The entire lake is bordered by a service road. It is ideal for family walks with young children as it is relatively flat. It is perfectly equipped for cycling or walking, with a length of 9km.

The Vézelay Way is a major pilgrimage route used by some 1,000 pilgrims every year from northern Europe to Vézelay, the main departure point for Compostelle. The route enters Périgord via La Coquille. From La Coquille to Thiviers, you'll notice "la pierre à cupules", the stuff of many legends. Have one counted if you meet a local. Arriving in Thiviers, admire the Saint Roch cross at the traffic circle. At the Tourist Office, gourmets visit the foie gras museum, while others take a break on the pilgrim's benches. This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary and take a stroll in ecomobility!

From the train station of La Coquille (shops and services), you will take small roads and paths to arrive on one of the vastest expanses of water of the Department and its dam: the water level of Miallet.

The campsite is located on the edge of a small village in the middle of the Périgord Vert, on 10.5 ha and has 40 pitches. It is important to us that the family atmosphere remains, even in our campsite. The pitches have a minimum surface of 100m², and are delimited by bushes or trees.

Follow the direction of the equestrian stadium and you will be able to admire the meanders of the Côle. The river is fresh and is partly fed by the Miallet dam. Many species of dragonflies and damselflies like to fly over the river, to land on the stones or on the grasses and irises that border the river bed..

Miallet's Dam: Don't forget your binoculars! A family friendly hiking trail of 9km meanders round the lake. If you are quiet you may see grey herons, mallards, great crested grebes, or even during the migration period, cranes.

Located in the heart of the Périgord Vert, the Miallet reservoir was created between 1988 and 1992 to support the low water flow of the Côle and Dronne rivers and thus enable the irrigation of cereal crops. In 1998, the site was classified as a Sensitive Natural Area (ENS) and beyond its initial vocation, it allows the preservation of aquatic species and the regular presence of sedentary or migratory waterfowl. With a track of about 8 km (PDIPR) around the reservoir, the dam is a place for walks, educational outings (interpretation trail, ornithological observatory, ...)

Originally from the Basque Country, we took over a dairy farm in Saint Saud Lacoussière, which we converted to organic farming. Nestled in the heart of the Périgord Limousin regional nature park, our production is certified "Lait de foin". We produce yoghurts and pasteurized milk in bottles.
