Domaine de Roquerousse: Unveil the Charms of Salon-de-Provence

Between scrubland, olive groves and views, a nice walk at the intersection of massifs surrounded by birdsongs! At the Gilouse fountain, cross the road and take the DFCI track that rises in front of the fountain. Follow the red and white markings (GR®).). 1 - At the junction, turn left on the gravel path down below. After the gate, continue straight and cross the second gate. 2 - At the crossroads, leave behind the gate on your left and continue to the road sign of the department. Follow the direction of "Lamanon par les crêtes du défends". " 3 - At the fork, follow the left path rising and then turn right at the next intersection and begin the steep slope. 4 - At the column, continue to follow the markings and turn left. Then continue straight on the wide track. 5 - At the crossroads where the tank "Charlotte" is located, turn right and follow the trail named "Eyguières par le chemin du défends". Then take the small path off to the right and begin the descent. 6 - Cross the gate, turn right and continue on the track. 7 - Turn right when the path splits in two. At the concrete road, turn right and continue for a few meters on the hill before turning left on the small trail. Continue until the D17 without entering the private property. 8 - At the paved road, turn right on the Chemin de la Fontaine Gilouse and end the hike.

Admire the imposing Opies and cliffs of Mont Menu ! Back to the car park, climb to the right, between the Chabaud arena and the cemetery, the marked path of the Col of Melet tagged GR® and PR. Follow this marked path for 1 km, cross the channel of the valley of Baux and join an intersection where is implanted a panel of the Department. 1- fork right on the tarmac path marked PR, following the panel "Eyguières par le vallon des Glauges 7.8 km". Cross again the channel, then at the bend to the left take straight on the path of St-Pierre-de-Vence, marked blue and green. Follow it on 1.5 km. 2- At the end of the road, turn left on the paved road Glauges, marked PR. At the entrance to the domain vallon des Glauges, leave the paved road to climb the path on the right, marked PR, which passes through the vineyards. Join 500 m further an intersection with a DFCI barrier. 3- Pass the barrier to the right and follow this marked path PR. Leave a property on the right, pass a second DFCI barrier and cross the next junction. 300 m further, stay on the left and join a cross a few meters lower. 4- borrow the path to the left, signposted GR®. Continue straight for 1.2 km, leaving aside the different paths encountered, and join the D17 road. (Caution, traffic!) Turn left on this marked GR®, follow it for 300 m and turn left on a tarred road. Find 150 m further the intersection with the panel of the Department and the path of the Col de Melet. Resume this path and return to the starting point.

A little haven of peace, where nature lovers will be able to enjoy singing live birds in this preserved environment ! From the car park, take the path between two metal poles. After the grove of pines, continue straight through the crossroads of tracks. 1- Follow the path on the right and join the intersection between the D71 (Alleins road) and the Chemin des Marmets. Take a left on this paved road and continue for 1 km to the houses. 2- Take the path on the left that passes between different buildings.. Once in the massif, stay on this track, leaving on the side all alternative paths. To arrive at the water tower, with its point of view on the Opies and the lowland of Roquemartine. 3- Turn around. 300 m further, stay to the right, then just after follow the path on the left. Continue for 700 m then at the crossroads after the house turn right and join the departure car park.

Come crisscross Senas' little trails, at the mercy of the Provençal hedges and the cultures they hide ! From the Tourist Office, take the avenue Jean Jaurès on the left to the town hall. Turn right on Avenue Désiré Pey and then on the left the passage Massart. 1- (Caution) continue on the avenue Louis Pascal. At the roundabout head straight under the motorway bridge, then turn immediately left on the path of Perrier Redon. Continue for 500 m. 2- Turn left on the path of the cabaret des Boeufs, direction la Peyronnette. Cross the stop and continue until the level crossing. 3- Take the Patis path on the right and immediately on your left the path of the Bressières Est area. Go up to the highway and turn right just after. 4- Go right at the next crossing. Continue on the path of Durancette and Dumaine. Take a right at the next intersection. 5- Turn left at the intersection and then right on the Bonfillons Sud road. Continue 200 m, before turning left onto the dirt road of the Crillons channel. 6- Turn left at the bridle with a house in the center and continue for 600m. After a large isolated pine tree, take the path on your left and continue to the road. 7- Take a right on the road to Mallemort, continue for 1 km. Turn right on chemin de l'Etang then continue on Chemin des Ribes and Brayettes. At the STOP turn left and return to the starting point.

An easy walking path around the Opies during which you will easily see all the rare or typical species of the Alpilles. Arriving at the cemetery, cross the gate to take the GR6 marked trail leading away from the village and follow it. Continue straight ahead, leaving the various small paths aside at multiple intersections Stay on this trail that continues to the foothills of the mountain on the left. Arriving to the sheep pen, go straight for 500 m. 1 – Pass the gate which cuts the road and at the crossroads, follow the second marked trail PR (yellow marking) which starts on the left. 400 metres further, turn on the right to go remain on the marked trail going up the hill. 2 – Reaching to the gate, turn to the right, leaving the private property and turn left, to go down the path leading to the domaine du vallon des Glauges. 3 – Reaching to the domaine, continue straight on the road the tour of the wine estate. 4 – At the intersection, turn right and continue for 1.5 km on the gravel path between the vineyards, visible on the right side of the cliff overlooking on the left. 5 – Arriving back on the road, turn right and return to the domaine. (Traffic!) 3 – Turn left at the intersection represented by the reference point number 3 to start the route back.

Climb the foothills of the Alpilles, to admire Aureille and admire landscapes extending as far as the eye can see! From the parking, return on the D25a. Take it on the right towards Eygalières and turn left on the Estandedou road. At the crow's feet, stay on the right, Chemin Saint-Jean, and continue for 400 m. 1- Go right up the path of the water tower. Exceed the tank and continue to a tank. Then take the path on the right for 900 m2- Facing a fork, climb the left path. At the next intersection, take the right one. Continue on this road for 2 km, leaving on your right the lookout tower.3- At the intersection with the GR®6, turn left, then 30 m further, turn to the right. Follow this road for 500 m, then fork on the trail to the left. 4- For the next two intersections, take the trail on the left. Carry on on this trail for 2 km. At the end of the path, facing a field of olive trees, take the path on the left.5- At the junction, follow the path on the left, guided by the sign "Aureille 1,5 km". Continue on the same path up to the village and the starting point of the hike.

Take a step back on the emblematic reliefs of the Alpilles thanks to this walk accessible to all and full of sensations! From the parking, return on the D25a. Take it on the right towards Eygalières and turn left on the Estandedou road. At the intersection stay on the right, Saint-Jean path, until the end of the houses 1- Follow the GR® on the right. Take the path on the left at the junction and continue for 4 km until the D24 road, leaving on the sides the paths encountered. 2- Cross the D24 and take a path that goes right up to a collar Go past a wide path that goes to the left and take a path down and parallel to the road. 3- Go up on the D24, pass the small stone bridge and in the bend take the path on the right. At the next crossroads, stay to the left. Just after, climb left and pass a barrier. 4- Continue on this path to another barrier. There, turn left to join the D25a. Get off on the road until after the rocky bars and take the first path on the left. 5- Walk along the fence and the olive trees to a stool. Continue, then at the next junction, turn right twice. Pass an oratory, take the D25a on the left and join Aureille and the starting point.

Little Provençal Versailles as it is named, old mansions, wash houses are authentic features of Lambesc. A 9 km route making you discover the lambescan countryside, by crossing vineyards, orchards, pine and oak forests while revealing the rich village’s architectural heritage.

Between cracks, drailles, surrounded valleys of the southern slope of the Petit Luberon, high places of the epic Vaudoise tragedy of the Luberon. From the Place Maurice Blampignon (party room), go left on the rue des Ecoles (tourist office), turn left on rue de la Mairie then rue du Vieux Four. Continue in front of the "Muse", go left and at the post, turn right. Find the old Mérindol (GR®). Continue on the Chemin de l'Apied. 1- Turn left, advance 60m, and turn right. Weaving through the ruins of the old village and reaching the Vaudoismemorial at the top. Go back up to point 1 and go up the coated road (GR®) to the left. Continue on the stone path. Continue straight ahead at the next crossroad and after 150m turn left on the trail (GR®). Take a path and follow it to the right. Turn left at the next crossroad and then get off. 2- At the "Sadaillan" crossroad, follow the trail on the left, go past the next crossroad and 50m down, turn right on a path. Pass two pins and reach a trail (GR®). Follow it to the left. Continue left and right, then turn left onto the trail. Join the arboretum of the Font de l'Orme. At the exit of the wood, join the trail at the corner of the parking lot. 3- Follow the trail of Saint-Phalez to the right and 150m further on, turn right. 270m higher, follow the trail on the left (GR®). Switch and turn left. Start on a new trail. Turn right, go past a cistern and continue 250m after the pin. 4- Switch left onto the trail. Continue right at the bottom of the valley and reach the top of the gorges of Regalon (pole). Turn right and go up. At the trail, go left. At the top of the valley of La Galère, leave on the right the GR®, pass the pin and reach a cistern then the wide crossroad of "Montagnas" (PR). 5 - Turn left and continue straight ahead. Climb the path that crosses a bump directly, find the trail and reach the old farm of the Mayorques (PR). Continue south (sheep pen), cross the crack. Cross the Ser trail through the rocky path. 6 - At the bottom, take the trail on the left. Continue left and reach the Régalon parking lot (PR). In front of the large oak, turn left and climb to the right the road to La Tulière. Pass the farm and continue along the trail. Find the ruins of the Cachots. Then turn to Petit and then Grand Champeau to the left (PR). 7- Turn left on the road to the Fond de l'Orme. Go along a large wall and then to the right climb a path under the pines (PR). Continue straight on the chemin du Bon Puits. Swing right on the way to the Muse and find the center of Mérindol.

Aromas from pines and scrub, mix of meanders and the tranquillity of the birds. A triumphant Durance cocktail! Cross the second barrier and go straight into the woods. Continue straight at the first intersection and then at the intersection shaped in a Y, take a right. Reach the point of view of the Durance (do not go beyond reason to the cliff edge).!) 1 - Take a right. Continue straight to the next crossing. 2 - Do not miss on the left the path going down to the valley of the Grand Jardin. Go past a house and crops and upon arriving on a small road, go across under the railway track. Take the second road ahead and then the dirt road across (old car park). Cross the little bridge over the old canal of Carpentras. 3 - .Continue straight Reach to another path. Turn left, climb the dam by the stairs and reach the bird observatory. Retrace your steps and turn left at the foot of the staircase. Leave behind the track taken at the beginning and continue straight the path at the foot of the dam. On the bridle path, continue on the right along a large field and reach the Carpentras canal. Continue to the right until the end of the dirt road. 4 - Just before the road, turn right, go through the woods and follow the path along the old canal. Come back to the small bridge (point 3). 3 - Take a sharp left and go back to the forest of La Garrigue (point 2) by the route taken at the beginning. 2 - At the top of the steep hill, continue straight. Then take a right to return to the starting point calmly.

Marina with over 200 moorings on the west side of the Etang de Berre. Facing east and backing onto the Heures Claires plateau, this site is home to a nautical base for sailing and windsurfing on the vast Etang de Berre. The terraces of the restaurants and the tranquility of the site are much appreciated by walkers. The port is also a place for festivities: water fleas, "oursinades", guided boat trips in season... Please note: Major redevelopment work has begun at the Port des Heures Claires. In addition to the extension, with 160 additional berths, the entire facility (including the nautical base) is being reconfigured to enable all users to make the most of it. In the distance to the North, on the left of the wide gravel path, Mont Ventoux looms on the horizon. It is the highest peak of the Vaucluse mountains with 1911m of altitude. On the left in the foreground, the tip of the Alpilles chain stands out and on the right is the beginning of the Luberon Regional Nature Park that we see.

The name Eyguières, formerly spelled "Aiguières", name of the first Lords, takes after the Provençal term "Eiguiero" which means "a vase to put water". The groundwaters of the Défends massifs supply water to the three fountains of the village of Eyguières: the Gilouse, the Borme and the Font Vieille. In the distance, the Opies can be spotted, the highest peak of the Alpilles at 498m.

The irrigation canal of Baux Valley, created in the early 20th century, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012. Dedicated to agriculture, it irrigates an area of about 2.800 hectares and contributes to the agricultural development of the plains around the massif: olive groves, vineyards, arboriculture, cereals and vegetables. Its water promotes groundwater recharge and can also be used to fight fires.

The Gilouse source is a natural resurgence stemming from the groundwater of the Défends massifs. This fountain was built in 1774. It feeds a little open-air wash house from 1664, still visible today.

The Castellas of Roquemartine, ie "Castellas of Queen Jeanne" stand opposite to this slope of the massif. These remains form a whole, consisting of the ruins of the castle, the Saint-Sauveur chapel and of the ramparts, built between the 11th and 13th century. The castle belonged to Joanna I of Naples, who reigned in Provence at that time and all of this land is still privately owned.

The Chabaud arenas are located on the site of an old mill built in 1787. The main building of this mill still exists inside the bullring. The aqueduct, which is distinguished outside the arena, was intended to supply the mill with water. Around 1898, no longer reporting sufficient income to the town, the mill is sold to an individual. Auguste Chabaud, last owner of the mill, transforms the infrastructures into arenas, inaugurated on August 8th, 1926.

The Alpine Canal network stretches 119 km from Orgon to the Roubines of Anguillon and Vigueirat. Begun in 1826, its construction was slowed by conflicts of interest and ended in 1875. At the time, it was intended to complete the Canal des Alpines meridionales finished in 1772, to supply water to 18 towns and 40 additional mills. ;

The European bee-eater is characterized by the many colours of which it is adorned : yellow and black head, brown back, belly from blue-green to turquoise-blue, green tail and red iris. Often perched on the top of a dead tree, he can be confused with a swallow from a distance because it flies in the same way, especially to hunt, then he alternates flapping wings and direct flight.

This canal, measuring 53 km long, has been the subject of a long process of reflection and design. Started in 1792, the canal will be put in water a century later, in 1914. To develop human presence and economic activity in the Alpilles, it was important that a hydraulic network irrigate the territory and allow agriculture to develop. This canal alone feeds the southern part of the massif.

The European Roller (Coracias garrulus) is a bird with bright turquoise colours. He is used to roosting on open ground and rushing to catch insects on land or even flying, but he is clumsy on the ground. These are the pirouettes of his nuptial flight that earned him his name. On this occasion, its plumage appears in all its splendor. As early as August, he migrates to southern Africa. His route would go through the Mediterranean and the Sahara.

From the ruins of the buildings of this former royal saltworks, easily accessible, but with authorization, you can access magnificent discovery trails on 4.5 kilometers of hiking trails. The three observatories and the trails are reserved for visitors with an authorization issued to La Capelière. Warning : Photography is regulated throughout the site.
