A beautiful loop in the heart of the Trièves, taking in small villages with magnificent views: Le Percy, Monestier-du-Percy and Prébois! The main difficulty is the short climb between Sandon and Le Percy.

A magnificent itinerary that allows you to appreciate the rich landscapes of the Trièves, from the foothills of the Vercors massif to those of the Dévoluy massif! The program includes passes, picturesque villages, small undulating roads, panoramic views...

This loop offers many panoramic views of the Trièves and its cultivated land, which in spring is a colorful patchwork! Take the time to look up from the handlebars on this very pleasant route, punctuated by splendid viewpoints!

Set off on this mountain loop on the balcony of Rattier and Obiou. A short path clinging to the cliffs takes you up to the Rochassac mountain pasture. Take a picnic break at the pleasant Rochassac hut and its fountain. Let yourself be tempted by a magnificent hike to the Rochassac mountain pastures. Enjoy the panoramic view over the Trièves. This characteristic walk will allow you to discover different facets of the mountains, sometimes cool in the forest, sometimes warm on the mountain pastures. Several watercourses allow you to enjoy the landscape even more. We mainly recommend this hike in late spring, when the snow is melting and the weather is not too hot.

A loop starting from Le Percy to discover the hermitage of Esparron, built in the 13th century which played also a role in the resistance during the 2nd World War. From Percy, head towards Esparron via Chabulière, Bayard and Sous l'Ermitage. From Esparron, follow signs to Monestier-du-Percy, via Les Champs, Bois de Xavier In La Selle, then Les Combes, follow signs to Monestier-du-Percy, then Le Percy.

This loop begins at the hamlet of Avers, where you can see the vines planted on the south-facing slopes, before climbing to the village of Prébois, where you can enjoy a 360° panorama of the surrounding mountains!

Family loop to discover the surroundings of the lake and an almost Mediterranean flora. Departure from Savel-Plage, car park at the beach towards Château de Savel via the path on the left. From the Château, return to the start by the other path.

This walk will protect you from the Bise (local wind coming from the North) and will allow you to discover a sunny hillside where the vine was queen. Take the opportunity to observe the bungee jumpers of the Pont de Ponsonnas and perhaps even throw yourself...

A sporty loop that links the Col de Menée and Col de Grimone climbs. The Col de Menée is signposted with kilometer markers. It's a great way to enjoy this Mediterranean climate!

In the heart of the historic district of Mens, the Musée du Trièves recounts the rich history of the region and its inhabitants. From prehistory to the present day, permanent and temporary exhibitions present the sites of this remarkable rural heritage. Located in the heart of the historic center of Mens, this museum traces the history of the people who have shaped the Trièves landscape. A genuine local museum, it gives pride of place to landscapes, early human occupation, rural heritage and village life, as well as to the artists who have spent time here (Jean Giono, Edith Berger, Emile Gilioli). Temporary exhibitions complete the discovery. The Musée du Trièves, the former garrison of Lesdiguières soldiers during the Wars of Religion, located on the Place de la Halle (Monument Historique), traces the history of the places and men who have shaped the region... The dam lake of Monteynard is a paradise for windsurf and kitesurf practice. The Monteynard lake if the most extended lake of Matheysine, linking with Trièves territory. There are pebble and grassy beaches, kids games and picnic area equipped with barbecues. A nautical base offers various activities (sailboat, sailboard, catamaran, kayak and paddle rental). Warning : It's a dam lake with high navigation : swimming is forbidden.

The Espace Giono is a place of remembrance for this writer, and an exhibition space for the works of Lalley painter Edith Berger. A path invites you to discover the artistic universes of Edith Berger and Jean Giono through the landscapes of the Trièves. The Espace Giono is located in the very place where Giono lived during his various vacations in Lalley. It is a place of memory, where literature and writing play an important role, evoking the Trièves of the land, its farmers and its landscapes, described by Giono in his work. Works by local painter Edith Berger are also on display. The Edith Berger-Jean Giono trail invites you to discover the artistic worlds of painter Edith Berger and writer Jean Giono in and around Lalley, through the landscapes of the Trièves. 8 panels, each presenting a work by Edith Berger, accompanied by texts by Jean Giono, are installed along the 4.5km trail. Access to the trail is free, and maps are available at the trailhead. Echoing this is Lalley painter Edith Berger. Her oils and pastels take up the same themes dear to Giono's heart; her confident brushstrokes and palette of colors depict everyday life and the human and architectural heritage of Lalley and the surrounding area. In addition to these permanent exhibitions, there is a space for temporary exhibitions, featuring paintings from here and elsewhere, figurative or contemporary, photos, sculptures and more, by artists from the Trièves.

Located in the oldest house of La Mure, the museum explains the history of Matheysine and its inhabitants, through exhibition of objects, maquettes and pictures. In the heart of the old town there is the Maison Caral, home to the Musée Matheysin since 1994. La Mure’s museum houses collections relating to the Matheysine plateau, and the nearby Beaumont and Valbonnais areas. Archeology (prehistory, Roman Gaul and medieval periods) and the Wars of Religion (the Siege of La Mure in 1580) give way to rooms devoted to anthracite mining, peasant life, glove-makers and itinerant peddlers. These used to be the trademark activities of this mid-Alpine region. The last few rooms feature sculptors and painters of the region in the 19th and 20th centuries. Since 2012 part of the museum has displayed the work of abstract painter Claude Garanjoud (1926-2005). Exhibits also include the exhibition dedicated to Olivier Messiaen, a summer visitor to the Matheysine for more than 50 years. And each season the museum offers a new temporary exhibition.

Perhaps you will have the chance to observe the griffon vulture. Reintroduced in the Vercors in 1999, this scavenger can weigh more than 10 kilos and have a wingspan up to 2m80. The vultures search where the herds are, in search of food.

The name «Mont Aiguille» appears quite late on geographical maps, not before the 17th century. However, the mountain is not pointed like a needle, as suggested by its name. It is possible that the local dialect term «aguïo» for a pointed rock might have been confused with the Occitan term «eyguèyo» equivalent to «aiguière» in French, meaning a water vessel. Thus, Mont Aiguille wouldmost likely come from the Occitan name for this mountain (Peiro Eyguèyo), which refers to a «Mountain of Springs», because of the numerous springs at the foot of its northern face (Francès, 1997).

Wastewater can be emptied in the ground-level inspection chamber connected to the sewage system. For hygiene reasons, users are required to comply with these rules and help keep the area clean. - Household waste: Household garbage must be disposed of in molok-type containers located 30 meters from the entrance to the area. - Toilets: Public toilets are also available nearby.
