This 37.5 km itinerary on the Millevaches plateau takes in 2 towns that are essential to the history of tapestry in the Creuse: Aubusson and Felletin, both of which have a rich heritage. It first follows the GR ®4/GR®46 to take you into the Marche et Combrailles region, and returns to Felletin via the GR®89 chemin de Montaigne through the Creuse bocage. It can easily be done in 2 directions, and the stopover at Saint Pardoux d?Arnet makes it possible to roam over 2 days. This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary, and take a stroll in ecomobility!

This walk through the woods - don't miss the Cabane-aux-fées dolmen along the way - takes you to the bottom of the valley where the Tranloup stream flows. After 13 years of excavation and five years of development work, the commune of Moutier-Rozeille, population 430, near Aubusson, has just opened a 1.5 km archaeological trail to the public. Next to the Moutier-Rozeille church, a large signpost introduces visitors to the 1.5-kilometre trail, which takes them back in time. Visitors have two options: take a path that climbs to the heights of the village of Saint-Hilaire, or join it by road. There, amidst the houses of the village of Saint-Hilaire stand ruins, as if emerging from history. A small museum is also open to the public near the Moutier-Rozeille town hall.

In addition to lending, you can of course consult all these documents free of charge on site, as well as the regional daily press and various national periodicals. The ruins of the château are commonly called 'the chapter'. The site of the chapter has a magnificent view over the town of Aubusson. The château was built between the 10th and 13th centuries by the Aubusson Viscounts and was one of the most remarkable fortresses of the Middle Ages. It was protected by an oval enclosure, five round towers and a drawbridge that crossed a large ditch. On Richelieu's orders, to prevent the Huguenots having any means of resistance, it was destroyed in 1632. Its stones were used to build some of the houses in Aubusson as well as the Terrade bridge. Nothing remains except a wall of the rectangular keep, the attached wall and the base of the 13th century, square tower. Free entry to the Château ruins

A natural curiosity is this little trail which wraps you in vegetation as if to protect you from view, and intoxicates you with the unique scent of boxwood.

Devant l'église on découvre une étonnante croix-calvaire biface (1431), chef d'oeuvre naïf de sculpture sur granit qui évoque immanquablement des monuments bretons de même nature. Elle devait se trouver devant l'ancien cimetière qui a été déplacé. Elle est composée d'un fût monolithe entouré d'une guirlande de feuillage sculptée. D'un côté elle représente le Christ et de l'autre certainement la Vierge. Cette croix, haute d'environ 6 mètres, a été taillée dans la masse. Elle a été victime d'un accident pendant la Révolution, aussi elle a dû être réparée comme le montre l'anneau de fer sur le fût.
