Walk or hike in a village classified among the "Most Beautiful Villages of France". Known as the village of seven steeples, Belves has preserved in its walls many traces of the medieval period and its hospitality tradition. On the hiking trail outside the village, the hamlet of Capelou is home to one of the oldest pilgrimages in the Périgord, and the Béssède forest offers the hiker the shade of its chestnut trees.

A small detour is necessary to discover "the city with seven bell towers". At the top of a hill overlooking the green valley of the Nauze, its belvedere offers a vast panorama of the horizons of the Périgord Noir. Thanks to its strategic position, Belvès has had an eventful history. Several times besieged during the Hundred Years War and the Wars of Religion, the village abounds with many miraculously preserved remains. 35 km south-west of Sarlat, Belvès is one of the most beautiful villages in France and the Black Perigord.
