Set up in the birthplace of the famous composer who was born in La Côte Saint André, the museum retraces the artist's world : discover his love stories, his family, listen to his music and enjoy the quiet of inner courtyard.
Hector Berlioz was born in La Côte Saint-André, Isère, on December 11, 1803, where he spent the first 18 years of his life. The house where he was born, built around 1680 in the heart of the town, has been a listed monument since 1942.
Today, it is a museum dedicated to the memory and work of this composer, considered one of the greatest exponents of European Romanticism. The museum recreates the artist's world: discover his loves, his family, listen to his music and enjoy the tranquility of his garden.
Interactive systems allow young and old alike to discover how the composer's work has been interpreted over the centuries.
Temporary exhibitions, free concerts, conferences and workshops in collaboration with the Berlioz Festival punctuate the year and make the walls resonate!
