A very nice stage on the ocean shore. A departure the water's edge to Cabo Bioznar, rocked by the waves by the waves breaking on the cliffs, a progressive rise towards the balcony of Jaizkibel by turning temporarily the back to the ocean. You will then walk along a beautiful shoulder with your right foot towards the ocean and your left foot towards the Basque mountains of the interior before the extraordinary dive on the harbour of Pasaia.

If the Hendaye train station is synonymous with the end of the world for some travelers, it will be for you the starting point of an unforgettable bike ride. A reverie on two wheels along the water, started in the company of the Bidasoa River. Before joining the Atlantic Ocean, this river, which has been a border river since 1659, takes its ease in the bay of Chingoudy, a navigation haven shared by Hondarribia the Spanish and Hendaye the French. You can ride with your family in complete peace of mind on the daring balcony over the bay, allowing you to be constantly free of car traffic.

The island of the Pheasants is the link. This relaxing and well laid out route also runs alongside the Joncaux industrial estate. From the shore you can see the Plaiaundi ecological park, Irun and the Pyrenees.

You will go from the vastness of the ocean to the intimacy of the marshlands of the Bidasoa River, not without having appreciated the calm of the Bay of Chingoudy. A beautiful way to pass from France to Spain, via the Saint-Jacques bridge, also used, as its name suggests, by pilgrims on their way to Compostela.

The last few laps along the ocean, along the bright beach of Hendaye. The point of Sokoburu marks the return to the land, but the ride remains aquatic as you will ride along the bay of Chingoudy, a refuge for pleasure boats, and then the French bank of the Bidasoa river. The urbanisation of the city of Irun announces the proximity of Spain; in fact, the international bridge of Behobie looms on the horizon of the pleasant Joncaux cycle path.

Leaving the shores of the ocean and after skirting the bay of Txingudy, this itinerary takes you through the first humanized reliefs of the Basque mountains. Leaving the intimacy of the forests, moors and pastures alternate, offering sumptuous views of the ocean which is still close by. After the Ibardin pass and its famous ventas, you will walk through the wild and fresh atmosphere of the Intzola ravine.
