Starting in one of the most remarkable bastides in the valley of the river Dropt, which has kept its market hall and its square with arcades, this track climbs up the ‘Pech de Parisot’ (hill of Parisot) before continuing along the river. Land'Art, a nature exhibition: the association Campagn'Art aims to promote the idea of nature in contemporary art. Deriving from the Land'Art movement, it gives artists the opportunity to express their vision of the landscape, in whatever art form ; nature is becoming their workshop. The sculpture, resulting from this process, is not an autonomous object but is part of nature around the sculpture.

Also called the ‘Bastide du Cheval’ (the bastide of the horses), the old village Villeréal, famous for its heritage dating from the Middle Ages, has a national stud farm and a training school for horse trades.

In a landscape of mixed farming combining fattened duck breeding from the South-West, plum and hazelnut orchards, cereal fields and meadows where horses and Blondes d'Aquitaine graze, you will drive from Villeréal to the villages. Between gourmet stops in the farms or curious stops at the bird observatory of the Brayssou lake, you will discover Romanesque churches, castles, pigeon lofts but also an unusual heritage: stacked houses and brassieres houses.

From the church Sainte Madeleine, this walk climbs into the hamlet of Montaut-le-Jeune. The church of Bournel, which dates from the 12th and 14th century, is nestled at the foot of a wooded hill. It is surmounted by an original 15th century bell tower which consists of an assembly of wooden beams on the outside of the square tower, in which the dome is situated. A chapel is dedicated to Saint-Roch and Sainte-Madeleine, patrons of pilgrims. At the top of the portal, a figure wears a large hat with shells. In addition to this place of contemplation, you will have many beautiful views and you can enjoy the traditional rural heritage, like farms and dovecotes.

The ruins of the Pincanelle Mill are still visible from the road. Less than a century ago, four grain mills were still operating on the Bournègue stream. The Périgourdine type of architecture can be seen throughout the walk with particular flat tile roofs that can be seen on the farms, barns and stables... In the hamlet of "Caillauds", an old stacked house can be seen from the crossroads, arriving from "Fonvive". It can be found in the neighbouring commune of Ste-Sabine-de-Born. This atypical architecture is present in the south of the Périgord and the north of the Agenais.

This short hike, starting from one of the three hamlets of Saint-Eutrope-de-Born, links St Eutrope to the woods of Demoiselle and St-Paul, traversed by the GR 636, called "Traversée du Périgord".

The building dates back to the early 19th century and has been completely renovated with all modern conveniences: 6 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and toilets, central heating. The Saint Michel gîte can accommodate 10 people + two children. It is a two-storey building of 360m² that has retained its original character (parquet floors, apparent stonework, wood panelling, etc.). The entrance is via a small garden of 100m² with an awning. The large living room and spacious, well-equipped kitchen will ensure that you spend some pleasant and relaxing holidays.

Just 1 km north of Villeréal, discover the Saint-Pierre church in Rives This former chapel of a Benedictine priory depended on the Abbey of Aurillac. Used as a fortress, this priory was demolished along with the church during the first Wars of Religion. The chapel of the priory became a parish church. Only the large apse and the apsidiole on the right, dating from the 12th century, remain. The church has three naves and ends with a bell tower-wall with triangular gable. Only two large capitals remain from the old nave: one decorated with interlacing has been set in above the church door and the other, placed in the church, shows two monks in robes and cloaks in two corded arcades. On the outside, some fragments of sculptures from a building dating back perhaps to the early Middle Ages were used in this construction.

5 km from Villeréal, a 13th-century fortified town famous for its multi-storey market hall and fortified church, stop off in the small village of Mazières, which joined the commune of Naresse in the early 19th century. This village in the Dropt valley has undertaken the restoration of the church of Saint-Barthélémy, which was closed for a long time due to water seeping through the roof. Since 2008, you've been able to rediscover this 15th-century edifice built on much older foundations. Surrounded by orchards, the church welcomes you with its bell tower and two bells. As you enter, you are sure to marvel at the deep blue 19th-century starry sky that adorns the nave, choir and chapel. It's an unusual decoration in Lot-et-Garonne, remarkable for its homogeneity and extent. The commune has also restored the stained glass windows.

The left tower contains a spiral staircase lit by loopholes and the right one had, at the top, a small prison. The Stations of the Cross are painted in terracotta. The statue of the Virgin, located above the entrance porch, was carved out of a tree trunk.
