This rural itinerary starts from an old mining "city".Departure point on the square on the edge of the D36. Head for the old butcher's shop; turn right and then left on the Rue des Sources. Then turn right on the Rue du Château d'Eau. The latter rejoins the Rue des Sources, which we follow on the right.100 m after leaving the village, follow the road to the left. At the crossroads with the Pézareix road, continue on the track straight ahead. At the next crossroads, take the path on the right. Go straight on to Besse. Take note, at the entrance of the village, turn right on the small path that goes to the well.Take the road to the left. At the last house, turn right onto the Chemin des Chèvres follow it straight ahead.Take the road to the right and then to the left. Go past the stream, the Ambrugeat. 600 m after the bridge, turn left onto the track. Continue along the motorcycle path, go through the gate to reach the dyke.Just after the dyke, follow a path in the woodland to the left. Take the road on the left and then, in a hairpin bend, the path straight ahead. Take the road on the right, then leave the Route des Nèves and go on until you reach a crossroads.At the crossroads turn left towards La Chabane. At the top of the hill, take a path on the right. Go left at the first crossroads. This path joins up with a track that you take on the right. It leads to Cisterne.In the village, follow the road to the left for 1 km. Take a path to the left. Turn right at the road to reach the Pézareix mill. Take the road on the left which rises and becomes a track. Turn right when you reach the road.At the crossroads, turn right: the road runs alongside the ralway line. Turn left at the railway crossing and then take the path on the left just after the crossing keeper's house. Turn left at the next crossroads; the path becomes a track.Take the road to the left; go left at the next crossroads; cross the railway line. Turn right at the next crossroads to return to Maussac.

During the 115 years of its exploitation, the coal seam of Maussac allowed the village of Lapleau to experience a unique economic expansion. This trail allows you to compare the traditional architecture with the mining and administrative facilities of this "boom" and to imagine the evolution of the way of life in a mining town. A 7 km variant for families.

"To live on love and fresh water" is a beautiful synthesis for the territory of Combressol. It was the site of a great Benedictine Abbey from the 8th to the 18th centuries, where the abbesses of the greatest families in the region had taken a vow of poverty and love of the Lord. On the edge of the Plateau de Millevaches, the municipal campsite La Garenne is located in Meymac, a town classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Detours of France" and "Station Verte". Open from April to the end of September, the campsite has 30 semi-shaded pitches on terraces and 5 chalets and 4 mobile homes. A green link allows you to reach the lake of Sèchemailles by foot or by bike (distance 4.5km).

This type of well is not very common in the Haute-Corrèze because the water table is not as deep as in the north of the Limousin. It consists of a wooden structure that supports the winch and peg system. 

Also called "Limousin Mountain" this large granitic plateau straddles the departments of Corrèze, Creuse and Haute-Vienne. Peat bogs, dry moors with heather, deciduous forests and meadows all contribute to its authentic landscapes.

It is hard to imagine when discovering Maussac that this site was a coal mining centre. Conceded to a company in 1809, this deposit was mined until 1924; At its peak around 1908, 30 tons were extracted per day. No slag heaps and shafts, but galleries sloping gently down. The station played a major role, the very rich coal was ideal for feeding the forges and the Tulle arms factory consumed almost all the production.

A viewpoint over the Monédières massif with the Suc au May and the Puy de la Monédières. The Monédières massif is one of the seven landscape entities attached to the Millevaches Regional Natural Park in Limousin and covers an area of about 60 km². This protected granite region is located in the foothills of the Massif Central. Its dry moors are classified as Natura 2000 areas, synonymous with it being an exceptional site for flora and fauna.

The springs and fountains in the area generally have a similar architecture. They consist of a pile of three granite blocks, a horizontal deck resting on two vertical pedestals. On the other hand, at the crossroads of many departments, the area seems to have had a variety of architectural influences in the shaping of its wells. 

On 3 June 1944, Jean Vilat (58), a veteran and member of the FTP (Francs-tireurs et partisans, the name of the French internal resistance movement), left his farm to warn a camp of Resistance fighters of the arrival of the Nazis. Pierre Denaes, 20 years old, who was on guard, was shot by the assailants. On his return, John was arrested and tied to a tree in front of his house. Jean would not talk despite torture and horrible mutilation, thus saving many resistance fighters.

In the distance, easily identifiable thanks to its television and telephone broadcasting antenna, stands Mont Bessou. At 976 metres, it is the highest point in the Limousin. When you return from your walk, make a detour to discover a magnificent viewpoint overlooking the Monts d'Auvergne from the top of its panoramic tower.
