A looping circuit to discover the landscapes surrounding the wine-growing village of Visan. - From the Puy Barret gate, take the road which goes towards Vaison. - Take rue Notre Dame on the left which passes through the top of the housing estates. - At the crossroads, take the second road on the left towards the Notre Dame des Vignes chapel. Stay on the asphalt road. Nice view of the Visan hills. Pass the Cantharide area. - At the crossroads, turn right onto Chemin des Bordeaux which goes up towards the hill. - At the crow's feet, take the dirt road following the sign indicating 'Visan, pedestrian circuit'. Stay on this main path for 1.5 km. - At the top of the path, once at the tarmac road, take it to the right. - 200 meters later, at the corner of a vineyard and the woods, go down the path on your left, follow the vineyard on the left while going up, then the path goes to the right between the vines. Very nice 360° panorama of the surrounding area. - At the crossroads of several paths between the vineyards, turn right on the stony path to the Saint Vincent chapel. - At the Saint Vincent chapel, go down the large stony path which goes around the chapel, towards the village of Visan. Stay on the asphalt road towards the village (direction prohibited for vehicles). - At the crossroads (pretty stone shed) indicating "Visan 197 m", turn left towards the village. Follow the “Town Hall” sign to Place du Jeu de Paume. At the town hall which will be on your right, take the street below on the left which goes down and go down towards the Puy Barret gate to find the car park.

In the heart of the prestigious Côtes du Rhône vineyards, discover the villages of Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Beaumes-de-Venise, Sablet... against a backdrop of the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux. Take the time to wander a bit and discover the vintner trail in Vaqueyras, the sculpture garden in Gigondas, the streets and views over the villages of Beaumes de Venise and Sablet. Parking: market square in Beaumes de Venise Start from the Tourism Office in Beaumes de Venise. Leave the market place (from the bottom of the square). At the intersection take a left. At the stop sign turn left (be careful – heavily travelled road). 300m farther, take a right. Take a right before the park planted with centuryold plane trees. After the second bridge at the intersection, take a right. At the stop sign take a left then the first right (2m after the stop sign). 600m later, take a left. At the intersection, take a right then, the “Route de la Bertrane”. At the intersection go straight. Take a first right, long straight road for 4.6km. At the stop sign go right. At the intersection take a left on the D-8 (be careful – heavily travelled road). 50 meters before the roundabout, right on “Chemin Saint André. At the stop sign go straight to Sablet, biking in front of a tennis court. At the intersection go right. Go through the village in the direction of Gigondas. Cross on the left direction Gigondas (be careful, cars are coming from behind). At the stop sign go left (go across in 2 stages – be careful) cross through Gigondas. Take the direction of Vacqueyras on the D-7. In Vacqueyras, go straight. At the roundabout turn right then go 400 m further and take the first left . Follow this road (intersection on the left) to the D7. Then go to the right (be careful, lots of traffic on this road). 1 km from there, take the first road on the left (road to the right). Climb up to the Notre Dame d'Aubune chapel. Continue on the road.

The Devès

A walk on the heights of Nyons, between scrubland and olive groves: it is the right path to soak up the Nyonsaise atmosphere. From the car park in front of the town hall, turn left on the street leading to the school. Follow André Escoffier street, which rises to the right of the school. At the dead end, continue on the paved road that climbs 50 meters then continue straight on a stony path that climbs among the olive trees. Cross a path from side to side and continue straight on a narrower path along a wall. Arriving at the concrete road, go up until you reach the big cypresses and turn right along the path that goes up the hedge. The path leads to a paved road that must be followed at the climb. Climb two small bends, then, at the fork at the foot of the big block of ocher rock, turn right on the small road down, which extends to a plank lined with olive trees.1 - In the left turn, leave the road to take a right on the trail marked by a post indicating the climbing site. Go up this gently sloping path and pass at the foot of the rock climbing. At the exit of the green oak wood (rocky plate), leave the flat path to take the left that climbs. After the stone walls arranged in a circle in the oak grove, climb the wooded scrubland and reach the Devès junction (directional post alt. 470 m) with the GR 9.2 - Continue the path that goes left on the ridge to the Notre-Dame de Réparat chapel. Pass the Pontias Hole and continue on the Pontias Pass (road).3 - Make a U-turn and return to the Devès intersection (directional post alt 470 m)4 - Continue straight to go down the ridge and below, pass rocks and steps. When the path arrives in view of a building, keep going down to the left and, at the first houses, go down the Devès street. Through the small streets of the old town return to the Town Hall Square.
