At the roundabout, opposite the Tourist Office, take Boulevard Tabarin down towards "Tabarin, Vergeron, Gigaro". Turn right into "Rue de l'Eglise" and then take the next turning on the right. At the crossroads, take the footpath opposite on the right, signposted "Plage". Follow the vines on your left. At the crow's feet, take the green lane on your left. Cross the stream on your left, then take the path on your right between the vines. Cross the other stream and take the track in front of you. When you reach the Plage du Débarquement, return to the roundabout and take the Boulevard de la Mer (opposite you, to the left of the Intermarché supermarket) as far as the intersection with the dual carriageway. Turn right towards "Le Village". After the Boulevard de Tahiti, you'll find the picnic and cycle area. Walk along the children's square on the right and continue straight on until you reach the Tourist Office.

An Itinerary to discover the history and architectural heritage of the town between village and nature. On the edge of the vineyard, enjoy the view and the coastal path, (re)discover the beaches of Sylvabelle, Héraclée and Vergeron. Follow the blue signs. At the Croix traffic circle, opposite the Tourist Office, take the underpass, then go down Boulevard Tabarin towards “Tabarin Vergeron Gigaro”. Turn left onto Boulevard des Villas. Just before the bridge, turn right. At the intersection, take the pedestrian lane towards “Les Plages”. Follow the vineyard. At the crosswalk, cross over and turn right. After the bus stop, take the second left, Allée de la Bouillabaisse. Just before the Village Vacances de Vitry sur Seine, take the path on the left. Follow the yellow markings and “Sentier du Littoral” signs. Take the first staircase on the left. Pass the Vergeron and Sylvabelle beaches. At Plage d'Héraclée, take Impasse d'Héraclée. Follow the blue signs. At the end of the impasse, turn left onto Boulevard du Littoral. You'll once again be skirting the Croisien vineyards. Follow the pedestrian lane. At the Sylvabelle traffic circle, continue straight ahead. At the next junction, turn right onto Boulevard Tabarin. Follow the pedestrian lane. Take the same route back to the village.

A hike starting at the village, allowing you to discover the Croisien vineyards and forest. It connects to the GR 51 trail which offers magnificent views of the Gulf of Saint Tropez. Go up the Rue Louis Martin. At the top, turn left into Rue Frédéric Mistral, direction “CCE Air France”. 50 m after the winery, take the path that climbs up on your left. At the gate, enter the vineyard, turn right and walk along the fence to the embankment (walking in the vineyard is strictly forbidden). Follow the path on your right (difficult climb). At the top, take the track in front of you. At the junction with the GR51, with the green tank in front of you, turn left. After the reservoir, turn left, then left again at the crossroads 50 m further on. After a long, steep descent, take the path on the right towards the winery. Return to the village.

Between village and nature, here is a flowery and colorful walk to do in January & February when the mimosas are in season ! There are panoramic views of the hills and the sea-side view will take your breath away. Drive up the Rue Louis Martin. Turn right at the tabacco shop and take the Route du Brost in the direction of the “Gendarmerie”. After the gendarmerie, take the footpath on the left. After the stadium, follow the path to the left. At the asphalt road, turn left downhill. Turn right at “La Galiasse”. Follow the asphalt road over the small bridge. Leave “La Colline des Sarrasins” on your left. Pass “Les Mas de la Galiasse” (on your right). Turn left down the Corniche de la Pinède. At the bottom of the Corniche, cross the road and turn right. Turn left into Allée des Cassis. At the villa “Les Elephants” (on your left), take the 3 steps and the path on the right. At the asphalt road, turn left. Follow the signs to “Le Village”. At the La Croix traffic circle, take the underpass back to the Tourist Office.

In La Londe les Maures, facing the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros Located at the tip of the rocky spur of the Argentière and Pellegrin beaches, in a totally protected area. The coastal underwater world can be discovered on the surface, with fins, mask and snorkel by anyone who can swim. By following the numbered buoys equipped with handrails you will discover the underwater panels presenting the ecosystem. At depths ranging from 0 to 4 metres, there is a wide variety of underwater landscapes (posidonia meadow, cymodocae, rocks, sand, scree...), inhabited by numerous species of fish, molluscs, crustaceans, starfish... The posidonia meadow: this is not a seaweed but a plant with marine flowers. Posidonia plays a very important role in fixing the sandy bottom, thanks to its roots which form a sort of barrier called the "matte" when they mix with the sediments. A real "lung" of the Mediterranean, this plant has been protected since 1988. The underwater trail can be explored on your own from June to September, following the numbered buoys. For the first time, the town of Cavalaire and the Conservatoire du Littoral are offering a special tour of the Maison Foncin every Wednesday. Built by Pierre Foncin, geographer and founder of the Alliance Française, the Maison Foncin, also known as the ‘Casteou dou souleou’ (meaning ‘castle of the sun’), is a landmark in Cavalaire's history.

At the precise spot where the first African commandos landed, at the head of the "Romeo Force", climbing the cliffs of Cape Negro at night, a lava stone commemorative plaque (representing the insignia of the commandos) has been affixed in memory of this glorious episode and in tribute to the first liberators of Le Lavandou. Only visible from the sea, this stele was fixed on the rocks where 35 men took foot shortly after midnight and from where they climbed the steep walls silently to reach the location of the enemy guns which was hundred meters higher. This detachment was led by Captain DUCOURNAU and, first of all, a mountain guide, Sergeant DABOUSSY. Their mission was to establish a bridgehead that will neutralize the coastal batteries and allow the Allied armada, seven hours later, to land in force on the beaches of Provence

Nestling in the heart of the Maures massif, the Chartreuse de la Verne offers a haven of silence, nature and ancient history. In the heart of the Maures massif, shrouded in forest and silence, the Chartreuse de la Verne emerges like a well-kept secret. Founded in 1170 on the ruins of an ancient priory, it has always borne the name Notre-Dame de la Verne. Its stones have withstood fire, pillage, war and the Revolution. Three fires in the Middle Ages reduced it to ashes. Each time, the monks rebuilt. Until 1792, when, forced to flee, they left behind an empty sanctuary, sold as national property. Nature then took over. Wind, rain, oblivion... Until, in 1968, a handful of enthusiasts founded the association Les Amis de la Verne. In 1986, around thirty nuns from the Bethlehem family revived the spiritual vocation of the site. Each of them lives in a hermitage, in silence, prayer and work. Their presence transforms the Carthusian monastery into a place of profound peace, which you feel as soon as you take your first steps. Today, part of the monastery is open to the public. Here you can discover the gatehouse, the bakery, a monk's cell and the 12th-century Romanesque church, the only place where visitors and nuns share a mutual respect and silence. This fine sandy beach was one of the key sites of the Provence Landings for the liberation of France in 1944. This is a wide beach, ideal for family holidays. The beach is supervised by lifeguards from June to September (variable hours depending on season) and you can get there with the free shuttle bus from mid-June to mid-September. The origins of Château de Chausse lie in a beautiful Provencal bastide in the heart of 50 hectares of immaculate forest... In 1986, the estate was purchased and the best grape varieties were selected to cover 15 hectares of land at the heart of the property. In just a few years, Château de Chausse and its exceptional terroir became one of the most renowned estates in France, particularly for its great red wines for ageing. American Charles S. Cohen and his wife Clo, convinced Francophiles, visited this beautiful property in 2016 and immediately sensed its potential. The acquisition of Château de Chausse became an obvious choice for them, who share a very special attachment to Provence. A film buff, Charles S. The Gulf of Saint-Tropez, wine and cinema: an ever-renewed magic that he wanted to magnify at Château de Chausse. Thus, in 2021, Château de Chausse will undertake major renovations to develop wine tourism and improve its production facilities. At the head of the second commando shock composed of Moroccans, Captain THOREL is killed in action at the Fossette August 17, 1944 while participating in the liberation of Le Lavandou. His Moroccan prescription Ben BARK is also fatally injured. The necropolis of La Fossette pays homage to theme, not far from where they both fell.

The night of November 6, 1942, the small beach of La Fossette is the scene of a secret operation that will play a role in the history of the Second World War two years before the landing of Provence. Escaped a few months earlier from the German fortress of Königstein, General GIRAUD embarks on a point with the help of the patron saint Lavandourain Jules CREST and local resistance fighters. Less than 1 mile from Pointe de la Fossette, a British submarine "Seraph" is waiting to take him to Gibraltar from where he will join the French army in North Africa to participate in Torch Operation, which will be a turning moment of the conflict on the Western Front.
