Departing from Le Hôme Varaville, make your way along the beach before crossing the line of dunes towards the marshes. This rest area so close to the sea offers a safe haven to migratory birds. It is also a lively landscape marked by traditional activities.

This cycling route will take you from the Côte Fleurie coast to the Dives marshlands via a portion of green way offering an opportunity to quietly discover the kingdom of the herons and storks. You will follow the narrow route known as the ‘Chemin de l'anguille’ (eel's way) that zigzags its way through the marshlands to Robehomme. You will then continue on roads with low traffic density via small and typical Pays d'Auge villages.

Go for a bike ride from Cabourg to Dives sur mer by taking a portion of the coastal cycle route: the Vélomaritime.

Head to Deauville from Dives-sur-Mer by taking the Vélomaritime! Start by climbing the hilltop of Houlgate, before reaching Auberville. This section has magnificent views of the Côte Fleurie. Crossing Blonville marshes will let you rest your legs on an easy cycle path, before starting the ascent of Mont Canisy, which has exceptional views from the summit. Head down to the Deauville racecourse, before ending your amazing outing on the beach.

On the night of the 5th to 6th June 1944, Allied paratroops were dropped throughout the zone covered by this trail. Their mission was to reduce the Merville artillery battery to silence. Unfortunately, this marshy zone reduced the original contingent by two thirds. In memory of the young liberators who fell in the early hours of D-Day, commemorative steles are decked with crowns of poppies every year, to symbolise the sacrifice of these British troops.

If you're looking for a wellness break in an unspoilt natural setting, with friends or family, the Moulin de Cordouen, between Mayenne and Orne, offers a quality service with its sauna and Nordic bath on the River Mayenne. The Moulin has been redesigned by an architect to offer spacious accommodation in every room, with bay windows to take advantage of the waterfall and the landscape. The two stone buildings are linked by a glass roof and completely surrounded by wooden terraces. They can accommodate up to 10 people. Creative activities, porcelain painting and classical concerts in summer

Thanks to its remarkable heritage, Dives-sur-Mer is a unique destination on the Côte Fleurie coast. The town centre boasts a wealth of listed monuments: the medieval market, a local hotspot since the 15th century, the Bois-Hibout Manor, an elegant 17th century seigniorial dwelling, the Church of Notre-Dame, built as a pilgrimage site in the 11th century. Dives-sur-Mer is also home to the harbour from where William the Conqueror’s fleet set off on its way to England in 1066. Remnants of this historic episode can be found here and there in the town. A list of the names of William the Conqueror's 475 companions is engraved in stone above the church’s porch entrance. In the William the Conqueror Village of Art, a former post house converted into an inn in the 19th century, you can see a copy of part of the Bayeux Tapestry (Tourist Office hall). The Port Guillaume marina is one of the other assets of this coastal town. The sailing school offers visitors and locals the opportunity to indulge in sailing, be they beginners or experienced seafarers. Several boat trips are organised by the master’s office and by other service providers. A pedestrian footbridge offers direct access to Cabourg beach. The fishing port also has its own fish market, open in the mornings all year long. For further information, the team at the Tourist Office is always delighted to help.

Please note: part of the Village d'Art is closed indefinitely for safety reasons. This former coaching inn on the road from Caen to Rouen by the strike dates in part from the end of the 15th century. Many famous people have stayed here. At the end of the 19th century, with the fashion for sea bathing, a wealthy clientele moved in and the inn experienced its period of splendour with Monsieur Le Rémois. A great lover of art, he adorned the Norman buildings with medieval and Renaissance-style wood carvings. He acquired statues, vases and busts from the 17th and 18th centuries, which he installed in the courtyard.

Originally built in the 11th century, and completed in the 14th and 15th centuries, the church is particularly relevant to the story of William the Conqueror. A list of the names of William the Conqueror's 475 companions is engraved in stone above the porch.

This manor house was built in the 17th century by Leduc de la Falaise, who was valet to the French King Louis XIV. It was later owned by a Lord from Bois-Hibout, to whom it owes its present-day name. Transformed to house a Gendarmerie in the 19th century, the building is also referred to as the ‘Lieutenancy’. The façade still bears the traces of former openings. They probably mark the presence of a former wing, perpendicular to the present-day building, which was destroyed in the early 20th century. They can still be seen on old postcards of the site. The manor was built in Caen stone on a sandy base. It has no foundations but lies on walls of a width of two metres.

Dives-sur-Mer’s indoor market bears witness to this highly active trade point that probably dates back prior to the 11th century. Dating on structural wooden beams conducted in 2012 has established that the market’s construction dates from the early 15th century, between 1405 and 1423. The building comprises a central nave and two symmetrical side aisles. The roof frame is supported by a series of 66 oak pillars, as were all major constructions at the time. The market was originally an open building, up to the early 20th century. The present-day side aisles were recently added, in typical Pays d’Auge half-timbered style, comprising a wooden skeleton with cob (a mix of clay and hay) between the beams. The roof is covered with old tiles produced from local clay. The wooden framework is in its original state. In the 1950s the eastern side of the market was closed. The floor was paved, which increased the level by around 20cm, and windows were added to the roofing to allow for natural light. The building houses a highly popular market on Saturday mornings, where you can find an excellent choice of regional fare.

From 1957 to 1984, Euclides Ferreira Da Costa enhanced his garden by creating picturesque artistic installations using chips of old plates and glass to form a mosaic: chapels, mills, frescos… a world that is as religious as it is naive and poetic, the world of this self-inspired artist. Open in the high season (once a week, from mid-July to mid-September and during the European Heritage Days). Group visits on request.

Gastronome and neat. Notice to the amateurs of fine cuisine of the soil and the sea, and of some "canaille" preparations which make the reputation of the Chef Thierry Ramard. You will appreciate the two different atmospheres in this house: contemporary atmosphere around the fireplace or bright in the veranda. The former "Pied de Cochon" became "Au Pied des Marais" is located at the exit between Cabourg and the Golf du Home, in the direction of Ouistreham by the coast (D514).

This traditional restaurant, renovated in 2017, is a warm and friendly place that can welcome all kinds of people. In winter, enjoy the beautiful fireplace, and in summer the sunny terrace overlooking the golf course.

The gîte is located on the first floor of the farm's old wine press. It has been renovated in keeping with the authenticity of the site, while combining modern comforts.
