This itinerary will make you discover two very contrasting landscapes. To the north west of Rosiers d'Egletons, the wooded sentinels of the plateau, with its soft, rounded shapes, dominate and guard the edges of the Limousin Mountain. To the south, the Doustre plain gently spreads out following the river in a procession of wet meadows, fish-filled ponds and deciduous forests.

Between the puys and the Doustre plain, you will need a picnic break at the Etang de Gros.From the church, take the street on the right heading towards Seugnac, leave the road on the right, continue on the D142.Go up left into the forest by the track, pass the summit of Puy Guzard and continue straight ahead. Cross the road (old Roman road) and continue opposite on the path between forest and meadow. Leave the path on the right and arrive at Le Bessard. Take the road on the left and use the "boviduc" on the right which passes under the N89. Cross the railway and enter the forest of tall Douglas fir ahead of you. Descend into a trough, cross a stream and reach a crossroads where four paths meet.Continue to the left alongside the field. At the crossing of Le Puy de l'Homme, turn right and, at the crow's foot, stay on the left. Cross the D66, take the track in front, continue straight ahead, then turn left to join the tail of the pond, L'etang de Gros. Walk alongside the pond on the right.Walk along the pond dam to the left (at the weir, look out for signs of the presence of the otter: scales, droppings) and continue along the path in the extension. Leave the path to the picnic area on the left.Turn off on the path to the left. It goes through a remarkable grove of oaks. Take the D142E1 on the left, then the small path on the left in a coppice and turn right. Take the D66 to the right, pass Saint-Roch, cross the railway, follow the N89 to the left, then turn right to reach the church.

A great circuit between the Puys and the Doustre plain where numerous ponds await you. A very rolling route with many tracks, without any technical difficulties, which brings you closer to the circuits of the Sédières Cyclotouring base.

The hamlet of Montaignac-St Hippolyte is home to a large number of peat ponds, some of which feed into the Doustre river. A nesting site or migratory stopover for wild birds, a food reserve for otters or a fishing pleasure for young and old alike, the ponds of the Doustre invite you to the water's edge.

Starting from Egletons, this 52 km long, gently undulating route invites you to travel through the Viscounty of Ventadour, an ancient feudal principality. You will pass by the castle of Ventadour built in the 12th century. Situated on a particularly narrow rocky spur, it rises to an altitude of 572 m. Thanks to its geographical position, it dominates the valleys of the Soudeillette and the vine stream. Classified as a Historic Monument in 1840, it is one of the 15 amazing sites in Corrèze. In addition to offering splendid panoramas, the castle transports you into another era. The route is partly located in the Regional Natural Park of the Millevaches plateau, a quiet and green area in the heart of a preserved nature. Coniferous forests, heather moors, hills and valleys decorate the landscape for a pleasant cycling trip.

This long loop between three communes offers hikers a magnificent route where history and nature accompany your steps. From the wild valley bottoms of the Soudeillette and Lieuteret rivers to the eagle's nest of Ventadour, this itinerary takes in some of the most magical and emblematic spots in the Correze landscape. This walk from fiefdom to fiefdom could be likened to that of the famous itinerant Troubadours who used to charm the "aulas" of the lords with their lyrical poems. Follow the royal road through the countryside to the village of Darnets and the Las Vergnas site. From the edge of Lac du Deiro to the wetlands of Las Vergnas, passing along the river, water accompanies your journey. This linear itinerary follows an old road, the voie royale, commissioned by Turgot, Intendant of Limousin, at the end of the 18th century. It takes you to the Las Vergnas discovery trail, a precious wetland that hides many treasures. Pontoon and footbridges will enable you to visit and understand this site to be preserved. On the king's highway, continue through the countryside to reach the village of Darnets and the site of Las Vergnas.Join the path alongside the lake on the right, cross the footbridge over the weir and go through the tunnel under the road. Walk alongside the river. Go over a footbridge. At the road turn left, then continue on the path. Again, on a small road, turn left, pass over the river and continue along the path.Turn right onto the road that crosses the railway and continue until you reach the village of Veuillac. In the hamlet, take a small hairpin road on the left and continue straight ahead on a paved road (the king's highway). Go to the road on the right and then immediately to the crossroads on the left. Leave the road to take a path on the right that goes around the village of La Barrière, and continue straight ahead.At the road continue on the track opposite, then turn right onto a path, and continue straight ahead. On the main road, go to the left. At the crossroads (Croix des Rameaux - palm cross) go down towards the church of Saint-Maurice and the oratory and then head up towards the town centre.At the crossing, continue straight ahead towards Montusclat. Leave a path to the right and go down the road to the bridge to reach to the starting point of the visit to Las Vergnas.At the welcome panel, go onto the footbridge, follow the water upstream. Cross another footbridge and then take the pontoon that goes through the wetland. Then pass a second footbridge and continue on the trail. Where you meet another path, turn left to join the old "serve" (a stone and landscaped pond). Continue along the path and turn left to return to the wetland.At the road, turn right to head to the village of Darnets.

Single-nave church with transept, apse and apsidal chapel. The oldest part of the church dates back to the 12th century, of which only the foundations of the porch, the domed apse and the Romanesque chevet (protected by decree) remain. The rest of the church has undergone modifications over the centuries. The church's stained-glass windows tell the story of the two Limousin popes born in the village (unique in the world): Clement VI (1292-1352) and Gregory XI (1329-1378), who brought the papacy back to Rome.

In the central window of the choir, a modern stained-glass window depicts two popes. In the Middle Ages, the town of Rosiers-d'Egletons was the birthplace of two popes: Pierre Roger de Beaufort who became Clement VI in 1342, and Pierre Roger de Beaufort who became Gregory XI in 1371. They were of the same family since Gregory XI was the nephew of Clement VI.

The current building is a Gothic architectural ensemble; however, the chapels date from the Renaissance, as do the numerous frescoes and funerary liters that adorn it. The semi-circular apse remains as the church's choir, as does the bell tower (12th, 14th, 15th), whose porch is one of the earliest examples of the ogival (Gothic) style in the Lower Limousin (circa 1190). In the 12th century, the hospital was set up outside the fortified town. The Pénitents Blancs took possession in 1591. Today, only the chapel has survived: it was extensively modified, but its portal and niche façade are medieval.
