Village de Journiac

Description

Journiac is a small village nestled in a lush valley in the Périgord Noir, a short distance from Le Bugue and Les Eyzies, the world capital of prehistory.

Surrounded by hills between which a small stream meanders, used since antiquity to operate its 5 mills, you can still admire a beautiful wash house.

An ideal holiday destination for ramblers the hills curves and valleys waiting to be discovered. Two loops allow you to discover the beautiful houses of golden stone and lauze roofs that make up the landscape.

A bit of history:
The origin of the name "Juronuis" suggests that there was once a small Gallo-Roman town here; the presence of an oppidum near the Roman road "Vésone-Cahors" confirms this origin. Each century has brought changes to the village of Journiac; come and discover them all!
