This walk takes you back in time along the ancient Roman road "Via Aggripa", which linked Toul and Metz. The village streets are lined with the 13th-century church of Saint-Maurice, a listed building. The town hall is housed in a Renaissance-style house dating from the 16th century, which is also listed.

This tourist circuit showcases water through the ages on a tour of Haut-Lay and its history. Lay-Saint-Christophe is nicknamed the village of a thousand fountains. It is also the birthplace of Saint Arnou and his illustrious descendants. Explore the ancient narrow streets to discover a host of fountains and admire the Renaissance (the Samaritaine, the presbytery, the priory whose most famous monk was Dom Calmet, etc.) and Art Nouveau buildings (the house of Antonin Daum). First of all, to park, there is quite a lot of space, and if the weather is nice, there are a few small streets perpendicular to the Grande Rue in Lucey that allow you to put the car in the shade. The circuit starts with a few paths going up behind the village towards the forest on 200-300 meters. Once you are in the forest, the principle is to zigzag up and wait for the plateau where the fort is located. The latter is covered by vegetation, and will only be very little visible. You will cross here and there some constructions annexed to the fort to brighten up the walk =) /! Watch out! The walk goes around the fort, but not inside. It is not advisable to try to venture inside, especially with small children or animals: there are many holes and not all parts inside are stable. And until the last news, it's not very legal ;-) The circuit layout will help you to find your way, but you can very well take the many small paths. You'll see them appear on the map (for example on the OSM / OCM map background, they're almost all there). Once you've done the lap, you just have to go back down to the village. Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. Ancienne base aérienne de Rosières-en-Haye : Un seul lieu, une double découverte ! A découvrir, 3 hangarettes datant de la période militaire et qui vont vous permettre une immersion dans la première activité du site ! Cette base fait partie intégrante de l’histoire du Bassin de Pont-à-Mousson depuis 1944. Elle a pris toute son ampleur en 1952 en devenant une base américaine de l’OTAN (TRAB). C’est une véritable ville qui va se construire au sein de cette enclave : cinéma, théâtre, magasins, ligne de chemin de fer, chapelle, station d’épuration. On a pu compter 3 000 à 4 000 personnes sur la base. En 1967, lorsque que la France sort de l’OTAN, le Général de Gaulle demande aux américains de quitter les lieux. Désormais base militaire française, la TRAB devient la BA 136, 11ème escadre de chasse. Le Jaguar en devient l’avion emblématique. Toutes les opérations extérieures menées par l’armée de l’air française partaient de cette base, comme par exemple lors de la Guerre du Golfe. A la fin de la période militaire, en 1998, une réflexion est menée quant au devenir de cette base. C’est la proposition d’EDF Energies Nouvelles qui est retenue avec la construction d’une centrale photovoltaïque. Ce projet est ambitieux puisque la centrale, à sa mise en service était la plus grande au monde et désormais (suite au développement de cette énergie aux Etats-Unis et en Asie), la plus grande d’Europe en superficie. This viewpoint is located on the northern slope, at "Le MENIL" Sentier de Belleville. Situated on the left bank of the Moselle, Marbache covers an area of 10.63 km 2 in the heart of the Massif Forestier de l'Avant-Garde on the Haye limestone plateau, halfway between the Nancy/Pont-à-Mousson urban centers. Marbache lies at the crossroads of the Moselle Valley and the Rupt de la Bréville valley, on the route of the ancient Roman road. Originally a wine-growing and rural village, urbanization began near the church, before expanding along the main road in the 18th and 19th centuries. Recent extensions are located on sunny hillsides, away from noisy infrastructures. In 1850, the opening of the railway station ushered in a new era, which was confirmed by the opening of the Iron Mine. Once the mines were mined, the local people went to work in the steel industry. Today, Marbichon's inhabitants are turning to employment areas such as Pompey, Nancy and Metz to work in the service sector.
