This beautiful castle from the 14th to the 18th centuries is adorned with a round tower, and was embellished by the Marquis of Marcieu who was the Governor of the Dauphiné county. This was also an ex stronghold for the Lords of the village of Revel. The castle, its terrace and gardens are listed as French Historical Monuments. This MH-protected estate consists of a fortified house built in the 14th century by François de Revel, whose castle needed an observatory. This fortified house with its round tower evolved into a charming château in the 18th century, in response to the desire for hospitality of Laurent-Joseph Emé de Saint-Jullien, Marquis de Marcieu, governor of Grenoble, when he visited his estates in southern Dauphiné and Viennois. You will start your visit in front of an impressive entrace door with 2115 original nails, topped by its pediment, bearing the Virieu coat of arms. Then, you will be in the castle's court of honor, just in front of its dungeon. You can see at your right the cannons offered by Louis XIII in 1622, placed under the arcade gallery in brick of Italian style. A few steps and you will be in the peaceful atmosphere of Virieu's chapel. Inside of it, you will discover the Way of the Cross sculpted by Stéphanie de Virieu at the age of 80. With a few steps under the gallery, you can access to the ancient kitchen, which now used as a dining room. You will discover the monumental fireplace with its low arch and its XIIIth century fireback, a souvenir of the ancient Chartreuse de la Sylve Bénite. You will also be able to appreciate its furniture before entering the Great Hall full of history. The King's bedroom, impressive and majestic room, called like that because the King Louis XIII slept there in 1622, has kept its original aspect and part of its furniture. You will then reach the White Room, which should have been a chapel. The visit touch to its end near the dungeon, which is now a memorial place dedicated to the Resistance during German's occupation from 1940 to 1944.

A rare 11th-century Romanesque church listed as a Historic Monument, open to visitors and hosting one of France's oldest Chamber Music Festivals, free concerts and temporary contemporary art exhibitions. Restored in 1964 by the artist Roger Lorin, the church has since been dedicated to the visual arts and music. The international festival is one of the oldest chamber music festivals in France, offering the chance to hear the best French and international ensembles in this venue with its exceptional acoustics (full programme on the website). Finally, the site of the 11th-century Romanesque Priory, adorned with frescoes and listed as a Historic Monument, is open to visitors (self-guided tours or guided tours for groups by appointment). Standing on a hill, the feudal castle of Bressieux still bears witness of its military heritage throughout the centuries, showcasing majestic ruins of reddy pink bricks. Of the fortress, built in the second half of the 13th century, the portal towers and the high cylindrical keep remain in a good state of preservation. The château is open to the public.
