You cross the plateau on the small paths of the Causse and descend towards Bruniquel, enjoying a beautiful view of the castle overlooking the Aveyron Valley. You then gradually climb back up towards the Valeyres Farm and the hamlet of St. Paul de Mamiac. Finally, you descend back to Penne, having enjoyed all the panoramas.

A long and varied route with beautiful panoramas starting from the village hall of Penne. You can connect with the St. Antonin area via circuit No. 5. Starting from Penne, you climb via the Bayès path to the Pas de la Lignée, following the GR de Pays Cordes-Penne, while enjoying beautiful views of the village, its fortress, and the valley. You then follow the edge of the Forêt de Grésigne to the village of Vaour, where you can enjoy a great view of the Templar Commandery. After crossing the village, you climb up towards the heights via the Route de Liberté to the place called "La Fleur de Lys" before descending by the trails to the village of St. Michel de Vax. Finally, you follow the path on the Causse and cross the small valley of the stream "Le Bombic" before climbing up to the hamlet of Roussergues and its small 12th-century church, Notre Dame. A final climb to the village awaits to finish.

A short circuit but with a steep climb! Technical descent between road and trail. Starting from the village hall of Penne, you climb via the Bayès path to the Pas de la Lignée, following the GR de Pays Cordes-Penne-Coustous, while enjoying beautiful views of the village, its fortress, and the valley. You then descend to the hamlet of St. Paul de Mamiac and Penne through the hills of the Causse. To finish, you cross the small Cap stream via an ancient little bridge that takes you back to the village.

A must-do... for strong riders! Most of the sector in a single circuit, almost 68 km. The official start is in Penne, but there are several possible departures: Vaour, St Michel de Vax, Roussayrolles, Marnaves and Milhars.Refer to the descriptions of the other trails if you need to and enjoy!

The best of the area around Penne in a single 42 km circuit that combines routes 15, 17, and 18. Starting from Penne, you descend towards the Aveyron River and then climb up to the Causse via a challenging uphill road. Close to the Grésigne forest, the Mespel trail follows the shapes of the arid hills and allows you to discover a preserved and wild environment. After leaving the Vère valley, the rock shelters of Larroque surprise the hiker and provide access to the limestone plateau of Mespel with its green oaks, phillyreas, and other pistachio trees. From the trail, there is a view of the medieval village of Puycelsi. Facing the Larroque town hall, climb the stairs, then turn left and immediately right onto the road. Walk for 250 meters. At the intersection, continue straight on the gravel path. At the fork, continue straight on the path that passes through the undergrowth. At the crossroads (archaeological site on the right), climb to the left and continue straight under the trees. Upon reaching the open plateau dotted with oak groves and dry grasslands, continue straight up. Take the path to the left (white-red markings of GR® 46) and head towards Mespel. After 500 meters, you will reach the Notre-Dame des Bois Chapel (20-minute round trip). In the hamlet, cross the road and continue straight along the path that runs alongside the houses. At the crossroads, leave GR® 46 on the right (white and red markings) and take the path to the left (yellow markings). At the fork, turn right onto the winding path, cross the road, and go straight down to reach a viewpoint. After the viewpoint, descend the path (dangerous descent in wet weather) and then turn right to return to Larroque

Follow the trail for 1.2 km until you reach a sharp left turn. You can reach the Sainte-Cécile du Cayrou church by taking the road to the right (see dashed line on the map; 3.5 km round trip). Climb left on the forest road of La Baronne for 4.5 km. It passes near Peyro Signado and Lac Rond. At the intersection of the trails, continue to the left. Pass the barrier and descend on the forest road of Mailhac for 3.5 km to reach a crossroads. Take the forest road of l'Ourtigas to the right for 800 m until an intersection. Turn left towards the oppidum of Saint-Clément and pass near the oppidum through the undergrowth. At the fork, descend straight for 470 m, then take the gravel forest trail to the left. It passes by the source of Petit-Vichy (located on the left, near the small parking area) and ends on the road coming from the forest house. Follow it to the left to return to the starting point.

The bastide of Réalville (Regalis villa = the royal city) was founded in 1310 by King Philippe IV le Bel and populated by the inhabitants of Almont, a village located on the hillsides and abandoned on this occasion. The particularity of this foundation is to be installed in contact with a very old Benedictine priory, Cayrac, and near a Cistercian abbey, Saint-Marcel. Nothing suggests the turbulent history of Réalville, a 14th century bastide with an arcaded square, lined with old brick or half-timbered houses. After the troubles of the Hundred Years War (siege of Réalville), the Wars of Religion lead to the destruction of the Abbey of Lagarde-Dieu in Mirabel and the looting of Cayrac and Réalville. As prosperity returned in the 17th and 18th centuries, dovecotes were erected in the countryside, mills along the Aveyron or the Lère and beautiful houses in the villages. Mill built in 1781 by Louis Martin de Bellerive. Private property but the mill is visible from the road. The Bellerive Mill was protected as a Historic Monument in 1989. It is built of brick with stone bases. It consists of three levels and housed eight horizontal (flat) turbines. • Four for grinding flour; • One to operate the bluterie mechanism (which acted like a sieve, to separate the flour from the bran which envelops the grains); • Two to transmit power to a neighboring sawmill; • One for pumping water. The mill roadway was damaged by a flood during the winter of 1783. This caused difficulties later. Then after another break in the roadway in 1911, the mill's activity ceased definitively.

A priory-cure of the abbey in 1580, the chapel was a place of pilgrimage where people came from neighbouring departments to make their vows. Rebuilt in the 17th century, the chapel is remarkable for its octagonal stone bell tower and its two 16th century floors. This tower is a rare example of a stone bell tower from the Toulouse school. It is protected as a Historic Monument. During the summer of 2002 the 19th century wooden statue that occupied the heart of the church of Notre Dames des Misères was stolen. It consisted of three parts carved in oak, the Virgin, the pilgrims and the base. Of this sculpture only the base remained. The statue was replaced by a creation by Jean-François LEROY, a sculptor from Mirabel, inspired by the stolen work, where the Virgin stretches out her hands to welcome and gather the unfortunate people who implore her, a work in bronze 1m70 high and weighing 340kg.

Lake Requech, park and garden in Mirabel The Requetch lake is an artificial lake located on the border between the commune of Mirabel and the commune of Réalville. When it was built in 1972, the Catou stream, which formed this municipal boundary, was diverted to run alongside the future lake. This stream found its original bed beyond the dam which was built along the Requetch road (chemin de Pech on the Réalville side). The lake is fed by an underground spring, the surplus of which flows into the Poumarel stream.the PR2 loop, "the orchard circuit", runs alongside the lake and will make it a pleasant stopover. Superb place, in the middle of the hillsides... On the spot: - picnic possible - walk around the lake - petanque field - reception area for camping cars (3 consecutive nights maximum) at 7€ per night. Drinking water, electricity, WC. The Arles Tower stands opposite the church of Notre Dame de l'Assomption. Built in the 13th century, it was notably the property of the Duke of Sully. A precious witness to the architecture of the Middle Ages in Quercy, this tower, whose two facades have twin bays, houses vestiges of medieval wall painting. This red brick tower called Tour d'Arles was built during the expansion of the medieval town (probably built by the Lalo, a wealthy merchant family). The building, which belongs to the Caussade town hall, has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1989.

At 54 meters it is the highest in the department behind the modern bell tower of Saint-Orens in Montauban. In the 12th century and probably since the 10th century, the first Notre-Dame church was the priory of Moissac Abbey. This first church was destroyed during the Hundred Years' War (1337-1454), and rebuilt and enlarged from the 15th century. The top of the brick bell tower dates from this period. It is built on a massive, older, white stone base (perhaps from the original construction of the priory). This bell tower is part of the first classification campaign as a Historic Monument in 1840. The church was again partly destroyed during the Wars of Religion. The nave was rebuilt, larger, as was the rest of the church, rebuilt in a neo-Gothic style in the 19th century. The rose window is inspired by that of the Abbey of Beaulieu-en-Rouergue and presents the 7 sacraments;

The market was built in 2019, in the heart of the historic town, just behind the church of Notre Dame de l'Assomption, and is a circular market for fruit and vegetable producers during the weekly Monday market in Caussade. The motifs surrounding this hall refer to straw weaving and hat-making activities.

13th century house, also called House of the Tavern. Big bourgeois house that belonged to a rich cloth merchant. The Tavern house is one of the most emblematic medieval houses in Caussade. It was built in the 13th century, at the time of the expansion of the medieval town. Formerly called “Widows’ House”, it is today called “Tavern Tower”. The tower has three floors, formerly devoted to social and domestic life, as well as a ground floor whose arcades indicate the presence of commercial spaces. In the 15th century, the tower belonged to a rich family of draper merchants, the Missolières. The iron rings on the facade were used to hang draperies on holidays or to protect from the sun. This house was chosen by Viollet-le-Duc to serve as a typical 13th century dwelling in the south-west of France: tower houses or dwellings of noble families or the upper middle class. Viollet-le-Duc represents it in his reasoned dictionary of French architecture but took the liberty of restoring the twin bays of the first floor (replaced in the 15th century by cross windows) and added a soleiho (a covered gallery installed under the roof and used for drying fruits and vegetables).

The Thouron Fountain, formerly known as the "Fontaine Vermeille Installed on the edge of the old moat is the Thouron fountain, an emblematic fountain in Caussade. In the basement, two vaulted rooms housing pools were made accessible by a double-flight staircase. In the middle of the 19th century, the stairs were buried and the monumental fountain built above one of the pools. Thanks to a pumping system, the Caussadais collected the water which then came out of two cast iron lion heads. The stairs were brought to light again during a restoration and enhancement campaign for the building that began in 2012. Its function at this time still remains undetermined: was it used to supply water to part of the city's ditches? Or to feed the gardens installed outside the ramparts? Today, the fountain consists of a limestone pedestal in neoclassical style. The pedestal is decorated with garlands of oak and laurel leaves which highlight the coat of arms of the town of Caussade: a tower (it refers to the ancient castle of Caussade) and a stocking (legend of the fairy). The hotel is very easy to get to and is visible from the RD820 and is situated one kilometre from the A20 motorway tollgate at Caussade (take the direction of Cahors).
