The St Christophe Caves Historic Site

In the heart of the Chartreuse Valley, hides the historical site of the Saint-Christophe Caves, a condensed cultural and natural heritage, ancestral passage of water and men. Guided tours of 2 caves and an ancient Roman road. Walks, hikes, prehistory game trails, caving activities, bar, store - you'll find what you're looking for on our site for an unforgettable day out with the whole family! Situated on the border between Savoie and Dauphiné, our site takes you on a tour of the Voie Sarde, an ancient Roman road redeveloped in the 17th century along a canyon-like gorge, and the 2 caves of Saint Christophe. The first invites you to take a meander through a meander full of giant potholes, while the second, a refuge according to legend for the famous smuggler Mandrin, can be crossed on a footbridge 20m above the ground, offering a panoramic view. Access to the caves is by guided tour only. In the reception area, a free permanent exhibition presents the Fru site, home to the first prehistoric men in the Chartreuse! To discover this prehistoric habitat, you can follow a 2h30 hike punctuated by 12 play points for the whole family: "Sur la piste d'Azil et Magda" (On the trail of Azil and Magda). Further information at www.grottes-saint-christophe.com/randonnees-et-balades For even more thrills, try acrospeleo, a combination of via ferrata and caving under the ceiling of the lower cave: www.grottes-saint-christophe.com/speleologie-et-acrospeleologie The bar and reception building are accessible to the motor-impaired. Light meals available in July and August. Visits to the caves and the Voie Sarde are not accessible to the motor-impaired.

Huttopia Domaine du Lac

With your feet in the water, Huttopia Domaine du Lac invites you to enjoy a unique experience thanks to its private beach and its 180° view over Lake Aiguebelette. Here, rooms, wooden chalets and tents blend harmoniously into a preserved natural setting. On the shores of the turquoise waters of Lake Aiguebelette, in the heart of Savoie and the Avant-Pays Savoyard, Huttopia Domaine du Lac brings a fresh perspective to nature getaways, combining hotel comfort with authenticity. Just 1 hour and 15 minutes from Lyon, the site enjoys an ideal location, close to the village of Lépin-le-Lac and its train station, reachable within a 10-minute walk. In this unique place, entirely oriented towards the lake, everyone can choose how they wish to experience their stay: the charm of an elegant room in the Maison Ronde, the privacy of a fully equipped independent chalet, or the simplicity of a Toile & Bois tent, featuring real beds, a kitchenette, and for some, a private bathroom. Whatever the accommodation, the experience remains the same: a close connection with nature combined with simple, welcoming comfort. The site extends down to the shoreline, offering direct access to swimming via a small private grassy beach, perfect for relaxing, reading, playing pétanque or volleyball, or simply admiring the beauty of Lake Aiguebelette. The Maison Ronde, an iconic building of Lépin-le-Lac, features a friendly bar where guests can gather after a day outdoors, while a food truck offers simple, local cuisine during the warmer months. In summer, a nature-based activity program invites both young and old to discover this preserved environment, surrounded by exceptional natural spaces and a Natura 2000 area that enhances the uniqueness of the site. Between moments of relaxation by the water, long evenings on a chalet terrace, early morning walks, and gourmet breaks at the bar, Huttopia Domaine du Lac is an ode to the art of living. Here, everyone sets their own pace, guided by the landscapes, the light, and the peaceful atmosphere that makes Lake Aiguebelette such a special place. A destination to reconnect with nature, with others, and with what truly matters.
