The Rhône Department owns several forests on its territory, including that of La Cantinière. It extends over a massif located south of Beaujolais and is also classified as a sensitive natural area. Many hiking trails criss-cross it: the GR®P du Tour des Pierres Dorées, the GR®76 and short hiking trails taken from map guides. Fun workshops made of wood. The visitor is invited to soak up the atmosphere of the forest while contemplating the natural heritage it conceals.

Also known as the "the pearl of golden stoned villages" Oingt is the only village in the department to have been added to the list of "most beautiful villages in France".

25Km GPS-guided off-road electric scooter ride through the heart of the Beaujolais region, with a gourmet break halfway through, the famous "Mâchon Beaujolais". Meet in the parking lot of the Salle d'Animation Rurale in Frontenas, get to grips with the machines, then set off on a guided GPS ride lasting around 1 hour. At the halfway point, I'll be waiting for you to take a relaxing, convivial and gourmet break, accompanied by the famous "Mâchon Beaujolais", made up of local charcuterie, farmhouse cheeses, Beaujolais wine and sweets. At the end of this stop, you'll continue your tour for about 1 hour.

This area includes a Sanylis® PMR sanitary block with a shower, a sink, and a toilet. A location is occupied by a Cabadienne®, unusual wooden accommodation with a 'cocooning' atmosphere. Bivouac area installed near the GR7® which crosses the village of VIOLAY, recently listed as a stage of the GR7®. La Tourette convent was designed by Le Corbusier at the end of the 1950s. It is now a historical monument occupied by a community of some ten Dominican monks devoted to coordinating visits and encouraging onsite meetings and exchanges.

Near a former copper and pyrite mine, the museum has reconstructed galleries and mining sites and presents the history of the mine from 1800 to 1972, as well as an exhibition of equipment, archives and minerals.

Dignified heirs to Lyon’s silk industry, over 60 years the company Denis & Fils has mastered the complete manufacturing chain of its products in order to meet high quality requirements.

The museum is housed in an old canvas factory built in 1856. From the former boss’s office to the garden, by way of the factory, discover the history of textiles in the Montagnes du Matin: damask, bolting cloth, silk and ties.

The medieval Vindry chapel is interesting from an architectural and artistic point of view, the steeple wall in particular with its canopy. Inside, the font in golden-coloured stone is typical to the area and very well preserved, despite its age.

This medieval chapel has kept its original architecture with a central nave and side chapel. Wood panelled ceiling. Blind window in the flamboyant Gothic style. Votive chapel (built in fulfilment of a vow).

This 30 m high building overlooks the town and is reminiscent of the old part of Tarare. 11th to 18th century. Worth seeing: the 17th century gilded wood altarpiece and the stained glass windows.

This medieval chapel is the oldest remaining religious building in Tarare. It still has its Romanesque-style chancel decorated with medieval paintings. 10th and 11th century vault. Near the chapel there's a really lovely viewpoint and a panoramic map.

Dive into the heart of nature in the departmental forest of Brou! Its wild fauna and flora will give you a change of scenery and a breath of fresh air. Water is the real wealth of the Brou forest. Don't miss the huge Laurent Bonnevay Douglas Pine.

This ancient chapel dates back to the 12th century and was rebuilt in 1757. A hiking path leads directly to it and offers a remarkable view of Tarare and its surrounding countryside.

Monumental statue of the Virgin Mary (4.5 m) in black Volvic stone (1861) on a promontory. A pilgrimage site. The monument welcomes visitors all year round.

An observatory run by Amplepuis' CAOS astronomy club. In monthly observation sessions, you can explore the sky thanks to their 400 mm Newton telescope.

Some background: the estate was built in the late 18th century by the Barons of Vauxonne and native of Lyon, Albin Fortuné Pierre Saint Rousset de Vauxonne lived here between 1838 and 1851. For a century the Château des Loges was privately owned. In 1960, the Cave Beaujolais de Perréon was acquired by this Beaujolais property and a winemaking cooperative was created on the estate. The wine-tasting cellar was founded in 1962. In 1989, the château was renovated. Two years of hard work resulted in the estate as we can see it today. In 1995, the Lagarde family took over the estate's hotel business. The Château des Loges was completely renovated and transformed into 10 guestrooms (comfort, grand comfort and one family suite) decorated in an old-fashioned way and each bearing the name of a Beaujolais wine. The accommodation also boasts outdoor terrace areas, French-style garden, pool hall and air-conditioned restaurant for an elegant, fine-dining experience (Maître Restaurateur title). The chef uses local products to concoct traditional dishes that everyone is guaranteed to enjoy. All our different areas are equipped with heating, air-conditioning and are fully equipped in general. The cottage is located in the heart of the village, starting point for many hikes that will take you to the Celtic site of La Truche or the Matagrin Tower. It is possible to rent a room with kitchen, dishes and 15 beds. 4 bedrooms with possibility of 10 beds. These rooms can be rented individually for hikers or workmen.
