This former coaching inn on the road from Caen to Rouen by the strike dates in part from the end of the 15th century. Many famous people have stayed here.
At the end of the 19th century, with the fashion for sea bathing, a wealthy clientele moved in and the inn experienced its period of splendour with Monsieur Le Rémois. A great lover of art, he adorned the Norman buildings with medieval and Renaissance-style wood carvings. He acquired statues, vases and busts from the 17th and 18th centuries, which he installed in the courtyard.
