Do you want to escape from the seaside? A few kilometres from the coast are two villages where you can recharge your batteries and marvel at the beauty of the area! Set in time, the village of Plumetot charms us with its old stones and its narrow streets (Plumetot only had streets until 1985!). A true rural stopover in the Terres de Nacre, its green lanes offer a panorama of the sea as well as the countryside and are a good place to go for a walk with your family or with a four-legged friend. Take a stroll to its neighbour, Cresserons. Its architecture and its religious past are surprising. It was once a Protestant village, but today only vestiges of that era remain! Nevertheless, go through the door of the Church of Saint Jacques and you will be amazed.

Discover one of our country villages at the gates of Caen. This pretty village was founded in the 11th century by the family of the lords of Anisy, one of the oldest in Normandy. You will see the manor house of Anisy (15th century) and its beautiful pond fed by numerous local springs. The Romanesque church, listed as a historical monument since 1927, was built in the 11th century. In the main street, which was preserved from the bombings of June 1944, you can also discover many 18th century stone houses typical of the housing on the Caen plain.

Le Coudray is in an old farmhouse 300 m from the village of La Pallu, near the forest, 9 km from Pré-en-Pail, 30 km from Alençon, 12 km from La Ferté-Macé, 9 km from Couterne and 14 km from Bagnoles de l'Orne, a spa town. A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). A warm welcome awaits explorers in caravans, motorhomes and tents, whether travelling with a motorised vehicle or on their own. Our pitches are spacious and bordered by hedges. They are ideal for families or couples to feel at home. We have two accommodation units available for hire. Our large and spacious mobile home is available for a minimum of 3 nights. You are 13km from the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne and in the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park. You'll love the hiking trails and the nearby Véloscénie cycle route linking Paris to Mont Saint Michel. If you fancy a spot of fishing, there are plenty of opportunities in the village, with lakes and trout in the river.

If you're looking for a wellness break in an unspoilt natural setting, with friends or family, the Moulin de Cordouen, between Mayenne and Orne, offers a quality service with its sauna and Nordic bath on the River Mayenne. The old presbytery, built from 1660 onwards, was destroyed with its archives in a fire in 1782. It will be rebuilt on the same site. The large house had its own autonomy: a garden, a small livestock farm, a dairy and a bakery enabled the parish priest to live very comfortably. It was put up for sale in 1791, following the disaffection of the parish.

The Périers-sur-le-Dan manor house was built around 1750 by the Osmont family of Protestants. During the Second World War, it was first occupied by German troops, then by Allied soldiers.

The Périers-sur-le-Dan church site contains the remains of a settlement dating back to the Merovingian and Carolingian eras. But the origins of the church date back to the 8th century. It owes its name to Saint Ouen, who was bishop of Rouen from 640 to 684, having played an important role at the court of King Dagobert. After his death, his relics were reputed to perform miracles. The first building, with its opus spicatum walls, was destroyed in the 9th century, during the great Norman raids. In the 11th century, after the conquest of England in 1066, the Normans built numerous churches and monasteries using the riches brought back from across the Channel. The church of Saint-Ouen was rebuilt at this time, and enlarged by the addition of a side aisle to the north of the nave. The roof was covered with green Cotentin slate. In the 14th century, frescoes depicting the life of Saint Ouen were painted on the choir walls. Normandy suffered particularly during the Hundred Years' War from 1337 to 1453. The church fell into ruin. After the end of hostilities, the useless aisle was demolished and the dividing wall filled in. Only one arcade was preserved, with its two columns and capitals. The building was covered with red tiles. In 1914, the building was listed as a Monument Historique. Excavations in 1929 and again in 1970 enabled us to date certain parts of the building, and uncovered Merovingian remains close to the site. In 1980-1981, consolidation and restoration work enabled the choir to be reopened for the Saint-Ouen festival and heritage days.

This building was constructed in the late 11th or early 12th century. Over the following centuries, it was reduced in size and substantially altered. The length of the nave was reduced, which explains why it has only two bays, whereas the choir has three. The side walls are in opus spicatum. The Romanesque bell tower was modified during the 1933-1934 remodelling. The nave's stained-glass windows (1939) were designed by Georges-Pierre Sagot, a master glassmaker from Bayeux. The murals and the large wainscoting in the choir frame are the work of Chartres-born painter Louis Chifflet, whose theological painting is part of the French Nazarene movement. The stained glass windows in the choir were created by the renowned Lorin workshop in Chartres. This ensemble of paintings and stained glass is one of the most sumptuous in the region.

Located on the southern exit of the town on the road to Biéville-Beuville, this 24 hectare site, comprised of 18 casemates and underground fortifications built by the Germans between 1942 and 1944, was the command post of the German defences along the Côte de Nacre coast. Memorial to the 1st Battalion, Suffolk Regiment, which liberated the site on the 6th of June 1944 – open in July and August, every day except Tuesday and Sunday, from 10am to 12 noon and from 2.30pm to 6.30pm. Outdoor site open all year. Guided tours on Tuesdays at 3pm from July to September.

Former property of a protestant family, hence the name.

The school was also located here; in the backyard. Inscriptions can be seen on the flagpole. It was customary to leave a trace of one's passage there by putting a date and one's name or initials.

On Wednesday and Thursday lunch is also available, with a single course, and on Friday it's pancake night. Everything is homemade and seasonal, as local and organic as possible. We select our products with care and work with l'Arbuste Café, BioCoop, Les Glaciers Normands, brasserie Les Deux Amants, Flore Norman? And last but not least, Sundays are brunch: an all-you-can-eat buffet. It includes a breakfast section (ultra-good bread, viennoiseries, butter, spreads, etc.), a savoury section (charcuterie, local cheeses), a sweet section (cereals, cakes of the day, pancakes), and hot and cold drinks. Les Briques also has 3 other spaces: a coworking area, a coliving area and a wood workshop. > Coworking... teleworking by the sea Our coworking space is open from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm. It is equipped with 20 open-space workstations, and a meeting room for 5 with a 4K television to guarantee confidentiality. Twelve workstations are spread over two large tables, and eight workstations are located high up on two "standing-desks" along the bay windows. The wooden furniture was custom-made in our workshop. A laser printer, high-speed Wi-Fi, 24' screens (HDMI or USB-C) and unlimited hot beverages complete our offer. In fine weather, you can also enjoy the garden, covered by Wi-Fi. > Coliving Coliving, literally "co-living", simply means "living together". In concrete terms, you have your own cabin, you share common spaces (large kitchen, living room, bathroom, coworking space, terrace, garden) and you do activities with the community (visits, walks, cycling, sailing, kayaking, paddle?). Every Saturday evening, there's a family dinner with all the colivers. Unlike a shared apartment, everything is ready when you arrive: sheets on the bed, towels, everything is included! At Les Briques, we have paid particular attention to aesthetics and ambience: the use of wood in the entirely bespoke fittings, the conservation of existing raw materials, and the presence of stoves in the kitchen and coworking area create an immediately warm atmosphere. Coliving is located on the first floor of Les Briques, which is entirely dedicated to it: this is where the dormitory, sanitary facilities, kitchen and lounge are located. This is your space. > L'Atelier Bois From January 2024, we will be offering individual and group woodworking courses, as well as personalized support for small and medium-sized woodworking projects. Jean, co-founder of Les Briques and a carpentry teacher for twenty years, who designed the interiors of the coliving and coworking facilities and our tea room, will run the courses in our fully-equipped woodworking workshop, ideally located on site.
