A walk through alpine pastures and forests offering magnificent viewpoints. Start - Parking du petit reposoir 1/ Continue on foot along the tarmac road then, shortly after the barrier that closes off the route to vehicles, take a path that descends to the right to reach the hamlet of "Mont Devant". 2/ Head for the hamlet of "Mont-Derrière" along the GRP (red and yellow markings), then in the middle of the hamlet, follow the signs for "col de la frasse - promenade du Char". 3/ Further up the mountain pasture, the path forks to the right before the chalets. From here, it takes around half an hour to reach the crêt du Char. Take care when crossing the rocky ridge. 4/ From the Crêt du Char mountain pastures, there is a challenging return route to the cross on the Four Magnin rock (an aerial route over a rocky ridge, not recommended for those prone to vertigo). 5/ Back at the Crêt du Char mountain pasture, head for the Col de Bornette. [From this point, you can return to the car park by following "le reposoir" on the GRP (red and yellow markings). Approximately 3km and 160m less ascent]. 6/ Continue along the track to "Golet". 7/ From Le Golet, follow the tarmac road to "le Reposoir" and then the car park.

Above the village of Entrevernes, in the dale named after it, this family hike is particularly suitable for children and even has a play area and a picnic area.

From the leisure center, this comfortable walk along the Chéran river takes you to three bodies of water in a green setting. This friendly space on the banks of the Chéran, in the heart of a leisure park, will delight families. This outing can also be used for swimming; a variety of tourist services are on offer, including restaurants, tobogganing and fishing. Descent via the ascent route ("Golet de Doucy" area closed for roadworks) High above, mount Trélod invites you to join the summits ! At the heart of the National Hunting and Wildlife Reserve, this route leads to one of the massif's emblematic summits, and promises to reveal some remarkable flora and fauna. And just wait for the panoramic views at the top ! Today's hike will be a sporting one! It begins by a rather steep climb, fortunately in the shade of the forest. After passing through the rocky bar under the Dent des Portes, the atmosphere changes completely : you will enter a world of alpine pastures, chamois and marmots. If you happen upon one of these locals, it will be watching you from a distance, a little wary of this strange, clumsy two-legged animal. You can stop for a moment to observe it, holding your breath so as not to disturb it, and enjoy the scenery. The last slope is steep but the well-marked trail allows you to make good progress. Here is the summit ! As promised, breathtaking views await you. Please note : this route is located within the National Hunting and Wildlife Reserve. Specific regulations apply. Lescheraines dairy cooperative collects 7,000 litres of milk per day. Half of this milk is used to make the gruyere cheese called “Le Margériaz” and the rest is for Tome des Bauges cheese. Tome des Bauges cheese, which is very different from the Tomme de Savoie cheese, is the 39th cheese made with cows’ milk that has received the registered trademark of A.O.P. (Controlled Designation of Origin). Group tours are organised: you can see cheese being made and the cheese maturing cellars.

Lake Châtelard is located in the heart of Bauges. Surrounded on one side by the forest and on the other by Chéran, you can revitalize in this timeless, peaceful, natural setting. Lake Châtelard is populated mainly by brown trout. A special regulation has been set up for fishing : no-kill for trout only. Fishing is allowed with 1 hook (single, double or triple) without a barb. On the edge of the Chéran, these relatively stable stony banks are not simply outcrops: they reveal the glacial past of the Bauges, and have a lot to teach us. During the Ice Ages, when the bottoms of the valleys were covered in ice, deposits from the eroded mountain became blocked by the glacier, which prevented them from being carried downstream. Local glaciers or ice tongues overflowing from the Cols des Bauges caused the formation of these fluvio-glacial terraces to stack on top of each other, and we can see the traces of the heights of these glaciers. When the glaciers melted, the rivers easily carved through these deposits as they meandered through the valley. Often covered in vegetation, the structure of these terraces is clearly visible - the laminations and direction of the stone allow us to read the meaning of the paleo-currents. This beautiful Terrasse des Bauges is located at the start of the Balade du Pissieu, on the right bank of the Nant d'Aillon. Parking at the bridge over the Nant d'Aillon on the road linking Attilly to Villaret Rouge, the Châtelard lake or the car park at the Iles du Chéran leisure centre.

Pissieu waterfall forms just downstream from a source into which most of the rainwater and snow-melt drains into off the Margériaz Plateau. It is created from a karst resurgence of water from the so-called "Vauclusian source"; Beneath the entrance to the source, a submerged underground network plummets to a depth of 50 metres before making its way back up towards the Margériaz Plateau. Up to now, 79km of underground networks have been identified under the Margériaz Plateau, including the 'Tanne du Cochon' network, which has an elevation difference of 825 metres between its starting point on the plateau and its resurgence at Le Pissieu. You can get to the waterfall either via the car park by the 'Pont sur le Nant d'Aillon' (bridge over the Nant d'Aillon river) on the road between the villages of Attilly and Le Villaret Rouge, via the swimming lake in Le Châtelard or via Les Iles du Chéran Outdoor Activities Centre car park. This syncline is one of the central points in the valley, whether it is seen from below from Ecole or the Vallée de Sainte Reine in the south, or from the banks of the Lac d'Annecy in the north. Spectacular hikes are possible on the steep slopes. Le Trélod-Charbon is one of the most emblematic perched synclines in the Massif des Bauges, caused by a fold of a thick limestone layer during the formation of the Alps, approximately 20 million years ago. Raised upwards and flanked by fault lines, is represents a well-preserved example of the sedimentary rock folds in the region. Unusually, its interior contains a series of preserved nummulites (marine sediments from the Eocene period, including an outstanding limestone layer), well-marked by a little rocky ledge. Access via Bellecombe-en-Bauges and the Reposoir et les Ecuries-devant carpark, then the pass under la Dent des Portes, to reach Trélod. Set off from Doussard (Saury) or Bellecombe-en-Bauges via the Col de Bornette to reach the Charbon via the chalet de la Combe.

Le Semnoz mountain, a vast protected area, 16 km long and stretching from an altitude of 450 m to one of 1,699 m. Close to Lake Annecy, it offers a vast terrain for play and discovery in all 4 seasons (skiing, snowshoeing, walks, mountain biking...). Le Semnoz, to the north of the Bauges mountains and bordering the western bank of Lake Annecy, is a concentration of activities. In winter, the ski resort offers an ideal terrain for practicing cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing and snowkiting. In summer, make way for the alpine pastures with their animals, farms and cheese production. It is also the chance to go for a wander along the many walking paths and mountain bike circuits. The resort offers an alpine slide and various downhill activities (devalkart, runix...). You can also discover the botanical path and rock climbing sites. All year round, Le Semnoz - with the Crêt de Chatillon as its highest point - offers a viewpoint indicator and 360-degree view. A suspended metal bridge, built in 1887 by the engineer Baudin. 64 m long, situated 96 m above the Chéran, it links Cusy to Gruffy, and is listed as a heritage site. A plunging view over the chaos of the Chéran. Hike departure point.

The Bout du Lac nature reserve is a rare, unspoilt area on the shores of Lake Annecy, inviting you to discover a protected natural area. The site is accessible to the mobility-impaired and hearing-impaired. The Bout du Lac nature reserve is a wetland area crossed by two rivers, the Eau Morte and the Ire, which feed Lake Annecy. This marshy area to the south of the lake is an exceptional habitat. Wet forests, reedbeds, wet meadows and alkaline peat bogs make up this ecosystem, offering a diversity that is conducive to the establishment of a large number of common, rare or sensitive animal and plant species. The site's major interest lies in the presence of the underwater herbarium, which supports the development of a fauna of invertebrates and fish, and also in the reed bed, which is a refuge for the common toad, a protected area for the European beaver and for the reptiles of Haute-Savoie. Breeding birds such as the reed bunting, spotted locustella and three warblers can be found in the higher parts of the reedbed. The bittern sometimes completes this list. Wintering birds (tufted duck, common pochard and ruddy duck) spend the cold season here in good conditions. Next on the list are the willow and alder thickets, the pedunculate oak woodlands, the arable and hay meadows and the gallery forests along the watercourses. The remarkable diversity of these biotopes supports a remarkable flora. Protected species include gentian pneumonanthe, snake's tongue, water ragwort, sweet-smelling orchid and Swiss woodruff.

The Semnoz Alpine Garden is a 1,500 m high portion of alpine pasture that has not been grazed for more than 50 years to preserve the typical flora of the alpine meadows. This area allows you to discover or revise the typical botany of the Alpine meadows. Each summer, more than 100 plant species are identified, labelled and highlighted.Trails are marked and autonomous games are installed on the site, enough to delight young and old. The Alpine Garden is open every day in summer time. Permanences are also held every Wednesday by an FNE74 employee to ensure the maintenance of the Alpine Garden and welcome nature lovers! In 2019 a comparative study on the floristic diversity between the Semnoz Alpine Garden and the meadows grazed nearby was carried out. The results indicate there is a significant gap in floristic diversity and plant covering between the scarcely maintained Alpine meadow and the regularly pastured one. Indeed, there were only 24 different floristic species identified on the grazed meadow while there were 62 on the Alpine Garden. Moreover, in the Alpine Garden 12 species represent more than 50% of the plant covering, compared to only 3 species in the grazed meadow.
