Between the plains of the Lieuvin area and the bocage landscape of the du Pays d'Auge, Barville is a small village located before the source of the river Calonne. Visitors will be able to admire the pine tree alley, the ruins of the feudal motte and the sundial. A section of the walking trail runs along the forest on a path called the "rivère morte" (dead river).

With its holloways and its abundant pastures, the Véronne valley is the perfect example of typical Norman bocage landscape. This short but very hilly walk crosses the river four times thanks to footbridges and follows its bank twice. In this green setting, tree is king, especially the impressive pollarded hornbeams and ash trees planted on the banks.

Exceptional heritage sites, numerous panoramic views over a lush valley, forests and a bocage landscape: this walk is the one that best reflects the identity of the Risle valley and of the Pays Risle Estuaire. It offers a walk in an authentic and lively Normandy, shown in the Priory Park, the starting point, which also holds great events.

This walk leaves from Fontaine la Louvet, a small village on the border with the Pays d’Auge and the Lieuvin region, where the river Calonne has its source, before flowing into the river Touques in Pont l’Evêque. In a Natura 2000 protected valley, you will enjoy both the green meadows and the shaded forest, with the gently flowing river in the background.

An authentic Norman terroir, the Véronne valley displays an unspoilt bocage landscape and provides a pleasant place to hike. Here is a 9.6-km long (5.5 miles) hilly walk for a strenuous and varied walk along paths of the Vièvre region.

Close to the Risle valley, at the edge of the state forest of Montfort, this easy hike reveals a rich heritage which includes three chateaux. The contrasting landscape alternates between forest, with two particularly remarkable beech groves, and plains and open lands, including beautiful bocage areas that feature large pollarded trees.

In the peaceful Sébec valley, a small wild river that flows towards the Risle river, the waymarked path reveals an unspoilt bocage landscape: banks surmounted by hedgerows with pollarded trees which create holloways. This very hilly walk crosses the river four times thanks to footbridges or fords. You'd better wear good walking shoes to tackle the water and the stones!

Close to Pont-Audemer and the Risle valley, this walk winds among hills and forests to explore the bocage, this man-made landscape, and learn more about the popular belief in Holy Healers, which is still very much alive nowadays.

In Saint-Georges-du-Vièvre, in the heart of a bucolic Normandy, explore this medieval church. Saint Georges Church comprises a bell tower with a hip roof, a 19th century nave and a rectangular choir dating from the end of the 13th century that goes with a 12th century tower on the northern side, traces it has kept from its medieval past. During the restoration works of the paving of the choir, a well was discovered in the north-east side of the church. Abbot Corbet decided to use different tiles to show the location of this well. Stained-glass windows depict Saint Georges' life. Quirky detail: on the outside walls, you can see nails that were hammered by believers to ask or thank for healing, as well as feet, boat and glasses graffiti.

The Surcouf joined the Allies during the Liberation of Normandy and continued as the 1st march batallion in Normandy. The permanent exhibition "Sur les Pas des Maquisards" (Follow the footsteps of the Maquisards) is divided into several themes that explain, among other things, daily life under the German Occupation, the Maquis' operations, the Liberation, the martyrs of the Resistance Movement, the Maquis Surcouf Memorial and other places of remembrance. The Maquis Surcouf Resistance Movement was founded in the Lieuvin area in 1942 and developed thanks to the extraordinary network of holloways and isolated farms in this area. Thanks to their actions, the men belonging to the Maquis made the area dangerous and hostile for the German troops.
