N°13 La tour Matagrin

This outstanding ride follows part of the GR®7 and takes mountain bikers to the Tour Matagrin, the highest point in Forez-Est. From the top of the tower, the 360° panorama even offers views of Mont Blanc!

Starting from Violay, cross the Col de la Croix Cazard before climbing gradually to the foot of the Tour Matagrin. The route follows the GR®7 over fairly flat terrain, then tackles a fairly technical climb after Azole Wood. From the Croix de Signy, the ride becomes gentler, winding between ridges and valleys to Fontbonne Pond. A long climb then brings you back to the starting point.
