Camping Le Val de la Marquise: Discover Dordogne

Circuit in a 345 hectare forest in the Vézère valley, fitted out for hiking. This interpretive trail leads from the castle to a beautiful viewpoint over the valley, and offers information on the built and natural heritage.

The forest of Campagne is a departmental domain which extends on 337 hectares accessible to all: it conceals multiple animal and vegetable species and offers many points of view.

On the heights of Campagne, this path will allow you to discover some pretty hamlets with a remarkable built heritage, where you will find many water points: fountains, springs and wash houses. Between hollow and wooded paths, an open plateau overlooking the Vézère Valley and small country roads, the Peyrat loop also offers one of the rare viewpoints on the Bugue cingle.

The South Forest Loop is one of the shortest walks in terms of distance. Ideal for a family walk.

In the heart of the Périgord Noir in the Vézère valley, the Parc du Bournat au Bugue plunges you into the daily life of a village in the Périgord at the beginning of the last century. The town hall constructed from Perigord stone, the chapel, the school, the windmill, the vegetable garden etc... Here, time stopped in 1900, so wander on foot or in a horse-drawn carriage through the streets of the village, which covers 7 hectares. While animators bring to life the airs and legends of yesteryear, the craftsmen are busy: the cutler makes knives with walnut handles, the potter shapes pitchers, vases and jars. Come and surprise Cro Magnon in real life! Become explorers and go on an expedition in search of the last surviving Cro Magnon, discovered by the famous archaeologist Professor Jean Netessur. Jungle Golf is an 18-hole miniature golf course for the whole family. In the middle of a lush vegetation, this space of more than 2000 m2 will allow you to discover miniature golf as you have never seen or done it. The park at Château de Campagne, near Le Bugue on the way to Les Eyzies and Sarlat in the Dordogne-Périgord region, has been redesigned in the style of 19th-century English-influenced garden compositions (green corridor, peninsula, serpentine and kitchen garden). Planted with century-old redwoods and cedars, it offers a bucolic stopover, in a setting of conservatory orchard, arboretum, or along the restored Chemin des Dames staircase: 139 steps and a 22-meter drop, decorated with lanterns. Ideal for summer evening concerts, it's a gateway to the forest of Campagne, where you can stroll free of charge every day of the year. The château is not open to the public, but does host temporary exhibitions. It was listed as a historic monument on April 5, 2001, along with its outbuildings, park and fences.

Situated in the commune of Campagne (canton of Bugue), this forest of 317 hectares is divided into two massifs separated by the departmental road 35. Leaning against the cliffs overlooking the Vézère river, the site offers many viewpoints over the valley and the surrounding hills. This forest has been the property of CD24 since 1975; the former owner was the Marquis de la Borie de Campagne who donated his castle to the State and bequeathed the forest to the Department. you can practice many outdoor activities such as orienteering, climbing, archery, mountain biking...
