Perched on the heights of Montsaunès, this trail combines spiritual heritage with panoramic views not to be missed. At the top of Mont de Poueigh stands the statue of the Virgin of Montsaunès, erected in 1938 in honour of Notre-Dame de la Paix. The site offers a remarkable panoramic view of the Garonne and Salat valleys and the Saint-Gaudens region, making it a must-see for hikers.

Loop starting from the Chemin de Carraou. Starting from the stone bridge over the River Lens, this loop will take you through the heritage and countryside of the village of Cassagne and the surrounding area, as far as the village of Belbèze-en-Comminges.

On this stage, you will discover Bonnefont abbey in its quiet valley and enjoy along the way spectacular views of the Pyrenees.

See the green Salat valley, via Salies-du-Salat A route designed specifically for cyclists. Part of the VELOSUD (V81), this level route takes you from Roquefort-sur-Garonne (link with the TransGarona - V83) to Castagnède, via the spa town of Salies-du-Salat and Mane on a former railway line, a stretch of 15 km. At Castagnède, you'll find a link with the Ariège greenway, which will take you to Foix (via Saint-Lizier and Saint-Girons in the Couserans).

In the Col de Larrieu forest, after pedalling up a forest road, a superb Flow Trail (3 km) begins, with banked bends, tables, bumps, roadgaps... and a natural gully! This stage offers an interesting mix of characterful villages, well-spaced out feed zones and beautiful rolling sections with views of the Pyrenees. The Garonne is the main theme, followed by a diversion through the Lèze valley before rejoining the Ariège valley. From Martres-Tolosane, a Mecca for ancient mosaics, the journey takes root in a town that still bears vivid traces of the Gallo-Roman era. The Martres archaeological museum, set against the remains of a Roman villa, houses some unique artefacts that serve as a reminder of the importance of this crossroads on the Aquitaine route. Strolling through the bastide and discovering the workshops of today's ceramists extends this link between tradition and modernity. Following the Garonne, the route winds its way through generous countryside, dotted with small rural churches, mills and bridges that bear witness to the peasant and merchant life of yesteryear. The river, a vital artery, fed the local economy, encouraging trade in timber, wine and cereals. As you head towards the Lèze valley, you pass through a mosaic of authentic villages whose history has been marked by the passage of pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Carbonne still has a central square lined with arcades, as well as traces of its rich trading past. As you approach Auterive, the valley widens, giving way to the Ariège, a tumultuous tributary of the Garonne. The town, whose name literally means "by the river", has had an eventful history. Fortified since the Middle Ages, it was a strategic post at the confluence of two valleys. You can still see its ramparts, medieval houses and Saint-Paul church, whose Romanesque foundations bear witness to the religious importance of the area. So, this stopover is not just an immersion in the nature of the valleys, but also a plunge into the history of Comminges and Volvestre, where each village tells in its own way the story of the evolution of civilisations, from Rome to the medieval bastides to the lively market towns of today. The route takes in roads open to traffic. You'll come across crossings and junctions, as well as stretches that are more or less busy. For everyone's safety, it's essential to obey the Highway Code and keep an eye out for other road users.

Turn right onto the D49 and pass the village of Plagne 8. At the Ariège border, cross the bridge and continue straight ahead on the D435 to the Cérizols cemetery. 9. At the cemetery, turn left onto the D135 towards Fabas. 10. At Tané, turn left at the hairpin bend and join the D3 towards Le Plan. 11. At the border with the Ariège, turn right onto the D7G as far as the village of Le Plan. 12. Go through the village and at the exit, cross the bridge to the left and turn left 70 m after the bridge. 13. At the end of the Chemin du Comte, turn right onto the D7 as far as the village of Couladère. 14. At the roundabout, take the second exit on the left and then, 200 m further on, turn left again onto the D49. 15. At the end of the road, turn right onto the D49D, then follow signs for Mauran by turning left onto the D62. 16. Turn slightly left towards the centre of the village of Mauran.

A gourmet hike is organized on the Trail at P'art on Thursday, July 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hiking open to all. Jump in your walking shoes for a gourmet day in a picturesque village of the Astarac: Simorre! Accompanied by a Pass'enGers guide, you will start the day with a 4 km hike (80 m cumulative elevation gain) on the A p'Art trail. This course is punctuated by works of art in the heart of nature and offers a beautiful panorama of the Gers hills. At the end of the hike, you will discover the history of this picturesque village where wooden houses and brick architecture compete in elegance, as well as the architecture of the abbey-church redesigned by Viollet-Le-Duc. At lunchtime, a gourmet picnic awaits you, consisting only of local products: duck and black pork terrines, vegetarian tartines, melon, floc de Gascogne and craft beers, Côtes de Gascogne wine, apple juice, biscuits... Everything comes from a radius of 50 km maximum. In the afternoon, you will be able to visit independently the peasant museum, and admire its reproductions of mastodons (not included in the price). A museum dedicated to RIZLA CROIX from 1874 to 1994. Open 2026: from 16 April to September, Wednesday to Saturday, 2pm to 6pm. Visits are provided by volunteers from the association. For groups wishing to visit outside these hours, please call the town hall on 05 61 97 48 22. In 1860 L. Lacroix, an industrialist coming from a paper dynasty in the Charentes region, rented a former paper-mill that was installed on some old mills. This is how the legendary Rizla Croix cigarette rolling paper was born… The museum started in 1994. Even if Rizla’s manufacturing was terminated at this site, the museum reviews 2 centuries of labourer history and relates the entire manufacture process.

A former Cistercian abbey and granddaughter of Cîteaux, founded in 1136, the Bonnefont monastery was largely dismantled in the 19th century and its parts sold off. Open to the public from June to September: guided historical tours, medieval garden, exhibitions, concerts, lectures, workshops, etc. From its creation in 1136 until its dismantling in the 19th century, Bonnefont Abbey was one of the most important religious and economic players in southern Toulouse. In particular, it was responsible for the creation of numerous bastides (fortified towns) such as Boussens, Carbonne and Plaisance du Touch. Most of its buildings were sold after the Revolution, which explains why today the site consists solely of the Porterie, the Bâtiment des convers, the Lavabo and a few other pieces of architecture. The Syndicat Mixte de l'Abbaye de Bonnefont, made up of the Conseil Départemental de la Haute-Garonne and the Communauté de communes Cagire Garonne Salat, offers a rich programme of cultural events (concerts, workshops, lectures, etc.) throughout the summer. Guided tours of the history of the site and the medieval garden during the afternoons when the site is open (times vary according to the season, see the events programme).
