In the 1980s, Adrien Uijttewaal, a Dutch farmer, moved to the Médoc. The parish of Valeyrac was first mentioned in 1317. Since the Middle Ages, it has been part of the archpriesthood of Lesparre. Unfortunately, nothing remains of the original parish today, as the commune had a new church built in 1850.
