Leaving from Champnétery, to the east of Limoges, the Cîmes circuit takes you through the landscapes of the Monts et Barrages region. The route alternates between open meadows and crops, undergrowth, ponds and streams. You'll even be surprised by some of the landscapes, like a "little Canada" in Limousin.

The small road that gives access to the gîte leads to another 8-person gîte 30 m away. A footpath leads to the Cheissoux chapel, which opens onto the old village square, or to Bujaleuf, 3 km away, where you'll find essential shops, a lake and a beach.

The house is totally independent and not overlooked, and is located on the small road at the end of the village. At the gable end of the house is a 150 m² enclosed and shaded lawn. Fishing and swimming can be enjoyed at the Bujaleuf lake 4 km away, with an aqualudic pool at Saint Leonard de Noblat 15 km away. Hiking trails are also available in a region that is highly conducive to this activity.

13th-century church, listed as a Monument Historique since 1926. It has undergone numerous alterations, including the addition of chapels, a 19th-century renovation campaign and the rebuilding of the bell tower in 1976. It is the only church in the region with a groin vault, which replaced oak panelling in the 19th century. Four 15th-century side chapels complete the nave. A rare feature: a wooden gallery covers the first bay of the nave. Covered in chestnut shingles, the bell tower was completely rebuilt in 1976 after a fire.

Near the Sainte-Hélène bridge, on the left bank of the lake, the site of the Saint-Martin fountain was rehabilitated in 2001-2002, when a chapel was added. The fountain was the parish's main procession site until the early 20th century. In this very humid valley, the spring works even in times of great drought. It is said to have healing properties for children and to help young girls get married. The presence of a few centimes in its stone basin bears witness to its frequent use.

The Maulde is a small river that rises in the Creuse and flows through the Haute-Vienne into the Vienne after a journey of almost 70 km. It feeds the largest man-made reservoir in the Limousin, Lac de Vassivière, as well as the dams at Mont-Larron, Martineix, Fleix, Bujaleuf and Langleret, then Villejoubert and l'Artige. An angler's playground, the Maulde also offers superb bathing at Bujaleuf (Lac de Saint Hélène) and Saint Julien le Petit (plan d'eau du Martineix).
