This thematic trail presents few difficulties. It takes about 1 hour to walk these 3.7 kms of discovery (plan the return trip). Hiking itinerary available at the Tourist Office of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer. This path is bordered by reading tables and gives you and your family the opportunity to go exploring the heritage of our indoor landscapes, sometimes unexpected. Starting from the Port de la Madrague, he proceeds in the Conservatoire du Littoral’s properties, between nature and agriculture: local and traditional landscapes, vineyard and Bastide de Nartette, spillway of the dune éolienne plaquée, olive groves, wild orchids, etc. until the beautiful Calanque de Port d’Alon. Throughout the path, you will discover the result of agricultural activities’ maintenance related to the protection of this remarkable environment.

Focus on the "Aires" mill : one of our 5 olds windmills, “Le Moulin des Aires” .It was built around 1762 and 1770, at this time it was called “Moulin de Margot”. On this ground which surrounded it, there was a field of carper tree. In 1985 the municipality bought it and this place was transformed in a play area. The term “Area” suggests the presence of a former threshing wheat area.

Hike to the popular Calanque d'En-Vau. Departure from the Bestouan peninsula in Cassis. The itinerary is difficult, requiring the use of the Portalet passage, redesigned in 2022. The route is considerably shorter than that from Le Logisson. The starting point is the "Balli de Suffren" bus stop. When you get off the bus, turn around and go back a few meters to take Avenue des Calanques on your left. At the next intersection, turn left again to follow the avenue down to the bottom of the Port-Miou Calanque. "Port-Miou" is Provençal for "good harbor", and this deep inlet offers excellent shelter for boats on windy days and in rough seas (1). On your left, you'll see large signs for the Parc National des Calanques marking the start of the path. At the start, it's a wide track that runs for 1 kilometer through a former industrial site, the Solvay stone quarry. Cassis stone is a shell limestone of marine rather than lacustrine origin, highly resistant and therefore highly appreciated as a building material in Provence, before the advent of concrete. The site was in operation until 1982. Along the way, you'll see the Cassis "château" on your left (2). At the crossroads, follow the GR signs (red/white or green). You pass close to the trou du souffleur (3). The path descends through the pines towards the Calanque de Port-Pin (4). [Then two options: 1/ The option chosen for this itinerary is to follow the GR to continue the route to reach the Portalet passage, which leads down to the bottom of the Calanque d'En-Vau (5). 2/ Take a detour (not marked on this itinerary) to explore the En-Vau plateau, discover the former Piolet refuge and enjoy several vertiginous viewpoints overlooking the Calanque d'En-Vau. In this case, follow the blue markers which also lead down to the Portalet descent]. Leave the Calanque de Port-Pin, continuing to follow the GR markers. It climbs until you reach the passage du Portalet. Here, in order to limit the gradual degradation of the path and natural habitats, channel visitor flows and reinforce hiker safety, the National Park authorities have undertaken work to redesign the path. Crossing the Portalet passage is a tricky business. It is therefore important not to deviate from the itinerary and to follow the signs. Once you've reached the bottom of the valley, follow the red markers to reach the coastal part of the Calanque d'En-Vau. Hikers, please don't leave any garbage behind. Don't follow the bad examples that are still recurrent. There are no maintenance workers to collect abandoned garbage. Sooner or later, it will end up in the sea. For the return journey, it's the same route in the opposite direction: follow the red markings up to the Portalet rise. Then green and white/red markings guide you to Port-Miou. One last climb and you're back on the Avenue des Calanques and at the bus stop to return to your car. We would like to thank the ©Parc national des Calanques for permission to use its gpx trail.

The church was built between 1747 and 1748. In its architectural form, it was listed as an historical monument on August, 23 1990. On March, 25 1746, the community of Bandol took the initiative of building, at its own expense, a chapel in the commune. Works began in 1746 and ended in 1748 because of a lack of money. Joseph Suquet, a young builder, was in charge of the works. The main part of the church was completed. It includes a building measuring 34 meters long, 9 meters wide and 12 meters high, the dome reached 16 meters high. The church, after having been blessed on October, 18 1748 by his Grace Henri de Belsunce, was erected under the name and title of Saint - François de Sales by ordinance of June, 5 1751. The central nave soon became too small for the church activities. Spurred on by two fraternities, two side chapels were added. On December, 27 1751, the Saint - Elme Fraternity of Fishermen obtained the authorization to build a chapel next to the central nave and to open an arch to link them. In May 1772, the priest Garden wanted to build another chapel for the Saint - Vincent de Paul fraternity for wine-growers and coopers. Joseph Suquet began the construction in 1782 and completed it in 1783.

In 1873, it was decided to set up a simple entrenched post on the Gros Cerveau massif, armed with long-range artillery pieces. In 1890, two fortified structures were built: the Pointe de la Pointe and the Gros Cerveau. These buildings have a similar architectural organization, with the following artillery positions: 4 155 mm long guns, 4 120 mm guns, 4 95 mm guns and 2 mortars. Equipped with a light enclosure preceded by a ditch, the gun emplacements are cut directly into the rock and connected by underground galleries. The barracks are equipped with rainwater tanks that can hold 160 m3. The Big Brain structure received a garrison of 250 men from the 2nd Battalion of the 115th Territorial Infantry Regiment and 260 men of the 7th Battery and the 13th Battery on foot artillery. The two barracks of the Pointe de la Pointe structure were capable of accommodating one officer and 108 men each.
