The famous rack-and-pinion train from Chamonix takes you to the Montenvers site at 1913 m. A breathtaking panorama of the Mer de Glace glacier, Les Drus and the Grandes Jorasses.
The experience continues with the new gondola lift, which plunges you into the heart of the mountains and takes you to the Ice Cave. This magical gallery, sculpted each year by hand directly into the glacier, will amaze the whole family.
To understand this fascinating world, visit the Glaciorium, an interactive space dedicated to glaciology and the history of the Mer de Glace.
Allow 2 to 3 hours for the complete visit (including travel time and the cave).
• Several dining options are available on site:
o Montenvers Refuge Restaurant: For a Savoyard or traditional meal. o Le Panoramique: Restaurant with breathtaking views of the glacier.
o Bar des Glaciers: For a quick bite.
And the legendary Hôtel Refuge du Montenvers for an unforgettable night.
