"Between woods and meadows, from Saint-Avit to Journiac This walk is not difficult and goes through chestnut woods and meadows on the hillsides. It takes wide paths or small country roads alternating shady and sunny parts.

Beautiful hike on the paths of a fertile plain, covered with strawberry fields, cattle and game farms. Three rivers take their source: the Louyre, the Caudeau, and the Vern. The originality of the village of Cendrieux lies in the design of a circular square, where magnificent bourgeois houses converge towards the fortified church of the 12th century, in Romanesque style. This church, classified as a historical monument, has a square and crenellated bell tower unique in the Périgord.

This walk does not present any major difficulties. Only two small hills punctuate the route, which offers a tour of various hamlets around the small village of Journiac.

Halfway between the North Pole and the Equator, this lovely walk begins in a village whose flower beds have made it even more attractive. You'll admire the Notre Dame de l'Asomption church, then further south, you'll cross the Petit Mas marsh, part of a natural zone of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest. Along the way, you'll also come across a wash-house at the end of an unusual path, a post office that bears witness to a forgotten era, and the cippe du 45e parallèle, a stone surmounted by a terrestrial globe, indicating on the ground the precise location of the parallel?

Starting from the village of Mauzac and its large water level at the dam, the route follows a canal that was dug between 1838 and 1843 to facilitate navigation to Libourne and Bordeaux. It is thus on the old towpath which was used to "lift" the boats that the valley cycle route is located. Along this route are some remarkable structures, such as the lock and the lock house of Mauzac (transformed into a museum), the "canal bridge" of Saint-Capraise de Lalinde, the lock staircase of Tuilières with a crossing basin, before arriving at the dam of Tuilières of 19,30 m high and 105 m length. This dam which produces 148GWH of annual average electricity is equipped with a fish elevator.

The city of Bergerac was an important port on the Dordogne in the days of the inland waterways. Some developments on the river upstream and downstream still testify to this period, including the dams created to facilitate navigation or for electricity production.

The Vézère by bike : This bicycle route will link four villages over 22 kilometers by the end of 2023: Les Eyzies, Le Bugue, Limeuil and Saint- Chamassy. Accessible to pedestrians and cyclists, it will unveil different portions of secured cycling itineraries as of this summer.

From the caravan park, you're off on a somewhat strenuous and technical first section. At the end of the trail, you can admire the cliffs of Les Eyzies.

Ludovic Dubos and Jean-François Roudier raise, force-feed and process ducks, which they sell fresh, dried and preserved. The church of Saint Avait de Vialard dates from the 12th century and is characteristic of Romanesque architecture. Built on the top of a hill, this building has been recently restored. During the works, the altar stone that adorned the original sanctuary was found and put in place.
