La Muletière is a spacious 130m² accommodation, with large living rooms on the ground floor, 2 bath/shower rooms, 1 separate toilet and 3 bedrooms. The Domaine de Trotté is a communal site open to the public, with a hiking trail close to the gîte. The village of Saint Pierre des Nids is 4km away, with all local shops. For leisure activities, you can go to the leisure centre at Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei, just over 1km away, where you can go canoeing or kayaking, or to Saint Léonard des Bois (accrobranche course and other activities). Saint-Cénéri-le-Gérei has been designated one of France's most beautiful villages. River fishing in the Sarthon, 1st category, fishing licence required. Stone, wood, terracotta floor tiles and nature are the words that best describe this vast house, set on a knoll overlooking the surrounding countryside. The river Sarthe flows below. On the ground floor, the living rooms open onto the outside. 3 main bedrooms, including one on the ground floor with its own shower room. A mezzanine area with low ceilings for 3 extra beds. Our brasserie is a place of production, a bar, restaurant, place for tourism and events, all rolled into one, in an exceptional setting. Commented tour with a prior booking made by filling in the form on the website, at least 7 days before the tour date. Tour followed by a tasting of 4 samples (4 x 12.5 cl) of choice.

The church was built in 1865 by the abbot Migorel. As it is listed as a "Monument Historique", the building is protected. Its bell tower is quite unique, and is home to the virgin Mary and the two little kids from Savoy: Maximon and Mélanie.

The idea might be a bit “twisted”, but it’s well worth seeing! Come and admire some fifty “spiral” chimneys made from local brick. Born in 1820 in La Jarcière, and the only child of farmers, Désiré GUILLEMARE was elected mayor from 1852 until 1904. A tireless benefactor, he was the “constructor” of Saint Ouen – nicknamed “Guillemarville”. He had the “Union Bridge” built over the River Iton, and paid by private donations, then a town hall, a school, a cemetery, a post office... He brought the railway to the town, a company of firemen. On the town square, the “Phare Sollerot” is a 14-m column that lit up the town. At the top can be seen the crowning of the Maiden, firemen and a civil marriage. Below are inscribed all the achievements and the names of the subscribers who helped Mr Guillemare create a picturesque village: Saint-Ouen-sur-Iton!

Beautiful castle made out of bricks and standstones, covered by a very high slate roof. In front of it the Etang du Mirror in which the castle's elegant and pure Louis XIII style specimen, is reflected. Unguided tour of the outside.

Take a little detour to see the Buat Tower, something unique in Normandy, a remnant of the French communications system in the early 1800s, and designed by Claude Chappe in 1794. CHAPPE telegraphy is based on the principle of visual communication over long distances, transmitted by a system of articulated arms along a line of stations set up every 10km. The Buat Tower was built with local materials: the walls are made of flint, with a quicklime and sand coating, using typical materials from Pays d'Ouche. Chappe Telegraph Day: 1st Sunday in June.

This site was originally a production facility before being transformed into a memorial to the men, women, and children who worked in the forges. The owners offer a guided tour to discover the fantastic history of the Longny forges. Reservation required.

Church rebuilt in the 15th century. Tower from the 16th century which is the interesting asset of the place. Inside: Monumental main altar, lateral altarpieces from the old "chartreuse du Val-Dieu.

The service area for motorhomes is located at the entrance of the municipal campground of St Maurice. The Municipal Campsite is in the town with local shops and next to a fishing pond, it runs alongside the N12 and therefore has very quick and easy access.

Camping de la Poste, with its 21 pitches, welcomes campers and motorhome owners year-round, close to the town centre and main shops. The spacious pitches are separated by hedges and all have electrical hook-ups. The campsite is located 50 metres from the communal pond. Reception is available at the town hall, just across the road, from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, or self-parking outside of these hours.
