This trail takes you through a landscape typical of the Tarn valley: fields, vineyards and woods. There are plenty of views of the surrounding villages and, on clear days, even of the Pyrenees. There are regions where the pigeon is king. This bird (Lo colomb, in Occitan) was prized for its meat, but also for its droppings, which were used as a powerful fertiliser in the Gaillacois vineyards and fields. Many ‘colombièrs’ (dovecotes) have also left their mark on the Tarn landscape. You will see several around the village. There is a shorter alternative route from point 3 that joins the itinerary between points 5 and 6. The return journey takes you past the 19th-century Château de Labastidié.

The Sentier des Quatre Châteaux (Four Castles Trail) takes you through the village of Sénouillac and the surrounding area, passing close to a number of private châteaux. Along the way, you'll also discover the vine-covered hillsides that have made this region so rich and famous. The name of the route refers to four châteaux: de la Bonnette, de Linardié, de Saint-Martial and the most famous: Château de Mauriac. The latter is the only one open to the public. The painter Bistes bought it in the 1960s and completely restored this 15th-century building, which is thought to have been built by the Templar Guiriaudus de Mauricius. During the 9.5 kilometres of this loop, starting from the village of Cestayrols (near Gaillac), a great diversity of landscapes made up of vineyards, valleys and sunflower fields will be offered to your eyes. On the stony plateau, the old monks' path crosses a subtle landscape. Crops, groves, vines, paths and traditional buildings make up the harmonious and luminous assembly of a small-scale landscape. Cahuzac sur Vère is a charming little village nestling on the banks of the River Vère. Take the trail to discover the local heritage and the beautiful rolling countryside on the Gaillacois hillsides. The wash-houses had a social role, and were known as the ‘women's parliament’. They were used not only to wash clothes, but above all to rinse them. Each family was allocated the use of a washhouse. You can see three of them along the route. ‘Granejouls’ comes from ‘Grenier de Jules’. The construction of the Toulouse-Capdenac railway brought to light a number of Roman-era infrastructures, which are on display at the Musée St Raymond in Toulouse. This self-catering cottage on an organic wine farm in Andillac (Tarn) is "a haven of calm". Domaine de Peyres-Combe, located at the start of the Cordais plateau, is on the GR36/GR46 long-distance hiking trail (Chemin de Compostelle). It can be the starting point for walks and hikes or mountain bike rides (marked trails). You can discover the Domaine's wines, which have been produced under AB-controlled organic farming methods since 1999, how they are made and how the vines are tended, and share the passion of Victor, your host winemaker. The 108m² gîte, with its stone walls and exposed beams, is set in quiet, rolling countryside on the Bastides Albigeoises circuit, 1km from the Château Musée du Cayla, 12km from Cordes, 14km from Gaillac, 25km from Albi, and 1 hour from the "pink city" of Toulouse. The house was renovated in 2013 and is therefore completely new, to accommodate up to eight people. It comprises two bedrooms with double beds, one bedroom with bunk beds and a cot, a large fully-equipped kitchen with dining area, a spacious living room with a sofa that converts into a bed, two bathrooms and two toilets. The house also offers two outdoor areas: a courtyard at the rear of the house and a garden around 50 m away. The small medieval village of Salles sur Cérou is ideally located, close to the city of Cordes sur ciel and 25km from the UNESCO World Heritage city of Albi and the Gaillacois vineyards. You can also explore the region on foot or by mountain bike, thanks to the many footpaths.
