Explore this walking and cycling path, a bucolic 19.5-km-long stabilised sand route created along a former railway. It begins in Custines at the end of the Rue Claude Le Lorrain cul-de-sac, which has around twenty parking spaces, and currently ends in Nomeny. It runs through the lovely Mauchère valley, which takes its name from the little 8-km-long stream that runs through Custines, Malleloy, Faulx and Montenoy. The rolling countryside offers viewpoints over the orchards, fields, villages and woods. This “Voie Verte” path takes you on a discovery tour of local rural animals, including sheep, cows and horses. In fact, there is a strong probability that you will come across riders on the section that is open to them, near to the Diapason and Paquis stables in Faux.

Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Rich in the Gallo-Roman past of Arlon, the museum houses an impressive collection that bears witness to the daily life of this period.One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments.These blocks and the objects from Roman craftsmanship will teach you more about daily life at that time.

Just outside Nancy, stands a unique testimony to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in Lorraine. This exceptional site, named Fléville, offers visitors a superb 30-meter-high keep set against a beautiful Renaissance facade, often compared to Azay le Rideau. This cheerful, refined architecture is home to many treasures, including Renaissance woodwork, a collection of 18th-century tapestries, the prestigious Hall of Coat-of-Arms of the Dukes of Lorraine, the royal apartments dedicated to the King of Poland, Duke of Lorraine Stanislas Leszczynski, and a suite of intimate rooms evoking the life that still goes on there. This beautiful building is also a family home, inhabited by the same family for over two centuries, giving it a warm, lively atmosphere. It adjoins a garden classified as a Remarkable Garden, with an 18th-century Orangery, adorned with a marvellous 17th-century trompe l'oeil recently restored. Special attention is paid to children, with knight and princess costumes and a play booklet for a fun and educational visit. The château is currently closed.

The romantic 20-hectare park, designed by Choulot, surrounds the château like a green bower. It follows on from an 18th-century garden created by an emulator of Lenôtre. You'll appreciate the grand perspectives, serpentine paths, skylights, water mirrors and fabriques, copses and groves, not forgetting the island and its pretty Art Nouveau bridge. Although the exotic species (tulip trees) have disappeared with age and time, some beautiful species remain, notably pines. A planting program is still underway to keep with tradition. And next to the garden with its rose garden and fruit trees, at the rear of the 17th-century Orangerie, stands a recently restored trompe l'oeil, evoking the painted décor that undoubtedly served as the backdrop for 18th-century festivities.

Completely open to its surroundings, the Grand Parc de l'Embanie is a pleasant place to stroll, with wide-open spaces, remarkable trees, playgrounds and a sports area, the Moulin and Frocourt streams, pony pastures and allotments at the entrance. A discovery trail through the Grand Parc, starting from the events area, leads to 13 specimens identified by a signposting sheet. The remarkable row of tetter willows lining the Frocourt and Moulin streams is worthy of note for the number of trees in an urban area. They also constitute a natural reservoir of biodiversity. The majestic stature of the three-hundred-year-old oaks can be seen from the chemin de la grande charrière or the bois Banal, where you can get up close and personal. There are benches at every step, allowing visitors of all ages to relax and admire the surrounding flora and fauna. Another point of interest in the park is the Etang de l'Embanie, a 3,000 m2, 2-metre-deep artificial lake created at the end of 1970. It is fed by the Moulin stream. The banks of the pond are covered with a varied vegetation where rare species (Bald Cypress), shimmering shrubs and luxuriant grasses blend harmoniously. The site is home to numerous plant and animal species, typical of the region's natural heritage. The landscape changes with the seasons. The Parc de l'Embanie is also a lively place for families, with regular events such as Saveurs Nature, the Easter egg hunt and Saint-Jean bonfires.

Opposite the washhouse, the Parc du Tonneau, in the street that gives it its name, was once the pleasure garden of the Georgel estate, a handsome nobleman's residence built at the end of the 18th century. The building has undergone modifications over the decades, but the park has retained its ornamental trees, fruit trees, pond and rockeries, all of which contribute to the charm of this listed wooded area. Bought by the town council, it was opened to the public in 2014 and is part of the Refuges LPO network.

This park was deliberately created in the city center on a site originally intended for housing. Covering 16 hectares, it offers a veritable haven of greenery, with publicly accessible lawns, tall trees and thousands of perennials and seasonal flowers. It is crossed by a stream called "le Brichambeau", which rises at the foot of the MJC Lorraine and was once lost in the marshes of "Haut de Quemine". It is home to carp, tench, perch, trout, fry and water turtles, as well as a colony of ducks such as Mallards, Souchets and Carolins. The park is also classified as a "Refuge L.P.O" (Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux). Twelve entrances provide access to this typically Vandopérian promenade.

In Neuves-Maisons, the mine museum Val de Fer is the memory of the miners and is situated in a clearing of 5 hectares that overlooks the Moselle river. A gallery museum of 1000 meters, an iron ore stock in a huge gallery – recently extracted – and an old building “Zublin” from the thirties where the iron ore was put into tip trucks before transport to the blast furnaces. The Brabois plateau is a relief located mainly within the commune of Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy and Villers-lès-Nancy, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle département, south-west of the Nancy conurbation. With a surface area of around 500 hectares, the plateau is mostly coniferous woodland.

Jean-Marie Pelt Botanical Garden ( called before Botanical Garden of Montet or the Jardin Botanique du Montet), is an authentic living museum of plants, gracing the outskirts of the Nancy urban area. Created in 1975, the gardens and conservatory have a dual scientific and cultural mission. Extending over 27 hectares, the garden grows over 12,000 plants from every continent giving visitors an idea of the extraordinary resources of the plant world. A variety of collections allow visitors to familiarise themselves not only with the plants they find in their own gardens, but also with the native species of distant countries. Erected in the heart of Vandoeuvre, the Domaine du Charmois and its three-hectare park are one of the jewels in the town's crown. Surrounded by high walls, the Parc du Charmois is in the tradition of late 19th-century bourgeois parks. The park's "English-style" design, with its winding paths, is intended to create the illusion of wilderness. With its rare tree species, monumental flowerbeds, stream and elegant spillway basin, it's a delightful place to stroll. Declared a free refuge by the French League for the Protection of Birds, it is home to dozens of species, including blackbirds, bullfinches, chaffinches, blue tits, nuthatches, creepers, green woodpeckers and spotted woodpeckers. A small curiosity: an authentic English telephone booth is installed in the park. It was acquired by the City of Vandoeuvre from the former Nancy Telecom Museum, in a nod to its twinning with England. In the middle of the park is the Domaine du Charmois, a former private residence probably built by Désiré Bourgon, a member of the Ecole de Nancy, on the site of an earlier château built in 1725 by Claude Joseph Gilles dit le Provençal (painter to Stanislas) and destroyed in 1895. Today, it is a venue for seminars, conferences, exhibitions, cocktail parties, etc. Next door, the Charmois farmhouse has been converted into a municipal hall.

Camping Le Brabois will be exceptionally open for the Saint-Nicolas celebrations. This extended opening will run from November 15 to December 15, 2025. During this period, the campsite will be open exclusively to self-contained motorhomes, with a maximum capacity of 58 vehicles on stabilized pitches. We would like to inform you that the usual services (sanitary facilities, snack bar, swimming pool) will not be available. The only services available will be access to electricity and the motorhome drainage point.
