Do you want to escape from the seaside? A few kilometres from the coast are two villages where you can recharge your batteries and marvel at the beauty of the area! Set in time, the village of Plumetot charms us with its old stones and its narrow streets (Plumetot only had streets until 1985!). A true rural stopover in the Terres de Nacre, its green lanes offer a panorama of the sea as well as the countryside and are a good place to go for a walk with your family or with a four-legged friend. Take a stroll to its neighbour, Cresserons. Its architecture and its religious past are surprising. It was once a Protestant village, but today only vestiges of that era remain! Nevertheless, go through the door of the Church of Saint Jacques and you will be amazed.

Le Coudray is in an old farmhouse 300 m from the village of La Pallu, near the forest, 9 km from Pré-en-Pail, 30 km from Alençon, 12 km from La Ferté-Macé, 9 km from Couterne and 14 km from Bagnoles de l'Orne, a spa town. Thérèse, who loves the countryside, welcomes you to her haven of peace. You will be staying in a bedroom on the first floor of the house. Private bathroom with shower, WC, vanity unit and hairdryer. Indoor or outdoor breakfast, table and chairs in front of the house or at the back in a wooded park. There are a number of restaurants, the nearest of which is 4 km away (Couptrain). A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). A warm welcome awaits explorers in caravans, motorhomes and tents, whether travelling with a motorised vehicle or on their own. Our pitches are spacious and bordered by hedges. They are ideal for families or couples to feel at home. We have two accommodation units available for hire. Our large and spacious mobile home is available for a minimum of 3 nights. Our smaller mobile home is available by the night and is ideal for couples, families with young children and walkers/cyclists. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON SITE. The site is open from April to September.

A 2nd green bedroom (18m²) with a 140*190 bed, chest of drawers and sofa bed. The last bedroom (8m²) with its four-poster bed has a 140*190 bed. In Neuilly-le-Vendin, you'll find a café-bar-restaurant with a bread counter and a hairdresser. More shops in Pré-en-Pail (12km) and La Ferté-Macé (15km). You are 13km from the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne and in the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park. You'll love the hiking trails and the nearby Véloscénie cycle route linking Paris to Mont Saint Michel. If you fancy a spot of fishing, there are plenty of opportunities in the village, with lakes and trout in the river.

If you're looking for a wellness break in an unspoilt natural setting, with friends or family, the Moulin de Cordouen, between Mayenne and Orne, offers a quality service with its sauna and Nordic bath on the River Mayenne. The Moulin has been redesigned by an architect to offer spacious accommodation in every room, with bay windows to take advantage of the waterfall and the landscape. The De la Brèche chapel was first built in 1932 and was then called the Chapelle des Baigneurs. It was damaged during the D-Day landings on June 6, 1944. In order to cope with the harsh winter, some inhabitants came to collect the planks of the Chapelle des Baigneurs to keep warm. The local parishioners decided and financed the construction of this new chapel in 1954. This beautiful chapel received the label "Heritage of the 20th century" in 2004.

Originally a bulldozer tank without a turret, during its restoration it was transformed into a Centaur CS (Close Support) tank, to be displayed as a tribute to the Royal Marines' armored support group that landed on nearby Sword Beach. Graduation markings on the turret enabled an outside observer to give firing instructions by radio to the crew, who had only a very limited view of the fighting.

Around Place du Cuirassé Courbet (named after the French ship scuttled off Hermanville-sur-Mer to facilitate bombing operations in June 1944), you'll find a number of monuments to the heroes of the Second World War. You can see the statue of the Norwegian Sailor, the Royal Navy Sailors' Monument, monuments to the British troops who landed on Sword Beach in 1944, and even a Centaur tank on display a little further along, to the west of the square

Beach huts are a strong feature of coastal towns. This international architectural competition will look at and analyze new uses for this sociologically powerful architecture. Three winners will see their proposals put into practice at Hermanville-sur-Mer. Exhibition at the Pavillon.

This house, Hermanville?s most famous, was built in 1889 by Hector Guimard. It is one of the finest surviving works by the great Art Nouveau architect. It features a skilful interweaving of volumes and lines, including an astonishing curved faux pan de bois. The use of pebbles and shells gives the building its seaside character. The enamelled lava plaque bearing the villa?s name on the portal comes from the Maison Gillet in Paris; the one bearing the architect?s signature has recently disappeared.

La Sapinière was also built by Hector Guimard between 1903 and 1910 for a Parisian. Unfortunately, this small building has been severely altered. The openings have been altered and the first-floor balcony removed. Initially, La Sapinière consisted of ground-floor stores and apartments for seasonal rental.

Near the Flame is the statue of Lord Lovat and his famous piper Bill Millin, who landed in Normandy playing the bagpipes! This soldier was made famous in the film "The Longest Day". Today, his bagpipes are on display in the Pegasus Memorial museum.

Our tearoom is open from Wednesday to Sunday, serving homemade, local and organic cuisine, to be enjoyed on deckchairs in the garden or indoors on sofas by the fire. Every afternoon, we serve homemade pastries of the day, accompanied by hot or cold drinks, as well as crêpes and ice cream sundaes. On Wednesday and Thursday lunch is also available, with a single course, and on Friday it's pancake night. Everything is homemade and seasonal, as local and organic as possible. We select our products with care and work with l'Arbuste Café, BioCoop, Les Glaciers Normands, brasserie Les Deux Amants, Flore Norman? And last but not least, Sundays are brunch: an all-you-can-eat buffet. It includes a breakfast section (ultra-good bread, viennoiseries, butter, spreads, etc.), a savoury section (charcuterie, local cheeses), a sweet section (cereals, cakes of the day, pancakes), and hot and cold drinks. Twelve workstations are spread over two large tables, and eight workstations are located high up on two "standing-desks" along the bay windows. The wooden furniture was custom-made in our workshop.
