This short but physical circuit offers many views of the hillsides of the Pays de Serres, the Garonne valley and the undulating hillsides of Gascony on the horizon. The chapel of Aureillac deserves attention, even if it can only be seen from the outside.

This long, rugged route will delight mountain bikers and experienced hikers who will be able to discover a portion of the Canal de Garonne greenway, a link between Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrénées.

On the way out, the route uses roads and panoramic paths overlooking the Garonne valley. The return journey takes place on the old Roman road at the foot of the hillside, out of the water of the Garonne River.

360° of panoramas, from the nearest to the farthest, the Garonne valley, the surrounding villages of Clermont-Soubiran or Saint-Pierre-de-Clairac, the bastide of Puymirol or, on a clear day, the peaks of the Pyrenees...

This tour will make you discover the bastide of Puymirol. Founded in 1246 by Raymond VII, Count of Toulouse, it has built its ramparts on the surrounding limestone cliffs. The regular urban organization is organized along a linear axis that crosses the central square in the middle and pierces the ramparts to the east and west. As early as 1247, a castle and a church were built there. Today, the bastide has remained within its walls and if the ramparts have lost their height, they allow you to admire a 360° panorama. The round tour, about 2 km long at the foot of the ramparts, will delight walkers.

This very sportive circuit will allow you to discover a rich natural heritage where the variety of landscapes and and superb viewpoints follow one another all along the route.

If this circuit takes place initially in the valley of Séoune, the second part runs on the long plateau overhanging the valley of the Garonne and the hillsides of Gascony in the south. To the north, the first escarpments of the Pays de Serres appear.

A very steep start, but the reward is at the top, with a vast panorama of the Garonne valley, the hills of Gascony, and even further away, depending on the weather, the Pyrenees. To the north are the hills of the Pays de Serres, from Bon-Encontre to Puymirol. The return journey is quieter, on the greenway of the Garonne canal.

Located in the middle of nature, in a hilly and wooded landscape, the village of Tayrac is a haven of peace. The village is mainly known for being the place where the "Venus of Tayrac" was discovered. A headless statue was indeed discovered and identified as a Venus and then, 40 years later, exceptionally, her head was found. The whole is now kept in the Fine Arts Museum of Agen. Tayrac has a parish church listed as a Historic Monument that you can admire and this walk will also allow you to discover the chapel of Cambot as well as beautiful stone houses, a menhir and many pigeon lofts which mark out this itinerary traced in the hills of the country of Serres, between the valleys of Gandaille and Séoune.

This small circuit, starting from a typical bastide village built in the 13th and 14th centuries, offers no difficulty, but requires great vigilance when crossing the departmental roads. The vineyards of the Brulhois and the plum orchards of Ente share the cultivated area.

The Château Labastide Orliac is the only estate of the Brulhois appellation located on the right bank of the "Garonne" River. The estate's wines are made from a blend of five grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat, Abouriou). Catherine and Isabelle produce “a niche wine” there thanks to a terroir with unique clays that remains unscathed by any chemical pollution. Which explains the singularity of its terroir, its Merlots, Cabernet Francs, Abourious and its biodiversity. Visits by appointment, Monday to saturday. Between Easter and the end of September : By reservation from 7pm, the Orliac sisters can welcome you to their property to enjoy a magnificent view of the hillsides bordering the Garonne river. There you will taste tapas made with local products and wines of deliciousness and aromatic richness, often characterized by noble and chiselled tannins.

Two sisters in Aquitaine, Catherine and Isabelle Orliac open for you their estate in a terroir dedicated to the vine since the Romans. For generations officially appointed suppliers to the courts of France and Europe, they will tell you through their products "Family Secrets" the evolution of wine and beverages over the centuries. The Château invites you to visit its wine storehouses and shop where its products are on sale: wines and aperitifs.

The typical village of Puymirol dominates the hilly countryside on its rocky spur. The hiking trail offers to cross these landscapes which alternate between undergrowth, cultivated plains and dry hillsides You will observe the typical avifauna of this agricultural environment: the soulcie sparrow, the zizi sparrow, the woodlark, the turtle-dove. The slopes of Saint Urcisse to the south-east of Puymirol also offer an interesting biotope and are home to the European nightjar, which can be seen at dusk on spring nights.

Dominating the Séoune valley on a rocky spur 15km east of Agen, the bastide town of Puymirol was founded in 1246 by Raymond VII, Count of Toulouse. Continue on to the Porte Comtale: the most famous of the 4 feudal entrances owes its name to the passage of the Counts of Toulouse. It is a surprising little museum whose visit is an original dive into two completely different worlds. You will cross a small patio of greenery which invites you to a moment of calm before entering the museum, a true haven of coolness. Located in an old barn where a grain silo cut into the rock dating back to the Middle Ages was found, you will find an exhibition of old tools related to wine growing. Faithful to the local tradition, they reveal a know-how and an old-fashioned wine making. Winegrowers and coopers are honored through these restored objects from the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. But it is the part reserved for the crystalline rocks which is the most astonishing. These collections come from a passionate person. In total, not less than 545 minerals will make you travel through time and continents.
