To discover it, follow the 4 km interpretation trail, which focuses on pastoralism. Sheep tracks guide visitors as they discover the natural and historical riches of the Lande. The trail is easy to follow.

Attached to the church, the Cross of the Dead rests on a serpentine base where coffins were placed before entering the church.

Former keep of the motte castle built in the 12th century and deliberately set on fire by its owner in 1553. Solid and remarkably well-built, it testifies to the wealth of its builder: the Viscount of Limoges. As the ground floor has no door to better defend itself against attackers, the entrance is 6 m above ground level. The 2nd and 3rd floors were probably separated by a floor.
