Pleasant hike in the forest. The panorama embraces the entire Mont-Blanc range. The view is very beautiful on the Mer de Glace. Follow the signs for the Floria from the route des Nants. Once at the refreshment bar, continue on the path that climbs slightly and cross the Couloir des Lanchers. Stay continuously on the left side of the cable car and pass the Praz des Violles. The path crosses, then uses the ski run to reach the Flégère located above the Cornua forest. Departure also possible from Les Praz or Les Tines. Le Dard is a superb waterfall towering 20 meters high at an altitude of 1,233 meters. It offers a beautiful viewpoint about 45 minutes from the centre of Chamonix. View over the Aiguilles Rouges range, the Les Bossons glacier and Mont-Blanc. From Le Grepon car park in Chamonix, turn right on the "Chemin à Batioret » path that leads to the Fabrique des Sonnettes Devouassoud bell workshop by Route Blanche. Cross the footbridge over the torrent and climb up towards Les Molliasses. Ignore the forest track on the left, and turn right as far as the Tunnel access road. Follow it for 50 meters or so then head left along the short cut for a short distance. Continue uphill through the woods, ignoring the path on the right that comes from Les Pélerins. Take the footbridge over the Dard stream and carry on up to the chalet.

A small but splendid body of water, Lac Bleu enchants hikers who are fond of mountain lakes and also impresses visitors who stop off at the Plan de l'Aiguille on their way up to the Aiguille du Midi. An easy trail that starts from the arrival point of the Plan de l'Aiguille cable car (about 15 minutes), Lac Bleu is set in a beautiful verdant landscape enhanced by the rocks and crystal-clear waters. Lac Cornu is a mountain lake located between the summit of the Index chairlift and Planpraz. The neighbouring Lacs Noirs are just ten minutes away. Located about 10 minutes from the Black Lakes. The Lac Cornu is snowed in or iced over almost 9 months of the year! It is a quiet and peaceful place from which you will be able to see most of the time, a beautiful band of wild ibexes, hanging on the walls surrounding this mountain lake.

A natural site, the glacier descends in a direct line from the summit of Mont Blanc (4805), the highest Alpine peak, by a cascade of ice in levels up to the altitude of 1425 meters, the lowest in the Alps for the terminal tongue of a glacier. The vertical drop is the largest in the world, for a glacier descending in one piece from the top of the summit to its base. Numerous viewpoints allow to admire the color and the purity of the ice, the lateral moraines, the seracs and sometimes the serac falls.

The natural site of the Mer de Glace comes from the glaciers of Leschaux and Géant. The Mer de Glace is the largest glacier in France: 7 km long, 40 km2 in area, 200 m thick, altitude 1913 m. Soak up the high mountain atmosphere of the place, contemplating the Drus (3754m), and the Grandes Jorasses (4208m), mythical summits that have seen so many mountaineers illustrate themselves in their faces. In 1741, the Englishmen Windham and Pocock, ignoring the local superstitions, visited the famous "glaciers" of the Chamonix valley, considered at the time as haunts of demons. Despite dire predictions, they came down alive and described for the first time what they called the Mer de Glace. 1880, the Grand Hôtel du Montenvers was inaugurated, the time when mules and sedan chairs brought the first tourists to the site, at an altitude of 1913m. In 1892, the project to build a railroad to reach Montenvers was launched. It aroused fierce opposition from Chamonix residents who feared the alteration of their valley and wanted to protect the jobs of the guides and muleteers. 1908, on August 9th, the line opened up to the place called "Caillet".

Nestled at the southern end of the Aiguilles Rouges massif, in the commune of Les Houches, the Réserve Naturelle de Carlaveyron is home to a mosaic of environments favorable to numerous species. The Carlaveyron Nature Reserve is located at the southern end of the Aiguilles Rouges massif, in the commune of Les Houches. Its 598 hectares have been protected since 1991. The Carlaveyron plateau is a veritable sanctuary of biodiversity. The altitude, relief and soil conditions are conducive to the development of wetlands: peat bogs, low marshes and ponds. These environments are home to the Cordulie des Alpes, a dragonfly emblematic of high-altitude wetlands, as well as remarkable plants such as the Droséra, the Rubanier à feuilles étroites and the Laîche de Magellan - a rare plant found in France only in Savoie and Haute-Savoie. Amphibians such as the Red-legged Frog and the Alpine Newt also find refuge here; the latter is dressed in its nuptial finery of glowing red hues as breeding approaches. Located at 1120m above les Houches, on the sunny side facing the Mont Blanc massif. It can accommodate 28 people, with the option of 1/2 board or self-catering. The gite was completely renovated in 2008, but on the first floor, the living areas remain as they were in the old gite two hundred years ago.

Rustic and typical chalet (250 years old), large kitchen and large space upstairs, remained in the spirit of the time, traditional and friendly. It has remained almost as it was two centuries ago. Le Vieux Grassonnet can accommodate 19 people: individuals, small or large groups... A kitchen, dining room, living room and the barn in summer enable guests to be totally independent.

A large chalet for classes, groups and families Le Nouveau Grassonnet can accommodate 38 people thanks to its large living areas, including a dining room and games room. With its fireplace and lounges, including the "Pêle", this chalet offers warm, friendly spaces. Situated on the Tour des Fiz, the Tour du Pays du Mont Blanc and the Tour des Aiguilles Rouges, the refuge de Moëde offers a stopover overlooking the Mont Blanc range. The refuge offers basic shelter for hikers, with shared dormitories and rudimentary sanitary facilities. The services provided at the refuge are limited, and one should not expect comfortable amenities. However, the refuge offers a strategic location for hikers wishing to stop off in the area and enjoy the panoramic views. Meals on offer are simple and limited in quantity, in keeping with supply conditions at altitude. Reservations at the refuge are recommended due to limited capacity. All in all, the Moëde Anterne refuge offers basic accommodation for hikers wishing to explore the Tour des Fiz region.

Situated close to the arrival of the Mont Blanc Tramway, the Nid d'Aigle refuge, built in a circular arc, is particularly well integrated into the landscape. Facing the Pointe Percée, the highest point in the Aravis massif, and dominated by the Aiguilles du Goûter (3,863m) and Bionnassay (4,052m), our terrace is an ideal place for contemplation. The impressive Bionnassay glacier is just a stone's throw away: early risers are likely to come across an ibex on its moraine. Climbers returning late from the roof of Europe are always welcome: they can even reward themselves with a fondue! The dormitories are equipped with duvets and pillows, so all you need is a personal sheet. Sanitary facilities are available outside the refuge. There are no showers. For those who wish to cook for themselves, we can provide a non-sack room: remember to bring your own cooking equipment. Our cook can also prepare pasta, omelettes and cold meats for you throughout the day.
