Works of art are installed in the middle of nature, on a hiking trail, for the pleasure of young and old curious. This walk invites you to take a close and artistic look at the natural environment. The artistic creation was entrusted to Coline Vergez, a local artist already well known in Simorre. His reflection on rural art and environmental concerns lead him to work with local artists and artisans for the realization of his 5 works and the signage of the course, using sustainable materials and/ or recovery. Collaborations: Jean-Michel Carcy, ironman of art in Seissan realized the arrows, Kriss Fabr'Hic, artisan of art recycler in Biran created the birds, Crhistophe Moine "Xof" recuperist diverter has realized the "Cycloraptosaurus", Aliénor Rajade glass artist in Simorre has realized "Insects in light", Jeff Cervera, cabinetmaker in Simorre has directed "La Pause des deux horizons", Stéphane Vincent carpenter of marine in Simorre, has realized "L'oeil du cocon", Juju and Dédé (MH Services) in l'Isle-en-Dodon have realized "The flight of flavors". You're off on a lovely walk to discover the village of Le Fousseret and the surrounding area. Between the undergrowth of the Cazac forest, the Chemin de Ronde, the banks of the River Louge and the Picon orientation table, you're in for a real treat!

Treat yourself to a 10 step journey taking you from the cathedral’s forecourt to discover the village huddled around it, so we can enlighten you and answer all your questions about this area.

Loop starting from the Chemin de Carraou. Starting from the stone bridge over the River Lens, this loop will take you through the heritage and countryside of the village of Cassagne and the surrounding area, as far as the village of Belbèze-en-Comminges.

A pleasant tour of the villages of Ardiège and Cier-de-Rivière with a few typical Comminges houses, squares and wash houses giving an idea of life in days gone by.

This hike in the Pyrenean foothills will allow you to discover traditional architecture and a beautiful panorama of the Sauveterre-de-Comminges region. Starting from the village of Cier-de-Rivière, you will set off on a pleasant hike through the woods in the Pyrenean foothills.

You will pass close to the Gargas caves. You will tackle a series of hills (Montoussé, St-Arroman, Mazouau, Hèches, Col de Coupe).

A loop at the foot of the Haut-Garonne Pyrenees to prepare for slightly more mountainous routes. Depart from Montréjeau-Gourdan-Polignan station towards Pointis de Rivière, Ardiège and Barbazan. Then you reach Loures Barousse for a ride through the Barousse valley with some nice hills. After St-Bertrand de Comminges, the route is flat back to the starting point.

A prehistoric shelter occupied during the Aurignacian period (35,000 years ago), this archaeological site is accessible all year round from the museum along a short 1.5km shaded path dotted with informative stops. Discovered by chance in 1852 in Aurignac's town, this cave was excavated in 1860 by the famous palaeontologist Edouard Lartet. Remains of animals, tools and hunting weapons from the begining of the upper Palaeolithic era were discevered on site. Since 1913, this place is the eponymous Aurignacien's place.

The Musée de l'Aurignacien is a prehistory museum that invites aficionados to archaeological and cultural discoveries. The Aurignacians were the first anatomically modern humans who lived in Europe approximately 36,000 years ago. Archaeological traces of the lives of these ancient peoples are taken from the digs of the site of Aurignac and other emblematic prehistoric sites to provide the central theme of the museographic presentation. Films, illustrations, temporary exhibitions and activities for all ages offer a great number of approaches to understanding prehistory. Ideally accessible, designed to appeal to all ages and audiences, this museum is also a place where debates and discussions are held, probing into the great questions of Man’s origins and addressing the latest scientific discoveries. Guided tours are available for individuals, groups, school groups and even toddlers (1 to 3 years of age).

Fortified church of the XIVth century built in bricks Built in 1307, it dominates the city center by its fortified chevet. The present sacristy would perhaps correspond to the chapel of the castle. To be seen: Wooden pieta of the XVth century, the organs, the stained glass windows with bright colors. During its restoration in 2010, murals were discovered in the choir.

In the town centre you will also discover the town hall and its market hall, an imposing building built between 1852 and 1854. Entirely built in brick, it is composed of 2 symmetrical halls and the town hall in its centre. In the latter's Town Council room, you can admire the magnificent frescoes by Gaston Lagorre illustrating the four seasons in Isle-en-Dodon and the triptych in homage to the martyrs of the Maquis de Meilhan. The surrounding villages also preserve a few treasures. For example : In Agassac, the PIERRE BLANCHE, a Gallo-Roman stele in Saint-Béat marble, can be seen at the town hall. In Saint-Laurent, the ruins of the Priory and the frescoes of the Painter Lagorre in the church. Also to be discovered, Puymaurin, Saint-Frajou... But this heritage, should not make us forget the gastronomy: several restaurants propose a traditional cuisine, very appreciated. You can also easily find on the market or on their farms, the producers of fat ducks, cheese, vegetables or organic meat. Opened a year and a half ago on the village square in Roquefort-sur-Garonne, it's a one-stop shop with a bar/coffee corner where you can enjoy craft beers and wine, as well as coffee and tea from local producers. You'll also find a delicatessen corner stocked with local and south-western products, as well as the press (Dépêche and Gazette du Comminges), a bread depot and, more recently, the Française des Jeux. I also offer 'Anti-Gaspi' baskets. Charcuterie and cheese platters are available for evenings organised in the bar. Other boards can also be made depending on what's available and what's in season.
