A smartphone app called “Mystères à la Roche d’Oëtre’’ (download on the playstore or iOS) offers a new way of exploring the history, geology, fauna and flora of the Rock of Oëtre. It includes the stages of the hike along with information and also a game section with many fun activities (videos, 2D animations, audio testimonials, etc.).

A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). Garden in a picturesque village in Swiss Normandy, adjoining the house and guest cottage, enclosed by an old stone wall and bakehouse (part of which dates back to the 15th century). The garden was created by the current owner. Roche d’Oëtre has been cut out of rock, and is one of the finest belvederes in western France. This listed nature site is located in the heart of the oldest mountain in Europe in the heart of Swiss Normandy. From atop its 118 m, Roche d’Oëtre offers a breathtaking view of the Rouvre gorges. With a specialist local guide, explore the breathtaking landscape of the Gorges de la Rouvre, in the heart of Suisse Normande. Above the gorges, the Roche d'Oëtre towers 118 metres above the torrent below. Discover the geological and historical treasures, and the fascinating flora and fauna along a trail that runs through the various landscapes, from the most arid to the wettest. Reindeer lichen, green lizards, badgers, freshwater pearl mussels, royal fern and otters can all be spotted at this significant site in the Orne.

The garden was designed as a backdrop for this 16th century manor house in Norman Switzerland. It was planned by the owners in line with the Renaissance rules for the art of the garden: a succession of terraces, a broderie of box trees, topiaries, hedge tunnels, vintage roses, etc. After a non-guided visit to the site you can also enjoy a guided visit at 3.30 pm.

A remarkable collection of buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries with all the architectural elements preserved. The lake and surrounding land together cover 4 hectares. The lake is known as ‘Queue d’Aronde’ because its shape resembles the tail (‘queue’ in French) of a sparrow that older generations in France once called ‘aronde’. It covers a surface area of 5.52 hectares. The Corteille (small tributary of the Lembron) passes through this lake at the entrance to the town centre, on the road that leads to Sainte-Honorine-la-Chardonne, opposite Meunier Velay woods. This body of water is a ‘category 1’ lake. It is used exclusively for fishing: trout are released every Friday evening, roach, tench, carp and eel fishing. Traces of otters can be found here, a species believed to be threatened with extinction in the Orne valley. This is a sign of a preserved environment. Access from the dam at Rabodanges: with the viewing platform on the left, take the path a hundred metres or so to the right.

Our caravans welcome you with the pleasure of sharing our still wild corner of nature, its simple and unpretentious gypsy camp. Cosy, colourful and cheerful atmosphere, like the gypsies in general. Full of details, attentions and comfort in addition: a true den for lovers of "glamping" with a bohemian spirit! Our gypsy caravans are built by the owner and located on his land, but at a sufficient distance to guarantee the peace and privacy of the guests. The main caravan includes : 1 bed in alcove for 2 persons with mattress, bathroom (shower, wc), kitchenette. Small covered terrace. Electric heating. Possibility of sleeping a young child on the bench (max. 5-6 years old), please inform us in advance The second caravan, smaller, is an additional room which allows to increase the sleeping capacities and to welcome, in autonomy, either the children of the customers occupying the main caravan, or a couple of friends who come to share the stay. It has a double bed, a washbasin and some storage space. The occupants of this caravan will have to use the toilets and the shower of the main caravan Wood fire possible outside, for grilling or just for fun. Wood for the outdoor fire can be provided upon request. IMPORTANT NOTE: Breakfast is optional with supplement and on reservation (therefore not included in the rental price). It is served in a basket in the caravan NEW !
