Take a break to consult the engraved boards with free and sensitive views written by volunteers from the village on the 5 biotopes crossed.

Charming walk on the paths of the garrigue to discover numerous capitelles (dry stone shelters from the 18th and 19th centuries). Discover the history of this heritage linked to the culture of vines, cereals, olive trees and pastoralism. From the parking lot of the town hall, turn right to go up the rue de l'hôtel de ville. At the end of the street, turn right onto "le chemin du pont romain" (signposted circuit des capitelles). Follow the red and white markings of the GR63 Urbain V. At the sign "Mas du code" take the path on the left (sign "circuit des capitelles"). Sporting ascent with ravines. At the signpost "Le code" go straight on for 1.8 km. You pass near the signpost "Chemin de Sares et Prelong" (continue straight on). At the signpost "Côte Malaïgue" take the path to the left and continue straight on for 700m (yellow markings). At the signpost "Mas de la Librotte" turn left to "chemin de la Cabane de Guiraud". Turn left and join the path to discover capitelles, an arboretum and a well. At the signpost "La Librotte", turn left for 800m. Reach the signpost "Aillargues", then turn left to join "le Chemin de Sares et Prelong" (GR63 Chemin Urbain V, red and white markings). Turn right to take back the starting path towards the village of Blauzac.

Charming walk in a pretty park where the Eure spring supplied water to the city of Nîmes via the Pont du Gard in Roman times. Go up to the orientation table to observe the exceptional ducal city. Variant of 2.96km possible. From the Tourist Office, turn left and follow "Boulevard Charles Gide" in the direction of the municipal swimming pool. Turn right towards "Le Parc du Duché". Continue to the sign "Vallée de L'Eure "*. Take the left path and go up to "la Montagnette". Then turn left to the orientation table (1.2 km uphill). Take the path in the opposite direction to return to Uzès. Return to Uzès by "le Moulin du Tournal" (sportive climb). Then turn right towards "André Gide" to return to Uzès. *Possibility to shorten the route to 3km by avoiding the orientation table.

After strolling through the narrow streets of the Duchy of Uzès, take time to discover the Alzon gorges and the beautiful capitelles, witnesses to a rich agricultural region. From the bottom of the Refuge parking lot, climb the steps and turn right. At "les Arènes", turn right down the street (GR 63). At the "patte d'oie" (crow's-foot), turn left down a tarmac and then dirt track. At "l'escalette", continue down the track, pass the "Moulin de Carrière" and turn right. Go past the two "Château Bérard" signposts and follow "saint-Maximin" along a path leading up to a track on the right. At "Chemin du Mazet" (GR 63 split), follow signs for "La Montagne" on the left. At the gate (on the right, a capitelle, private road), continue straight ahead on a path climbing to a track, which you take to the left for 200m. Alternative (less than 7km): go straight on, following "Chemin du château d'eau" then "Route de Saint-Siffret". At "La Montagne", turn right onto "Saint-Maximin". Cross the track. Continue for 500m, then leave the track and turn left onto a path winding through the forest (follow the signs). At "Chemin des Chaussettes", leave the track and turn left onto a stony path leading downhill (capitelle on the right). At "Combe de l'Evescat", take the path up to the plateau. At "Chemin de Saint-Quentin", turn left. Go through two gates, then cross a road and take the track opposite. At "les planes", follow the stony downhill track. At "Les planes-Le Bas", follow "Route de Saint-Siffret", "Table d'Orientation". At the plateau, take the right-hand track. After 300 m, turn left onto the Chemin des Capitelles (numerous capitelles). On returning to the track, turn right twice and follow the asphalt path straight ahead. At "Route de Saint-Siffret", follow the track to the right. At "Table d'Orientation", follow "La Montagnette" to the left (viewpoint), then take the track to the right. After 200 m, take the downhill track to the right (view of Uzès). At "La Montagnette", follow "Vallée de l'Eure" then "Le Moulin du Tournal". Follow the Aqueduct on the left (700m round trip). Follow signs for "André Gide", cross the footbridge over the Alzon and climb a stony path. At "André Gide", take the path that climbs to the right. At "Cathédrale Saint-Theodorit", follow the boulevard to the left, then rue de Gisfort, up la Traverse and rue Saint-Ferréol. At "Rue de l'Escalette", turn left into rue de l'Escalette as far as "Les Arènes".

The Concluses are long natural gorges and rocky corridors carved out over time by the Aiguillon river. Discover an exceptional panorama and ecosystem. Departure from Lussan from the parking lot at the foot of the village. Head for "Les Concluses" on the D259, following the "Le Vallen" hiking sign for 1.3 km. Then take the right-hand path for 1.6km towards the Prade sign. Turn right and follow the signs for Les Concluses for 2.2km. Turn left and follow the Concluses interpretation trail, which will take you to the viewpoint where you can observe the panorama. Return to Lussan by turning back. From the Concluses parking lot, follow the "l'Espesviel" sign for 1.3km. Go straight on towards "la Grande Croisière" for 300m, then join "la Clapeyrolle" via the D643 for 600m. Turn right to follow "Lac de Mercouire" for 1.4km. Turn left, then right onto the D143 for 1.4km. Take the track on the left to join the "Gammeile" sign, then turn right to take the D143 back up to the village parking lot. Do not venture into the Aiguillon riverbed during periods of high water, thunderstorms or from January 15 to June 30. Some sections are more strenuous than others, requiring you to negotiate rocks. Some slippery passages in wet weather on the lower section.

A magnificent route through the protected site of the Gorges du Gardon, in the heart of the nature reserve. From the town hall parking lot, follow the Chemin de La Baume (to the left of the bakery) for 1km to the "La Coufine" sign. Continue straight ahead. You are now in the garrigue. Wind your way down through undergrowth to reach the river's edge. In front of you is the old La Baume mill, with the little chapel nestling under the cliff in the background. Turn left up the path to reach the chapel. A path carved into the wall leads to the cave. The cave is open from 15/03 to 30/04 and from 16/08 to 14/11. Once you've crossed the cave, follow the path for 1.1 km up to the plateau above the gorge, towards the "Les Condamines" sign. Turn left and follow the GR6 for 800m to the "les Coufines" sign. Turn right to reach the village of Sanilhac. Be careful, as the Gardon is mainly fed by resurgences in summer, the water is very cold. The risk of hydrocution is very high. For this reason, swimming is prohibited at La Baume (Sanilhac-Sagriès) all year round.

WORTH KNOWING: Numerous sites have been occupied on the Malbousquet crest since the Bronze Age. On one of the hills overlooking the village, the Jouffe site, excavations have revealed the location of a protohistoric oppidum, which was later reoccupied during the Roman period. In the 11th century, a priory was built here, of which all that remains are the ruins of the church, abandoned at the time of the Wars of Religion. On the hill below are the ruins of the Castellas, a castle built in the 11th century.

From here, you can observe Hermann's tortoises in their vast dry-stone enclosure. Then you'll head for the wooden hut and the pond with its waterfall, surrounded by marsh plants. You'll return under an arbour via a beautiful pathway of old earthen tiles. Along the way, you'll admire a wide variety of original roses and flowers. Enjoy your visit!

Ideal place for a walk, games for children and tree houses/ nets, it is also a place where many animations take place like the Nuit Douce (musical evening) or the Nuit des étoiles. This park dates back to 1782 when Jacques Destremx (elected mayor of the commune in 1869 and 1888) bought the three properties of the Marquis de Montmoirac, also lord of Montèze and Saint-Christol. From inheritance to marriage and life annuity, the Trouchaud couple (mayor of Saint-Christol-lez-Alès in 1932) settled down and became passionate about Rouret by creating an English garden, which over time became a natural park of Mediterranean type. In 1987, the municipality bought the 14-hectare estate, the park, but also the manor house, and developments were made around it: a stadium, a fitness trail, a botanical trail, a CAT, and a leisure center nearby. Many trees were planted there: cedars, maples, magnolia, red oak and a playground for children aged 1 to 6 years was built. This place is now very appreciated for its calm. An ideal place for a stroll, it is also a place where many events take place such as the Nuit Douce (musical evening) or the Nuit des étoiles.

Monumental statues of Priape are rare, but Aureilhac's Priape is a Gallo-Roman statue, close to the one found in Ephesus and dated to the 2nd century AD. Discovered during ploughing in 1970, it is on display in the town hall. The Priape statue was discovered in 1970 during ploughing by the father of the generous donor, Mr. Gérard Mercier. It remained inaccessible to the public for many years, when the idea of giving it a deserved place was born. The idea took shape at a meeting between the mayor and the owner, who was aware of the municipality's interest in protecting its heritage. The statue was transferred to the village hall in 2007. Careful attention was paid to its transport and temporary installation in the village hall. From then on, we began the process of registering the statue with the Monuments Historiques de France, which was completed in 2008, at the same time as we embarked on a restoration project and began thinking about its final location, scheduled for 2009. This little booklet is dedicated to helping you discover this historic monument in greater detail, and to warmly thanking the donor, Gérard Mercier, for his spirit of sharing, as well as Brigitte Chimier, PhilippeTiébot, Nicole Dortindeguey and the members of the Culture Commission for their deep commitment and the quality of their work on this project. The Aureilhac Priape is therefore an exceptional find, adding to the many archaeological remains in the commune to confirm the site's importance in Roman times.

A choice of eight educational workshops are proposed for each school vacation and during the visit of the classes. The visit ends with a workshop allowing to practice with all the writing instruments. Courses in straw marquetry, Western, Japanese, Hebrew and Arabic calligraphy are scheduled throughout the year. Regular courses in illumination and art framing are held every month. The museum permanently displays one or more temporary exhibitions in its vaulted rooms. The large room, with its rustic charm and beautiful fireplace, can accommodate 80 people, the stable room, which opens onto the swimming pool terrace, can accommodate 25 people, and finally, the VIP lounge, a small, discreet room with a fireplace, can accommodate 10 people. In addition, in the summer, there are two shaded terraces that can accommodate 120 people.

The mazet, a small stone house on the Olivettes estate, has one bedroom with a 160 x 200 cm double bed, a shower room, a separate toilet, a fully-equipped kitchenette, a living-dining room and two terraces. The east-facing bedroom opens onto a shaded terrace. The living room also opens onto a terrace for meals in the shade of a vine. The small private garden overlooks the valley that leads to Uzès via a country lane (20 min to the Esplanade).
