Owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral and managed by the Departmental Council of the Gironde, the Domaine de Graveyron is a protected sensitive natural area located in the continuity of the coastal path that borders the Bay of Arcachon. A fish reservoir in the 19th century, it is now home to a large number of bird species that mingle with a green flora. Departures are mainly from the port of Audenge for a loop of about 5 km. A rich environment on the Leyre delta, the Domaine de Certes lies on one of the most important migration routes for avifauna, and is an internationally important migration site for many bird species, including the Eurasian spoonbill. Formerly a salt marsh, this vast area reclaimed from the sea has been converted into a fish farming site, and is now dedicated to the protection of natural environments. This 12.3 km circuit starts at the Château de Certes parking lot and leads to the Lanton bathing basin. Guided naturalist tours are offered by the Conseil Départemental de la Gironde.

The church of Saint Paul d'Audenge, in neo-gothic style, was built at Aux Places between 1878 and 1880 by the contractor Pierre Lafon de Salles under the direction of the architect Jules Mondet from Bordeaux. The church, facing southwest, was built on a rectangular plan of 32 m x 15 m with its bell tower reaching 35 meters. It houses the statue of Saint Yves, the patron saint of the town of Audenge; Yves is considered a healing saint. Every May 19th, many pilgrims come to ask for his favors; Saint Yves is also the patron saint of sailors and fishermen.

The assistance provided by the bungee cords amplifies the jumps: by pushing hard, you can reach heights of up to 9 m! The user enters the trampoline. We fit him/her with the harness and adjust the number of bungee cords to be tensioned by an electric motor (230 V). At the end of the session, we reserve the "rocket" for the most daring: a big jump made possible by the addition of bungee cords. The horizon mirror is a material image. It's an invitation for our eyes to bounce up to the sky. The ancients traced a frame in the air and read the future in the flight of birds within this imaginary temple. Michel Herreria?s invention brings this figure down from the clouds. The material image of the mirror and the formal image slide one over the other, one into the other the other. Here we are, trying to grasp this uncertain geometry and all its enchantments. It's a machine for daydreams and illusions, literally perforating the restful image of the place and creating uncertainty in the perception of this beautiful arrangement. A disturbance that revives what we no longer know how to see, and makes tangible what we don't see.

The castle of Certes, built in the XVIIIth century, is one of the rare castles of the Basin of Arcachon rebuilt around 1850. It was the castral seat of the old seigniory. It is located on the domain of Certes and Graveyron, a vast 536-hectare dyked domain belonging to the Conservatoire du littoral and managed by the Department of Gironde, within the framework of its policy in favor of Sensitive Natural Spaces. Listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historical Monuments. It is currently closed to the public for restoration. Its surroundings are accessible to the walkers of the Domain.

The “Domaine de Certes” in Audenge is the property of the Conservatoire du Littoral, and is a migratory site of major international importance for many species of birds, including the white spoonbill. This ancient salt marsh is now devoted to protection of natural milieus.
