Founded in 1882, La Scourtinerie is France's last remaining scourtin factory. We invite you to discover our world through our scourtin museum, workshop and boutique.
Founded in 1882 by Ferdinand and Marie Fert, this family business is now run by Frédérique and her daughter Sophie, the 4th and 5th generations. The scourtin is a filter used to extract olive oil, woven from rot-proof, highly resistant coconut rope. Since the frost of 1956, scourtins have also been used as trivets and Provencal rugs. Discover the weaving workshop and the scourtin museum, retracing the history of the family business through the generations. Our boutique offers a wide selection of local and Indian handicrafts.
La Scourtinerie is diversifying and in 2017 is launching its new original creation: L'Ombrière in 100% natural fiber, rot-proof and weather-resistant.
Free entry. Group rate available for 10 people or more. Free admission to museum, workshop and store For groups: free admission for driver and accompanying adult.
