In 1985, Philippe Gérard, a master brewer from a very early age, bought a little farm in Ellezelles. After eight years of hard work, the Ferme des Collines was transformed into a brewery. 2006: the brewery merged with the Brasserie des Géants. The Brasserie des Légendes was born... Simplicity and tradition are two of the company’s core values. Nothing more than water, barley malt, hops, yeast and dextrose, the basic ingredients of beer, are used to create this witches’ brew. The brewing process involves infusion, the oldest method known to man. The vats and cauldrons are made of red copper which, for the visitor, adds shimmering colour to the range of flavours. Even the tasting room has adopted this coppery atmosphere. Simplicity and tradition also come in to the way this clever brew is packaged: 33cl bottles hand-closed using rustic china stoppers and stored in wooden crates. The range includes five varieties, from the sweet Blanche des Saisis to the robust Hercule... named after the famous detective. The tavern is open from Thursday to Sunday as well as on bank holidays. Refreshments served non-stop. Tours available for groups who have booked in advance.
