Departing from the Medieval city of Domfront, and passing through Lonley l’Abbaye, this 30-km bike ride will take you through mysterious and secret sites where there’s a scent of legend in the air.

Near the lake, the legend of Count Hugues de Tessé will be retold. Along the hedgerows, learn how the wild plants of the “bocage” are used. In the pear orchard, discover the different varieties and hear the sound of the sculptor who works this precious wood. A nine-stage route This route is a 1.6-km pedestrian trail, punctuated with nine fixed stages, which combine audio and dramatised scenes and testimonies. From this path, you can also access the Andaines Forest and the unique site of the Sainte Geneviève chapel (1.8 km) or Bagnoles-de-l'Orne (6 km) via the GR 22.

Departing from Saint Mars d'Egrenne this 24-km circuit is a great idea for a bike ride with friends or family to discover the Orne bocage.

Discover this wonderful site in which the legend tells of the love of King Arthur and his wife. They settled in two caves on either side of the river. The king can join his wife only after sunset. But one day, when he can't stand it any longer, he goes to see her before nightfall. A chasm in the stream is opened... The king disappears and the queen, desperate, rushes to it. Remarkable points on the circuit : 0 - Departure : Parking, children's games and toilets. A second carpark a little farther with restaurant with terrace. The path starts with the small bridge and the rocks on the right side 1 - La Fosse Arthour, at the limit of the Manche and Orne rivers, has kept its wild beauty. This 70 m. deep gorge is dug into a rocky bar and offers many climbing routes. At the bottom, flows the Sonce. 2 - The Moulin Foulon takes its name from the crushing and beating of woollen sheets. Foulon mills were found next to an abundant spring and near sheep farms which provided the wool. 3- At the place called "Le Chêne parfait", you can admire a beautiful oak tree, a true natural monument. 4- The path joins the famous GR22 which links Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel in 250 km. This is the portion of the GR of the Pays des Balcons in the South of the English Channel. 5 - Lake and its developed peninsula. Remarkable points in the vicinity : The Church of Saint-Georges-de-Rouelley is very old. Inside, there are many statues of polychrome saints. The bell tower was rebuilt after the Second World War Forest, an extension of the "lande pourrie" forest, a very old forest, situated at the gates of Mortain. Normandy-Maine Regional Natural Park which stretches from Lower Normandy to the Pays de Loire, covering 235,000 hectares. It covers 149 communes and 4 departments. The legend "La levrette obstinée", which appears in the Normandy collections of legends, takes place there Commemorative stele of Saint-Georges-de-Rouelley, is located 2 km from the centre, towards Barenton. It was erected in honour of 3 American soldiers killed during a reconnaissance mission in August 1944.

A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). A warm welcome awaits explorers in caravans, motorhomes and tents, whether travelling with a motorised vehicle or on their own. Our pitches are spacious and bordered by hedges. The farm is open every Friday during the summer season and offers guided tours of the farm and cheese dairy as well as an open trail visitors can wander down to see small animals and sample our produce along the way.

Thanks to its great architectural and artistic interests, Saint Julien Church was listed in 1993. Erected in 1924 in a neo-byzantine style, in reinforced concrete, its shape is highly original and the church has barely been changed since its construction. Free visit all year long. Guided tours of the church and the bell tower every Tuesday and Thursday at 5 pm in French (on Wednesdays at 5 pm in English) from 15/06 to 15/09 : around 200 steps, from 10 years old and above, depending on weather forecasts. The Charles Léandre museum is situates in the wedding romm of the town hall. It is a room full of strange objects given for free by privat individuals. The room was named after Charles Léandre to honor his generosity after he offered 11 paintings to the town. The rest of the collection is made of faience, porcelaine and of furniture from the 18th century.

Medieval town in Domfront. The Medieval town, one of the only ones of its kind in the Orne, was built in the shadow of the Château de Domfront according to a typical urban development plan from the Middle Ages with narrow cobbled streets, covered passageways and inner courtyards. The 13th-century town walls encircle the historic centre with its half-timbered houses. At the end of the Middle Ages, private manors were built in the town, with a combination of half-timber, Armorican sandstone and red granite. The Tourist Office organises guided tours during the peak season, and throughout the year with a booking.

Creative, pop-up gardens. The town of Domfront welcomes two artistic landscapers to transform two plots of land behind the Town Hall and along the Sentier des Cent Marches (trail with a hundred steps).

The Castle of Domfront was built on an outcrop of Armorican sandstone and is a remarkable defensive site. The present vestiges date back to Henry Beauclerc in the 12th century (keep and chapel). The ramparts incorporate a uniquely preserved inner corridor pierced with arrow-slits. Free visit all year long. Guided tours of the castle and the medieval city by Domfront Tourist Office every Tuesday and Thursday in French at 2.30pm from 15/06 to 15/09 ( + on Wednesday at 2.30 pm in English) on booking at the Tourist Office, minimum 4 people.
