Butcheries were established in the 19th century and continued until the 20th century. The economy of Poudenas is based primarily on its pine forests and vineyards of Armagnac. The wheat mill of Poudenas also visible on this circuit was built in the 16th century on the banks of the Gélise.

From Réaup to Lisse, associated communes, this long hike will make you discover, from some viewpoints at the edge of the massif, the different species of the Landes forest: oaks, cork oaks, pines... The natural resources of Réaup make it a village of workers, but above all of gemmakers and lumberjacks organized in a "mutual aid society" since the 19th century. Along this route, you will see the castle and the chapel of Lisse, its parish church and those of Réaup and Cieuse. You will also pass by many pigeon houses and not far from the lake of Lislebonne situated in the heart of an oak forest which, with its leisure centre, welcomes many tourists.

From the rest area, popular with motorists on their way to Spain, this loop takes you along the tracks of the old Casteljaloux / Mont-de-Marsan railway line, into the Pompogne forest.

Built on a former railway line linking Gabarret to Mont de Marsan, the Voie verte du Marsan et de l'Armagnac offers a mosaic of landscapes to cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders over 52 km. Since 2018, it has been an integral part of the Scandiberique, the pilgrims' cycle route (EuroVélo 3) which links the town of Tronheim in Norway to Santiago de Compostela, crossing France over 1,700 km, including 195 km in the Landes. Signposted by the Landes Department, it is possible to take the cycle tourism loops to join the greenways from Saint Sever to Dax or from Lagraulet to Condom in the Gers

St Luperc's church, built around 1850 on the site of the old romanesque church destroyed in 1569, during the wars of religion. Only remain from that period is the romanesque portal. Open every day.

St John the Baptsit's church, one of the most interesting buildings in the Gabarret area. Wall bell-tower, flanked to the South by a round tower inside which is a spiral staircase. Gothic portal with brace shaped gable. Roman sanctuary. Open everyday.

Church with a turret, actual defensive tower with loopholes. A gothic capital is the only remain of St Martin's church destroyed around 1870. Beautiful gothic cross at the corner of the cemetery.
