Comme son nom l'indique, La Vélomaritime® est un itinéraire résolument tourné vers la mer. Elle valorise les sites naturels du littoral, mais aussi le patrimoine historique et culturel, la multitude d'activités de plein air, la richesse de la gastronomie entre terre et mer, les ports et les stations balnéaires. Sur ce tronçon, La Vélomaritime vous amène à la rencontre de géants avec les beffrois, les phares et le Dragon de Calais. Elle vous conduira jusqu’à la réserve naturelle du Platier d’Oye avant d’atteindre la dernière étape à Gravelines. Ce tronçon est relativement plat. Attention à la sortie de Calais, vous traverserez un rond-point au trafic routier important. Vous roulez sur une bande cyclable sur 1,7km. Vous roulez sur une piste cyclable sur 2km. Attention, vous devez rouler sur un grand rond-point fréquenté. Vous rejoindrez la piste cyclable sécurisée qui est sur la gauche (sortez du rond point, prenez le passage piéton et rejoignez la piste cyclable). Vous rejoignez la piste cyclable. Vous roulez sur des voies partagées à très faible trafic. Tournez à gauche Impasse Eole.  Vous roulez sur une piste cyclable. Vous roulez sur un chaucidou. Vous roulez sur une route à faible trafic.

C'est par la Véloroute des marais de débute l'Eurovélo 5, en France. Aménagée en voie verte, la Véloroute est idéale pour une sortie en famille. De Coulogne à Guînes, vous longerez en partie le canal de Guînes et une ancienne voie ferrée. Si vous avez besoin de faire une petite pause, profitez des tables de pique-nique le long de la voie verte. Continuez ensuite votre chemin jusqu'à Ardres où nous vous conseillons de vous rendre aux lacs pour déguster une bonne glace ou faire un tour de pédalo. Et si vous souhaitez aller plus loin, suivez les panneaux de l'EV5 jusqu'à Audruicq pour 10 km de plus ! Attention, si vous partez de Coulogne, ne prenez pas trop de vitesse dans la descente, elle précède un virage en épingle. La véloroute est sur voie verte (c'est-à-dire sans véhicule motorisé) de Coulogne à Guînes. Au-delà, la route peut-être sur voie partagée. None Altitude : 3 m Altitude : 12 m

A landmark on the Opal Coast, Cap Blanc-Nez sits majestically between Wissant and Sangatte. The summit of the cape is now accessible to people with reduced mobility, with a loop of around 1 km.At the summit, you can admire an obelisk commemorating the “Dover Patrol”, which protected shipping convoys during the First World War.Viewpoints have been set up on former blockhouses, offering a breathtaking view of the Pas-de-Calais Strait. On a clear day, you can also see the English coastline. Another belvedere offers a view of the Fond Pignon site, a vast artificial body of water left over from the digging of the Channel Tunnel.

A short family walk with the option of extending the route by 500m to go to the heights of Cap Blanc-Nez around the Dover Patrol and/or to descend to the Cran d'Escalles beach at the foot of Cap Blanc-Nez. The Platier d'Oye National Nature Reserve is a leading bird sanctuary. Every year, thousands of birds stop here to migrate or to breed. A 3 km trail (round trip) allows you to discover the richness of the site, thanks in particular to two ornithological observatories.The wooden walkway (decking) allows you to cover part of the site and reach the top of two blockhouses, offering a breathtaking view of the reserve, the sea and the polder. The path is accessible to wheelchair users and the visually impaired.

Located between Calais and Gravelines, the Oye Plage Nature Reserve has been shaped by the sea, sand and wind a few centuries ago. Protected from the action of the waves, the site reaches a maximum altitude of 2 meters (outside the dunes which culminate between 10 and 15 meters) above the sea level. The nature reserve covers 391 hectares This vast polder is the first French stop for birds of passage en route to their winter quarters. Huge and intimate at the same time, this natural area is undoubtedly one of the first ornithological jewels of the Pas-de-Calais. This protected natural area, between land and sea, contains an important biological richness resulting from the interactions between these two elements. The interventions carried out on the site are primarily focused on maintaining this biodiversity, mainly towards plants and birds. For this area, we set up a pasture by different hardy species (Cattle and Pony Highlands, Sheep Shetlands) resistant to the climatic conditions of our latitudes. This allows the maintenance of a mosaic of habitats favorable to the bird species that frequent the reserve. Late season export mowing also plays an important role in maintaining a "poor" soil favorable to a specific and very rare flora. The free evolution of water spaces contributes, through their temporary summer drying, to the development of plant species that depend on these events. It also promotes access to food resources that many birds come to collect by digging the mud.

The lighthouse Gravelines was completed in 1843, its first head guard, Jean Sailly lights the rapeseed oil lamp in September of the same year. The tower, 30 meters high, is built of bricks whitewashed to protect the material from the spray. The sailors having trouble to locate it, in 1932, she is dressed in the black spiral which always colors it. The house at the foot of the tower welcomes the families of the two lighthouse keepers until 1985, when the last one retired. Since then, the lighthouse is no longer in use, it is replaced by beacons on the jetties of the channel. Acquired by the City of Gravelines in 2004, the lighthouse and the guardians' house are now open to the public. In its enclosure there is a guardhouse from the Smogglers camp and a blockhouse set up by the Germans during the Second World War.

Since 1982, the Gravelines Museum of Original Drawing and Printmaking remains the only museum in France devoted solely to printmaking. Each temporary exhibition shows the diversity of the practice of printmaking, its dynamism and its timeliness. The recent techniques of image creation and printing still promise a very bright future for this art that is both intimate and generous.

The region chosen to host the Tourville project obviously had to answer to a historical legitimacy: to correspond to an area where this type of ship could have been built in the 17th century. Under Louis XIV, five large arsenals, Toulon, Rochefort, Brest, Le Havre and Dunkirk were intended for the construction of the kingdom's warships. The coast of Dunkirk, facing England and Holland, occupied a place of strategic importance and was the object of all the attention of Louis XIV who entrusted engineers Vauban and De Combes the task of developing the arsenal of Dunkirk and the fortified places of Gravelines and Bergues.
